Los Angeles, Feb 11 (IANS) Actor Idris Elba is in talks to star in the upcoming romance drama The Mountain Between Us.
Actors Charlie Hunnam and Rosamund Pike were previously attached to play the protagonist in the film, reports variety.com.
The film will be directed by Hany Abu-Assad.
The Mountain Between Us is based on Charles Martins 2010 bestselling novel about a surgeon and woman who fall in love after being stranded following a plane crash when the pilot has a heart attack mid-flight.
They must figure out how to get out of the mountain wilderness, where the temperature drops at night, while suffering broken ribs and a leg fracture.
Elba will be seen next inStar Trek Beyond as the villain Krall.
