Telangana: EAGLE Force busts 'OG Ganja' smuggling racket, woman arrested

Hyderabad, June 9 (SocialNews.XYZ) Telangana Police’s anti-drugs wing EAGLE Force, in coordination with Customs Hyderabad and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), has busted a transnational ‘OG Ganja’ smuggling network operating between Bangkok and India, with contraband worth Rs 2 crore seized from a woman at Hyderabad Airport.

The Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) said on Tuesday that a woman was arrested at Hyderabad Airport upon her arrival from Bangkok while attempting to smuggle ‘OG Ganja’ (OG Weed) into India.

The EAGLE Force seized 2.15 kilograms of OG weed ganja worth Rs 2 crore.

According to EAGLE, a junior artist’s repeated trips to Bangkok exposed the drug syndicate. She was engaged in smuggling OG ganja from Bangkok to India.

The network was luring women with money to use them as couriers for smuggling OG weed. Officials found that the gang was cheating women in the name of foreign trips to use them for smuggling.

As part of this, the junior artist was sent to Bangkok three times. Smugglers allegedly paid her between Rs 10,000 and Rs 20,000 per trip. The arrested woman was identified as Doddi Noorikala.

The gang was operating in Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru.

The operation exposed a large syndicate involved in recruiting individuals to transport narcotics across international borders.

The investigation has revealed links to multiple carriers, interstate operatives and foreign-based handlers engaged in organised drug trafficking.

Officials identified Challil Puthan Purayil Nasheed as the key conspirator behind the racket.

The junior artist’s aide, Ganga Bhavani, was previously arrested in the same case. Another woman, Gauri, was arrested at Chennai Airport.

EAGLE found that the drug syndicate was using junior artists and domestic help to carry out its activities.

Officials are conducting investigations to identify and track foreign handlers and the international network they operate within.

The anti-drugs force is on the lookout for the main accused, Alex and Raju Biswas.
