Rajasthan DGP orders strict action against organised crime and drug networks

Jaipur, June 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) Rajasthan Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Kumar Sharma on Monday directed police officers across the state to intensify action against organised crime, drug trafficking, cyber fraud and habitual offenders, while emphasising strict measures against those filing false criminal cases.

Chairing a statewide crime review meeting through video conferencing from the Police Headquarters, Sharma said a strong law-and-order environment is the foundation of a developed Rajasthan and noted that public confidence in the police has increased following the implementation of the new criminal laws.

Reviewing crime trends with range inspectors general and superintendents of police, the DGP instructed officers to take the toughest possible action against active criminal gangs and organised crime syndicates.

He also directed police to act firmly against extortion rackets and ensure that illegally acquired assets of criminals are attached under the provisions of the new criminal laws.

Sharma ordered strict monitoring of the bank accounts and financial transactions of gangsters and organised criminals.

He further instructed police units to initiate action for the demolition of illegal properties accumulated through criminal activities.

Expressing concern over drug abuse and trafficking, the DGP directed all superintendents of police to formulate district-specific action plans and launch sustained campaigns against narcotics networks.

He also called for swift action against cybercriminals involved in online fraud, digital arrest scams and other technology-driven crimes, stressing that offenders should be identified and arrested at the earliest.

Police personnel at the station level should be trained in modern investigation techniques to improve detection and prosecution, he added.

The DGP instructed officers to immediately report any sensitive law-and-order or security-related incidents to senior authorities to ensure timely guidance and support.

He also reviewed the disposal of pending cases and directed officers to expedite investigations and ensure prompt justice for victims.

Reviewing road safety measures, Sharma said a road accident impacts an entire family, not just an individual.

He directed police units to ensure strict enforcement of lane discipline on national highways and within cities and towns.

Officers were instructed to take firm action against traffic violators and conduct road safety awareness campaigns throughout the year to reduce accidents and improve compliance with traffic rules.

The DGP also reviewed preparations for the upcoming NEET examination and directed officers to ensure foolproof security and the smooth conduct of the test.
