TV show goes looking for 'baraatis' among Delhiites
Mumbai, Feb 2 (IANS) For a wedding sequence in popular TV show "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai", the makers are on the lookout to cast common people as 'baraatis'.

As the show's track is heading towards the on-screen wedding of actors Shivangi Joshi and Mohsin Khan, who play Naira and Kartik, two other actors from the show -- Shilpa Raizada and Kanchi Singh -- will visit the capital this weekend to search for people who can attend the wedding.

Shilpa and Kanchi will visit places like TGIP Mall (Noida), Akshardham Society (Dwarka), DDA SFS Flats (Kalkaji) and HMT Rohini on Saturday and Sunday.

The selected ones will get a chance to feature in the on-air 'baraat' and be a part of the wedding shoot, which is scheduled to be shot in Bikaner.

"I'm extremely excited for Kartik and Naira's wedding. I'll be visiting Delhi on February 5 to get the most 'joshila baraatis' from your city. We will be organising an on-ground contest and will choose three most enthusiastic candidates for the 'baraat'," Kanchi, who plays the role of Gayu in the show, said in a statement.

Shilpa, who plays Surekha in the show, added: "We have received a lot of love from the viewers across India and I'm delighted to be a part of this huge activation as it will bring me closer to the fans of 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain'."

The show is aired on Star Plus.
