Agartala, Oct 1 (IANS) To make the party acquainted with the prevailing situation, the ruling CPI-M (Communist Party of India-Marxist) in Tripura on Saturday launched its own Facebook page.
Opening the Facebook page, CPI-M central committee member Bijan Dhar said "to reach out to the people specially among the youths, the page has been opened".
"The party has earlier decided to open the Facebook page to counter the malicious campaign against the party besides to reach out the people with party programme," said Dhar, who is also the secretary of the CPI-M Tripura state committee.
He said: "From the Facebook page, the party leaders would get the feedback about the functioning of the party and the government. We always give importance to the opinion and analysis of the people."
CPI-M central committee members Khagen Das and Gautam Das, party's Lok Sabha member Jitendra Chowdhury among others were present at the function.
