New Delhi, Jan 13 (IANS) A 56-year-old Head Constable of Delhi Police lost his leg when a speeding truck crashed was him, police said on Friday.
Police said the incident took place late on Thursday, when the victim identified as Shish Ram was crossing Mehrauli-Badarpur Road.
"Ram was going for tea at the other side of road, when a speeding truck crushed him. Ram was taken to All India Institute of Medical Sciences in severe injuries," a police officer said, adding that during amputation Ram lost his left leg.
Ram a native of Alwar, Rajasthan, was posted in Jaitpur Police Station and was at night patrolling, he said.
