SC asks two lawyers to report on flat allotted to minister

New Delhi, Nov 9 (IANS) The Supreme Court on Wednesday appointed two lawyers to visit a residential project in adjoining Gurugram to verify condition of a flat allotted to Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and on the shortest route to access the common facilities.

A bench of Justice Dipak Misra and Justice Amitava Roy said the two lawyers -- Gopal Shankarnarayan and Gaurav Agrawal -- will visit the site and verify the facilities at real estate major Parsvnath Developers' project and report back in two weeks. It directed for next hearing on November 29.

The bench said that expenses of both the lawyers would be met by the builder and both parties -- Parsvnath Developers and the Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore -- will cooperate with the team.

The court order came as Rathore's counsel told it that the flat allotted to him was not habitable as there was no occupancy certificate, no access to common facilities and that the parking facilities too were not appropriate.

Rathore's counsel said access to his flat was through a unmetalled road surrounded by shanties.
