Tokyo, Dec 20 (IANS) Tokyo shares opened lower on Tuesday on the firmer yen against the US dollar overnight.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 22.15 points, or 0.11 per cent, from Monday to 19,369.45, Xinhua news agency reported.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 3.84 points, or 0.25 per cent, to 1,545.22.
Decliners were led by nonferrous metal, pulp and paper and mining issues.
