High Court's extension till January 31, 2016, to hold Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, comes as relief for Telangana Government. The Court issued orders earlier to schedule the GHMC elections by December 15 but with the TS government put forth a request for more time. The request has been granted.
Since voters are linked to the Aadhaar card to eliminate the fake voters in the voters list, a delay may take place in the finalization argued the state government's lawyers. The Court after listening to the arguments directed that the election process should be completed by January 31.
