Dwarka court asks staff to stick to dress code

New Delhi, May 28 (IANS) The Dwarka Courts Complex in a crackdown on violation of the dress code for staff has asked women to come attired in salwar-kameez with dupatta or in sari while men have been asked not to wear sports shoes.

A circular issued by the Dwarka Courts Complex senior officer on May 23 has directed that all staff members have to wear "formal uniform".

The male staff have been asked to wear shirt, trouser and shoes (other than sports shoes).

 

"It has been brought to the notice of the undersigned that despite specific instructions issued from time to time by the office of District and Sessions Judge, as well as by the office of undersigned, some officials posted at Dwarka District Courts do not adhere to the proper dress code/uniform," said District and Sessions Judge Ravinder Kaur.

"All the staff members are hereby directed to strictly adhere to the specified formal uniform/dress code, as under; for male officials : Shirt, trouser and shoes (other than sports shoes); for female officials salwar kameez with dupatta or sari," the circular mentions.

All the officials have also been directed to display their identity cards prominently while on duty.

According to the circular, non-compliance with the directions shall be viewed seriously and shall call for appropriate disciplinary action.
