Over 250 couples recreate famous Times Square kiss in US
Maiami, Feb 16 (IANS) More than 250 couples on Valentine's Day recreated the famous scene of a sailor impulsively kissing a woman in a white dress in Times Square to celebrate the end of World War II.

The couples posed around the 7.6-meter (25-foot) "Embracing Peace" sculpture, which captures the moment when the Navy sailor and woman in white locked lips on Aug. 14, 1945, known as Victory over Japan Day (V-J Day), EFE news quoted the tourist office in the southernmost city in the US as saying on Wednesday.

The enormous sculpture by Seward Johnson, a Korean War veteran, is on display outside the Key West Art and Historical Society, which is running an exhibition on "The Navy in Key West".

The couples gathered at the sculpture on Valentine's Day, recreating the kiss captured on film for posterity by photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt.
