Mumbai, April 8 (IANS) A benchmark index of the Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip BSE Sensitive Index (Sensex), provisionally closed Friday's trade 11.58 points or 0.05 percent down.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), however, provisionally closed 8.75 points or 0.12 percent in the green at 7,555.20 points.
The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 24,665.80 points, provisionally closed at 24,673.84 points (at 3.52 p.m.) -- down 11.58 points or 0.05 percent from the previous day's close at 24,685.42 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 24,736.03 points and a low of 24,608.51 points in the intra-day trade.
