Bhubaneswar, Feb 27 (IANS) Odisha Finance Minister Pradeep Kumar Amat on Monday presented an annual budget of Rs 1,06,911 crore for 2017-18 with focus on social sectors and developing infrastructure in the state.
There has been an increase of about 13.7 per cent in the annual budget compared to the 2016-17.
The minister also presented a separate budget of Rs 14,930 crore for agriculture sector.
"The budget has focused on all round development and inclusive growth of the state," said Amat.
The government expects that the state economy would grow in the range of 8 per cent to 8.5 per cent during 2017-18.
"We propose to finance the outlay for expenditure of Rs 1,06,911 crore in 2017-18 in the consolidated fund through estimated revenue receipts of Rs 88,932 crore, recovery of loans and advances of Rs 130 crore and borrowing and other receipts of Rs 17,849," said Amat.
The largest share in the annual budget has been allocated to the education and skills sector with Rs 18,404 crore.
