Kolkata, Feb 13 (IANS) Visva Bharati University and Indian Army's Eastern Command on Monday inked an agreement for educational cooperation to facilitate academic and faculty exchange programmes.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Educational Cooperation was inked here at the Eastern Command Headquarters at Fort William.
The agreement would involve close interaction between the two organisations and promote academic exchange programmes, faculty exchange programmes, seminars, workshops and conferences on education, a defence ministry spokesman said.
The signing ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Praveen Bakshi, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Eastern Command, and Swapan Dutta, Officiating Vice-Chancellor of Visva Bharati.
Speaking on the occasion, Lt Gen Bakshi thanked the Vice-Chancellor for helping the Eastern Command in realising its objectives.
