Chennai, Jan 31 (IANS) Oscar winning sound designer Resul Pookutty considers meeting legendary sound designer Randy Thom a rare "privilege". He has thanked the veteran for agreeing to mentor his script.
"I had such a great privilege to have breakfast with one of the greatest minds of Hollywood cinema Randy Thom. So many stories he said are actually history of cinema from 'Apocalypse Now' to 'The Revenant'," Resul wrote on his Twitter page on Tuesday.
Having started his career with the stereo mix session of "American Graffiti", Thom is known to be part of popular films such as "Apocalypse Now", "Indian Jones and the Temple of Doom", "Forrest Gump" and "Cast Away".
Resul thanked him for agreeing to mentor his script, details of which are not known yet. "Lots of love. Hope you have a great time," he added.
Resul is now working on superstar Rajinikanth's Tamil action science-fiction film "2.o".
