Sports give us more than we can expect. It gives us fun, enjoyment, excitement, and even happiness during dark times. And what better is there than to watch a game with your friends and bet on the winnings of your favorite team or player? But what if you have no friends close by. So, for that, you have online betting. Apps like 22bet apk allow you to bet right from the confines of your home. However, sports might mean even more to some. You might want to pursue a career out of sports. Here is a list of a few options that you might want to think of pursuing.

Athlete

This is definitely the first option any day. If you really love a sport and want to pursue it, this is probably the best option. Once you establish yourself or your skills in your sport, you can concentrate on the game with all your heart and enjoy both fame and wealth. However, the process is not an easy one. There is a lot of hard work and poverty involved so you must be prepared. You have to do a lot of training, travel far and wide for competitions and matches and finally, you might end up with employment or sponsorship contracts once you are able to prove your worth in the field.

Coach or Trainer

The greatest player in the world did not have the greatest player as his coach. Similarly, the greatest player in the world hardly ever has the chance to train the next greatest player in the world. So, if you study a lot about the game that you are interested in but are not yourself an exceptional player, coaching is the job for you! A coach’s job is to guide the player through the right channels to bring out the best, not play it himself. Moreover, once you retire from professional sports, you can consider coaching. Coaches can be employed by clubs or appealed to by players themselves. They too have contracts of employment or sponsorship. A coach’s judgment has a lot to do with the course of the event. But most importantly, you need a coaching qualification from the concerned body to be a coach.

Sports Lawyer

Are you both interested in sports and academics and do you also want a permanent job that will elevate your status? Well, then this one's for you. Sports lawyers advise their clients, who are the sports stars or clubs on the various legal aspects of sports and represent them in the court if it is needed. Moreover, they also take charge of contracts that their clients sign including employment, sponsorship, and even advertising and sports broadcasting. They also look after the disciplinary measures of sports regulation, injuries, and transfers. In short, they see to it that nobody takes advantage of their clients who are more interested in the game.

PE teacher

As a PE teacher, you can train young kids or college-goers and enhance their interest in sports. You might need to have a physical education degree and then gain a QTS status like any other school teacher.

Do you know of any more careers you could try out being a sports enthusiast?

By Arul Louis

New York, Feb 26 (SocialNews.XYZ) US President Donald Trump was in India, but his controversial remarks from 13,000 kilometres away on domestic US issues like Supreme Court Judges and the Democratic Party were reverberating here more than what he had to say about his host nation.

He tangled with the judiciary on Tuesday saying that Supreme Court Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor should recuse themselves from cases involving him and lashed out against the head of jury that convicted a friend.

He said at his news conference in New Delhi, Ginsburg should recuse herself because "she went wild" during the 2016 presidential campaign.

"I don't know who she was for - perhaps she was for Hillary Clinton, if you can believe it - but she said some things that were obviously very inappropriate," he asserted.

AGinsburg had called Trump a "faker" in 2016A and said that he said "whatever came to his mind."

As for Sotomayor, he took issue with her critical minority opinion in a case in which the Supreme Court's majority upheld the Trump administration's enforcement of a rule that bars people who would bar people requiring public assistance from immigrating.

"I just don't know how they cannot recuse themselves for anything having to do with Trump or Trump-related," he said.

He said, "Justice Sotomayor said what she said yesterday. You know very well what she said yesterday."

Sotomayor had criticised the administration for repeatedly seeking "extraordinary relief" from a lower court's decision saying "its cries of urgency ring increasingly hollow" and took issue with the fellow for granting it.

"She's trying to shame people with perhaps a different view into voting her way, and that's so inappropriate," Trump said.

While those comments by a president against the judiciary created a backlash from law experts and politicians, Federal Judge Amy Berman Jackson citing Trump's comments ordered a partially closed hearing in a case involving Trump's associate Roger Stone because of possible threats to the jury.

Trump tweeted, "There has rarely been a juror so tainted as the forewoman in the Roger Stone case. Look at her background. She never revealed her hatred of 'Trump' and Stone. She was totally biased, as is the judge."

After initially ordering a closed hearing, Berman later agreed to allow reporters and the public to listen to hearings from a different room in Stone's appeal for a retrial but not see the jurors saying they were at high "risk of harassment or intimidation."

Stone was convicted of lying to investigators and obstructing congressional inquiry into Russia's role in the 2016 elections and sentenced to 40 months in prison.

Attorney-General William Barr had over-ruled the proposal by the prosecutors in the case to ask for a sentence of seven to nine years, leading to their resignation.

At the same time, Barr complained about Trump's tweets. He told a TV interviewer the tweets and statements "make it impossible for me to do my job and to assure the courts and the prosecutors in the department that we're doing our work with integrity."

Getting into Democratic Party politics, Trump said that the party's establishment was trying to undermine Senator Bernie Sanders, who "looks like he's winning" the nomination to challenge him in the November election.

"They maybe don't want him for obvious reasons, so they put out a thing that Russia's backing him," he said.

On the eve on the intra-party election in Nevada last Saturday to select the party's presidential nominee there was leak to the media that the US intelligence services had warned that the Russians were trying to help the left-wing candidate.

At the same time, Trump said at a meeting of Indian investors that if Sanders becomes the party nominee, the markets "will be down.a

ASanders continues to do well and becomes the Democratic nominee, it will "keep the markets down" for a while. He said the markets may jump around quite a bit until the election.

"When we win, I think the market's going to go up like a rocket ship," he told them, with a warning, "If I dona?t win, you're going to see a crash like you've never seen before."

On a more substantive matter, Trump sent a request to Congress on Tuesday for $2.5 billion to deal with the coronavirus crisis.

New Delhi, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) For nearly one hour, US First Lady Melania Trump had the first-hand experience of the Delhi government's much-talked about 'happiness curriculum' at Sarvodaya School in South Moti Bagh, here on Tuesday.

The US first Lady was accorded a traditional welcome with 'aarti' and was garlanded by students. Sporting a tilak, Melania Trump spent the time at a classroom and watched 24 students and their teachers seeking nothing but happiness.

Siddharth, one of the students in the class, said the First Lady enquired about mindfulness and also the activities in happiness classes.

A girl students told IANS, "During the session, we had to express gratitude to someone. I expressed my respect towards the class teacher. She (Melania Trump) enquired whom did I thank and why."

She played puzzles with students, and also briefly occupied the class teacher's chair and quizzed them. Paintings and stickers in the classroom, depicting human behaviour, caught her attention. She was impressed with thrust on compassion and empathy as part of the happiness curriculum.

"I can't think of a better way to start our day with than this," the First Lady said and added, she was "inspired" by the happiness curriculum. She advised students to be "good to each other" throughout their life and thanked teachers for inculcating good values in them.

While students were performing bhangra dance, one student -- Gaganjit -- started dancing spontaneously on the beats, much to the First Lady's amusement. While her security apparatus went into tizzy, Melania Trump enjoyed it thoroughly. As the cameras caught Gaganjit dancing away to glory, the First Lady could be seen laughing and clapping for him.

Before leaving, she wished students success and obliged almost everyone who walked up to her to shake hands. She also thanked the educators for their efforts. "I want to thank all educators for setting a positive example and giving skills, knowledge to students," said the US First Lady.

As part of the programme, students are taught various activities, like mindfulness, plays, and anxiety reducing techniques.

Launched in 2018, the 'happiness curriculum' was intended to shift focus from marks-oriented learning to art-based learning that not just teaches good behaviour but also helps in dealing with regular stress.

Slovenian-born model-turned-social activist, Melania, 50, moved to the US in 1996 and is the only First Lady to become a naturalised US citizen. Mother of Barron Trump, Melania spends a lot of time on her campaign against drug abuse and for the well-being of children. On her foreign trips, she often visits hospitals and schools.

On her visit, a proud Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted: "Welcome to our school @FLOTUS! We hope you would have a great time here in #HappinessClass It's just 18 months old initiative, but early results have made us confident that @HappinessDelhi is the ultimate solution to all violence & hate in mindsets that we r facing worldwide."

However, the event didn't go without its share of controversies.

When the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) cried foul over omission of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Sisodia's name from the Melania Trump's visit to the school, the US embassy in New Delhi said, while it "had no objection to the presence of the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister, we appreciate their recognition that this is not a political event".

"It's best to ensure focus on education, school and students," said an embassy spokesperson.

New Delhi, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that India and the US will reach a comprehensive agreement on intellectual property rights (IPR).

Trump held official bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier in the day and spoke on a number of subjects, including partnerships in trade, defence and energy.

A comprehensive deal on the IPR front would be a major development as India has slipped to the 40th position on the US Chamber's International IP Index.

The country continues to figure in the US' Priority Watch List that identifies trade barriers to US companies due to IP laws of other countries.

India and the US recently signed an agreement on IPR and the Union Cabinet last week approved a memorandum of understanding with the US on the issue of IPR along with other subjects, including information and broadcasting.

The statement by Trump also came at a time when both the countries are already in negotiations for a trade deal. Both India and the US have said that talks are on for a major trade deal between the two countries.

Addressing the media here, the US President also said that he discussed an energy deal with Prime Minister Modi.

His statement assumes significance as India imports a significant portion of its energy needs from the US, which has only increased in the past few years. The US is the sixth largest oil supplier to India.

Trump also discussed business related issues with India's policy makers and industrialists.

Regarding the current trade relations with India, the US President said that India has the highest tariffs in the world and due to this, business cannot be conducted with it. He added that trade deficit has also been discussed.

On the upcoming Presidential elections in the US where he will be seeking a second term, Trump, a billionaire businessman with investments across the world, said that if he wins, stock markets in America will jump by "thousands and thousands" of points.

New Delhi, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday hosted a banquet in honour of visiting US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump and attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his cabinet colleagues, and other dignitaries from both sides.

Welcoming the US President, Kovind said: "President Trump's participation in the 'Howdy, Modi!' event had already won the hearts of millions of Indians. The 'Namaste Trump' has brought him even closer to our people. It is the first time that an event of such scale was held in India to welcome a foreign leader.

"It shows the goodwill and respect that the people of India have for the US and for President Trump."

Terming Trump a valued friend of India, he said that India "appreciates the progress in India-US relations in his term in office, the US as a long-term friend and a natural partner".

"Our strong democratic credentials bind us together. Continued economic prosperity and geo-political leadership of the US is in India's interest. Similarly, India's growing political, economic and military footprint will be beneficial for US interests in the region as well as globally," he said.

Noting India is currently undergoing change from an agriculture-based economy to a more manufacturing and services-oriented economy, Kovind said: "In this transition, we need the support and understanding of our friends and partners. We feel that the US being our leading economic partner is uniquely placed to support our growth and development as well as benefit from its expansion."

He also said that as the world's largest democracies, the India and the US "are deeply connected with each other through our people and their aspirations".

New Delhi, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) The US media did not mince words in highlighting the violence in Delhi around the Citizenship (Amendment) Act amid US President Donald Trump's two-day India trip, even as the Indian media gave a vast and expansive coverage to Trump's first-ever standalone tour.

Some of the write-ups published in leading US media outlets spoke in detail about the tension and violence that has gripped east Delhi since Sunday that started with a clash between pro and anti-CAA groups, resulting in the death of 10 people, including a policeman.

Even as Trump refused to comment on the CAA, citing it as India's internal matter, the US media has described the new citizenship law -- being opposed by a section of people in India -- as "anti-Muslim".

"Wrapping up a two-day trip to India, President Trump declined on Tuesday to condemn India's new citizenship law, which discriminates against Muslims..." was the opening line of a news piece in a major American newspaper.

The CAA has been a major bone of contention in the Indian political circles since it was passed by Parliament in December last year.

India has witnessed violent protests across the country, with many claiming the the Act "discriminates" against the Muslims as it seeks to provide citizenship to only non-Muslims of Pakistani, Bangladesh and Afghanistan who have faced persecution in those Muslim-majority countries.

The Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has repeatedly stated that Muslims in India won't be affected by the CAA. However, the assurance has failed to do anything significant to quell the fears.

On Tuesday, the American media said Trump seemed to have backed Modi government's CAA, as the US President refused to criticise the Act during a press conference in New Delhi.

"Trump appeared to back Modi's concern that the majority-Hindu country is being overrun by Muslims," one of the reports that appeared in a leading US newspaper read.

The US media said Trump refused to answer anything on CAA when he was asked about it. "I don't want to discuss that, and hopefully they're going to make the right decision for the people," he said.

Another leading US newspaper, well known for its criticism of Trump, reported the Delhi violence from a "communal" perspective.

The paper, in its report, also spoke about "Modi's Hindu nationalism" and related this with the tension in the neighbourhoods of east Delhi.

It wrote: "The fighting in Delhi signalled a dire new phase in the country's internal divisions under Modi.

An opinion piece by the same newspaper also discussed about a ban on Modi by the US post 2002 Gujarat riots, which was eventually lifted after he became Prime Minister in 2014.

"When he became prime minister in the spring of 2014, the travel ban was lifted, and later that year, Modi made his first triumphant visit to the United States, where he had a private dinner with President Barack Obama."

The write-up also said: "Trump is popular in India, where 2019 polling by the Pew Research Centre found 56% of citizens expressed confidence in him to handle world affairs -- one of just a half-dozen nations to register a majority on that question. In many other countries, he is more apt to draw crowds of protesters than admirers. Attendees at Monday's rally (in Ahmedabad's Motera) seemed dazzled."

By Anjana Das

New Delhi, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) Flagging the high duties, US President Donald Trump here on Tuesday said India imposed the highest tariffs on US products and cited the case of Harley-Davidson bike.

"We are being charged a large amount of tariffs. I think you have to pay the highest tariff when you deal with India. Harley-Davidson has to pay tremendous tariffs when they send motorcycles here. When India sends to us, there is virtually no tariff. For the most part, there are absolutely no tariff. I just said that's unfair and we are working it out," the US President said at the solo press conference at the fag end of his two-day India visit.

"India is probably the highest tariff nation in the world. We have to stop that. I think we are understanding each other," Trump said.

India levies 50 per cent duty on some Harley-Davidson bikes and it has been a major pain point for the US. Trump has been seeking lowering of tax on them in India. In June 2019, Trump had said 50 per cent import tariff on Harley-Davidson was unacceptable and India must remove that.

Though there were announcements from both sides to seal a larger trade deal at a future date, the USA has been asking India to lower tariffs on many products, including almonds, chickpeas and bikes. It also wants greater access to India's dairy and agriculture markets.

Earlier, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said India and the US could finalise a larger trade deal "much faster" and expressed the hope they would soon be able to close the first set of limited trade package and its legal vetting.

"Hopefully, we will close the first set of the limited engagement that we have discussed and finalised. We will get into legal vetting and close that quickly," he said at a CII event.

Earlier at the Hyderabad House, Trump in a joint statement said a trade deal was in the works, but didn't elaborate.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the Commerce Ministers of both the countries had positive talks. "Both of us have decided that our teams should give legal shape to these trade talks. We have also agreed to open negotiations on a big trade deal," Modi said.

The US has also been complaining about trade deficit. In 2016, the US trade deficit with India was $24 billion. It came down to $22 billion in 2017 and is $20 billion now, as per the Commerce Ministry data. India expects this to decline with increasing oil and gas imports.

In the Budget for 2020-21, India also made changes to the Customs Act to insert certain unspecified obligations on the importer while expanding the ambit of preventing injury to domestic economy due to uncontrolled imports, inviting criticisms for being protectionist.

The Indo-US trade hit $142.6 billion in 2018, according to official US data, up from $11.2 billion in 1995. During the same period, the US goods and services trade deficit with India shot up from $2 billion to $25.2 billion, and hit a peak of $31 billion in 2014.

Recently, the US became India's top trading partner beating China.

In a tit-for-tat exchange in 2018, the US imposed fresh tariffs on aluminium and steel imports from several countries, including India.

New Delhi responded with a list of retaliatory tariffs, including on US almonds, chickpeas and apples, but held it off from applying.

Soon after, the Trump administration ended preferential tariffs for Indian exports and India responded by implementing the retaliatory tariffs.

Aarti Tikoo Singh

New Delhi, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) US President Donald Trump on Tuesday skirted all the controversies related to the ongoing violent protests against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government by saying that he has a great deal of faith in his leadership.

At the very outset of his press conference following his two-day whirlwind trip, he said, "I'm not going to be at all controversial because I don't want to blow up the two days plus two days of travel."

In response to the view that the Citizenship Amendment Act recently enacted by the Modi government promoted religious discrimination, Trump said, "We did talk about religious freedom, including that of Christians. Prime Minister Modi was incredible in what he told me. He wants people to have religious freedom. They have worked very hard to have great and open religious freedom. If you look at what's going on relatively in other countries, they have religious freedom."

Trump also said that he believed in Modi's leadership. Applauding Modi, he said the Prime Minister had given him a very powerful response. "He told me India has 200 million Muslims and a fairly short while ago, they had only 14 million. They are working very closely with the Muslim community," he said.

India, he said, has got a phenomenal future. "You can rarely think of a place that has a better future than India, especially with the leadership like Prime Minister Modi's," Trump said, adding that India is going to be a tremendous player over the next 50 or 100 years. "You are talking about the largest population in the world, also in terms of its heritage and potential wealth. They have great potential," Trump said.

On Pakistan sponsored cross-border terrorism, Trump said Prime Minister Modi and he talked a lot about it and he acknowledged that it is a problem.

"No question it's a problem, but it's a problem both India and Pakistan are working on," he said, adding that he has a very good relationship with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and he will do whatever he can to help.

He also reiterated his offer of mediation over the Kashmir issue between India and Pakistan. "Anything I can do to mediate and help, I'll do. Kashmir has been a thorn in a lot of people's sides for a long time. There are two sides to every story," he said.

On the US peace deal with the Taliban in Afghanistan, Trump said that India was supportive of it. "India and Prime Minister Modi would like to see it happen," he said, adding that the ceasefire (reduction of violence pact) was effective.

"We are pretty close to two days under our belt without violence, or a minimum of violence. People want to see it, everybody is happy about it, even people who are normally against me 99.9 per cent of the time, everybody would like to see it happen.

"People are really happy to see that we are trying very hard. We'll make a decision as to what the final outcome will be," Trump said in reference to the peace deal that is to be signed in four days.

Defending his decision, he said the US wasn't really serving as a military force but as a police force in Afghanistan. "But we are not a police force. After 19 years, we'd like to bring our young people back home, that is where they want to be. We'll always have intelligence there, we want to watch the area; the area is a hotbed of problems. If something happens, we will hit them hard," the US President said.

Conceding that it was not particularly a victory for the US, he said, "We could win easily if I wanted to kill millions of people but I don't want to kill people, I don't want to kill innocent people."

Throughout the press conference, he repeatedly and profusely praised India, Prime Minister Modi and the grand reception accorded to him at Ahmedabad's Motera stadium by over 110000 people on Monday.

New Delhi, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) US President Donald Trump said that he discussed an energy deal with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in their talks on Tuesday.

On the second and final day of his two-day visit, Trump held talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and an energy deal was among the various topics.

The President's statement assumes significance as India imports a significant portion of its energy needs from the US which has only increased in the past few years. The US is the sixth largest oil supplier to India.

US Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette on Tuesday said that oil supplies from the US to India have jumped 10-fold to 250,000 barrels per day (bpd) in the last few years.

Speaking at a business meeting alongside the US President, he said Indian imports of US oil were 25,000 bpd a couple of years ago, and have now risen to 250,000 bpd.

In the first half of the financial year 2019-20, US supplied 5.4 million tonnes of crude oil to India. India started to import crude oil from the US in 2017 in order to diversify its import basket beyond the OPEC nations.

The statement by Trump also comes at a time when both the countries are already in negotiations for a trade deal. Both India and the US have said that talks are on for a major trade deal between the two countries.

Addressing the media at a press conference here, the US President also said that the US will also reach a "comprehensive" IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) deal with India.

Trump also discussed business related issues with India's policy makers and industrialists.

On the current trade relations with India, he said that India has the highest tariffs in the world and that due to this, business cannot be conducted with it. He added that trade deficit has also been discussed.

On the upcoming Presidential elections in the US where he will be seeking a second term, Trump, a billionaire businessman with investments across the world, said that if he wins stock markets in America will jump by "thousands and thousands" of points.

New Delhi, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) US President Donald Trump on Tuesday warned that American stock markets will see a massive crash, if he was not re-elected in the Presidential elections slated for November 2020.

Speaking at a CEOs round table organised here at the US embassy, Trump told top honchos of India Inc that he feels that he will win the upcoming US Presidential elections.

At a round table which was attended by amongst others including RIL's Mukesh Ambani, Aditya Birla Group's Kumar Mangalam Birla and Tata Group's N. Chandrasekaran, he said that if he wins, the US stock markets will see a major rise, jumping up thousands of points, and if not, the markets will see an epic crash.

Trump said that the US economy was now performing very well and that the consumers there have more disposable incomes due to growing numbers of jobs.

However, the US might not sustain healthy economic performance, if he is not re-elected, he said, adding that the unemployment rates might soar if he is not voted back to office for a second term.

Enticing Indian investment in the US, he said that the US is going to reduce more regulations, and called upon India Inc to invest "billions" of dollars to reap the benefit of tax and regulation cuts that his administration has implemented.

At the business round table, he even talked about an upcoming tax cut for the American middle class and the fact that unemployment in the US was at a record low.

On industry specific areas, he pointed out that the US aluminium and steel industries would have died, if he had not been elected in 2016.

In addition, he said that governments can only aid in employment generation, but its is the private industry which actually creates jobs.

New Delhi, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) US President Donald Trump on Tuesday again offered to mediate between India and Pakistan on the Kashmir issue.

Addressing a press conference on Day 2 of his two-day state visit to India, Trump said, "Anything I can do to mediate or help, I would do."

Bringing in Pakistan's reference, he said, "They (Pakistan) are working on Kashmir. Kashmir has been a thorn in lots of people's sides for a long time. There are two sides to every story. We discussed terrorism at length today."

Earlier, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said, "Discussion was centred on positive developments in Jammu & Kashmir. Things are moving in the right direction."

Soon after the abrogation of Article 370 that granted special status to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir in August last year, Trump had offered to mediate the "explosive" situation in Kashmir amid mounting international concern over a flare-up in violence between India and Pakistan.

Trump had told reporters at the White House on August 21 last year: "Kashmir is a very complicated place. You have the Hindus, and you have the Muslims, and I wouldn't say they get along so great. And that's what you have right now.

"Kashmir is a very tough situation, and this has been going on for decades, and decades; shooting, and I don't mean shooting like shooting a rifle, but major shooting of howitzers, of heavy arms, and this has been going on for a long, long period of time.

"And I think we're helping the situation, but there's tremendous problems between the two countries. And I will do the best I can to mediate or do something."

Again in January this year on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Trump had repeated his mediation offer at an interaction with the press ahead of his meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.

"We will discuss the situation in Kashmir. We can meditate on the issue. If we can help, we certainly will be helping. We have been watching that and following it very very closely," he had said.

On both the occasions, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs had rejected the US President's offer, saying, "Kashmir is a bilateral issue and will have to be solved bilaterally."

New Delhi, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) US President Donald Trump on Tuesday discussed business related issues with India's policy makers and industrialists.

On the second and final day of his state visit to India, the President discussed the potential of trade, investment, protection of intellectual property rights, H1B visas, along with India's energy security, with policy makers here.

Besides talks, India entered into agreements to purchase $3 billion worth defence equipment such as military choppers from the US.

Importantly, the discussions centred around trade-related issues, with both sides, showing optimism to reach a much-awaited trade deal.

"Another major focus of my discussions with Prime Minister Modi is forging bilateral economic relationship that is fair and reciprocal," Trump said at a joint press conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Our teams have made tremendous progress on a comprehensive trade agreement and I'm optimistic we can reach a deal that will be of great importance to both countries."

According to Trump, since he assumed office, US exports to India are up nearly 60 per cent and "exports of high-quality American energy have grown by 500 per cent".

At present, India has a trade surplus with the US, and it is understood that discussions were held to bring down this down.

The US President further said that as India grows, "so do its energy needs".

"Yesterday, ExxonMobil signed a deal to improve India's natural gas distribution network so that the US can export even more LNG to India," he noted.

Lately, the US has emerged as a large LNG exporter to India.

Besides, Trump announced that the US will establish a permanent presence of the US International Development Finance Corporation in India.

Moreover, the two sides discussed the importance of a secure 5G wireless network.

Later during the day, Trump invited India Inc to invest "billions" of dollars in the US to reap the benefit of tax and regulation cuts that his administration has implemented, and to create jobs in the US.

He extended the invitation during an interaction with top honchos of India Inc including RIL's Mukesh Ambani, Aditya Birla Group's Kumar Mangalam Birla and Tata Group's N. Chandrasekaran amongst others at the business round table event organised at the US Embassy.

Talking about an upcoming tax cut for the American middle class and the fact that unemployment in the US was at a record low, Trump said that the US economy was performing very well and that the consumers there have more disposable incomes due to growing numbers of jobs.

He said that governments can only help in employment generation, but it is the private industry which actually creates jobs.

Trump also said that the US might not sustain healthy economic performance, if he is not re-elected in the Presidential polls this year and the unemployment rates might soare.

He also contented that a re-election will swell the stock markets, while a defeat will lead to a massive crash.

Islamabad, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday said the importance of US President Donald Trump's statement during his visit to India -- in which he said that the US has a "very good relationship" with Pakistan -- cannot be denied.

A day earlier, US President Donald Trump, while addressing a packed rally in Ahmedabad after his arrival in India on Monday, said the US has "a very good relationship" with Pakistan, the Dawn reported.

"Our relationship with Pakistan is a very good one. Thanks to these efforts, we are beginning to see signs of big progress with Pakistan and we are hopeful for reduced tensions, greater stability and the future of harmony for all of the nations of South Asia," Trump had said on the first day of his whirlwind 36-hour visit meant to reaffirm US-India ties.

In a statement released by the foreign minister's spokesperson on Tuesday, Qureshi said that Trump's remark about Pakistan was "extraordinary and its importance cannot be denied".

"Trump wants peace and stability in the region and has asked India to play a positive role in the area and extend a hand for promoting peace and stability in the region."

The Foreign Minister said that this will only be possible when the Kashmir issue is solved.

"The current Indian government has further complicated an already complicated problem. India's measures of August 5 have affected the identity of Kashmir and broken it into several parts.

"Kashmir has been under lockdown for 206 days. How can things progress in these conditions?" he questioned.

"Pakistan's stance on the disturbance caused by the Citizenship Amendment Act in India can be seen by what is happening in Delhi. If conditions worsen, the void of peace in the region can affect the whole world."

The minister added that India needs to "review its behaviour and policy".

Qureshi said Trump "made it clear that Pakistan is a partner of peace in the war against terrorism". He added that the progress Pakistan has made to defeat terrorism is exemplary.

"Pakistan's role in the Afghan peace process is there for the world to see... and Pakistan's role in the region is being commended.

"The Pakistan which India deemed to be a 'problem' is now being seen by the world as a 'solution'."

He congratulated the "people of Pakistan, the armed forces and the political leadership for the positive change".

Meanwhile, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan called "Trump's expression of friendship with Pakistan while standing in India is a big development".

In a tweet on Tuesday, Awan said that Trump's acknowledgement of Pakistan's positive role in the fight against terrorism has "buried the Indian stance".

In another tweet, Awan added that "the world's acknowledgement of Pakistan's efforts for regional and international peace is a manifestation of our successful foreign policy" and expressed hope that Trump would talk about the Kashmir issue.

New Delhi, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) US President Donald Trump on Tuesday glided through the India-Pakistan realpolitik of the subcontinent with uncharacteristic finesse.

Addressing the media, on the concluding day of his two-day state visit to India, Trump reiterated his offer to mediate between the two countries over the contentious issue of Kashmir.

Even as he acknowledged that India has a problem with terrorism emanating from Pakistan, Trump made it abundantly clear that he would like the two countries to sit down at the negotiating table to resolve the Kashmir issue.

Describing his relationship with Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Imran Khan as "so good", Trump expressed his willingness to help them resolve issues.

"We talked a lot about terrorism emanating from Pakistan at length. There is no question that it is a problem. They are working on it. I said I will do whatever I can do to help because my relationship with both gentlemen is so good," he said.

New Delhi, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) In a vote of confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Modi will take care of terror.

Speaking at a press conference here on the business leg of his visit to India, President Trump praising PM Modi said terror is foremost on PM Modi's mind and he will take care of it.

"PM Modi is a very religious and calm man. But he is actually a very tough person. I have seen him in action. And terror is foremost on his mind; he will take care of it, said Trump".

Talking about his own track record on crushing terrorism, Trump said, "I have done more than anyone else to destroy terrorism".

On the roadmap to address radical terrorism, Trump said that Russia, Iran, Iraq and Syria should also take action on it.

"We killed al-Baghdadi a few months ago. Qasem Soleimani is gone. Hamza Bin Laden (Osama's son) is gone. Nobody has done more than what I have done. But at the same time Russia, Iran, Iraq and Syria should do it too."

New Delhi, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said on Tuesday that India and the US have decided to fast track negotiations in moving towards a larger trade deal.

Goyal said India will close the first leg of limited engagements with US shortly and can move quickly on a larger trade deal with the US.

"Whatever deal will be done will be a win-win agreement, and from India's side US will be given such an offer which it will not be able to refuse," he said at the US-India Business Council organised by CII and USIBC.

"With US, we can do a much larger trade deal much faster... As both are true democracies, transparent. On that basis the nations have decided to engage on a fast track basis. We will have stakeholder consultations from both sides with industry groups on market access, opening up of services, investment protocols. I can assure what will be done, will be done in the best interests of both countries. It will be an offer, at least from our side, that the US cannot refuse," Goyal said.

The proposed deal he said will be much different from what India had signed earlier.

Earlier at the Hyderabad House, Trump at the joint statement said a trade deal in India is in the works but didn't share beyond that. Modi said the Commerce Ministers of both countries have had positive talks on trade.

"Both of us have decided that our teams should give legal shape to these trade talks. We also agreed to open negotiations on a big trade deal," Modi said.

By D.C. Pathak

Never has a US President -- as the leader of the oldest democracy -- showered such unadulterated praise and heartfelt appreciation on the Prime Minister of the largest democracy in the world, as Donald Trump did for Narendra Modi in his address at the jam-packed Motera stadium at Ahmedabad, on his maiden trip to India.

Declaring that "America loves India and will always be a friend of Indian people", he referred to the landslide victory of Modi in the "largest democratic election ever held any where in the world" and described India as a "miracle of democracy" with its diversities, noble people and a tolerant character.

He particularly extolled India for the freedom of worship that it gave to all communities. The US President referred to Prime Minister Modi as a "special friend" and contended that "America-India relationship was now inclusive and exhaustive and not just another relationship". Listing the achievements of Prime Minister Modi's governance he pointed out how "12 Indians were pulled out of poverty every minute" and how every village now had electricity.

Highlighting the new level of defence cooperation between US and India he reiterated that he and Prime Minister Modi were working for the biggest economic deal -- adding in jest that Modi was a tough negotiator.

A notable part of Trump's speech was his categorical denunciation of radical Islamic terror as the biggest threat to both India and US and an affirmation upfront of their expectation that Pakistan must crack down on the terrorists operating from its soil.

The President declared that the US had destroyed the Caliphate in Syria and recalled how its founder Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was eliminated. This zero tolerance towards Islamic extremism and terrorism remains one of the most important binding factors in the India-US relations under the Trump regime.

It is unfortunate that in many tinted writings of strategic analysts during the run up to the Trump visit, the "inadequacies" of trade relationship between the two countries were selectively highlighted to create a construed negativity around it and the high visibility of the "Namaste Trump" event in Ahmedabad -- that has expectantly added to the credentials of India on the world stage and put a seal of continuity on Indo-US strategic partnership -- decried for no reason. What is worse, the American President was ridiculed in an undignified manner just out of spite for the proven friendship Prime Minister Modi had built with him to strengthen this country's economic and defence perspectives.

The 'big picture' around the visit is that Indo-US relations have bloomed to the advantage of both the countries during the Modi regime, that they are propelled by the top men on both sides whose personal chemistry had brought about an exceptional convergence on strategic goals and that on economic and trade issues the two largest democracies had a basic understanding that mutually beneficial solutions could always be found with further negotiations. For the first time in the post-Cold War era India is handling the US without an ideological baggage and consciously opting for some give and take to advance our national interests in the spheres of both development and security.

The opposition here spent a lot of energy to run down Modi government for doing a lot of paint work to make up the 'atmospherics' for the drive of the US presidential cavalcade at Ahmadabad and for creating the optics of a spectacle for the 'Namaste Trump' event to match the 'Howdy Modi' of Houston last year. This sounded petty.

The opposition also prematurely talked of 'failure' of the Modi government to clinch a comprehensive trade deal with the US at one go- forgetting that US has emerged as the biggest trading partner of India leaving China behind and that India continued to have a trade surplus in relation to America. All of this unfair criticism was a sad reflection of our domestic politics in which the opposition would take to a total denunciation of whatever the Modi government did to deal with the world outside.

The fact is that on foreign and national security policies India has done exceptionally well under Modi's leadership and a proof of this is the success achieved by India in isolating Pakistan in the international community on the issue of the new faith-based global terror that was being fostered from its soil. For India the prime threat to national security emanates from cross border terrorism -- that was keeping Kashmir on the boil -- and it goes to the credit of our foreign policy and national security handlers that they succeeded in getting Trump -- who luckily for India has a visceral dislike of Islamic extremism himself -- to abandon the American policy of making a distinction between 'good terrorists' and 'bad terrorists' which had in the past, given a leeway to Pakistan at the cost of India.

As far as economic deals are concerned Prime Minister Modi's acumen for pushing the national gains ahead can match the will and skills of any other leader of the world -- this was openly acknowledged by Trump in his Ahmedabad speech. Prime Minister Modi indeed has the ability to get over the bureaucratic recalcitrance on either side by engaging his counterpart in a personal discussion and review -- this is something that did not go unnoticed in the context of the Trump visit.

At the Motera stadium, President Trump defined the basic approach that gave positivity to India-US relations -- he said that both Modi and he wanted to do what they believed was in the best interests of their people. This made for the continuity of talks on trade and commerce as also on strategic issues.

President Donald Trump's visit to India with his family has not only added to the visibility of US' friendly ties with this country but has also enhanced his standing at home in an election year because of the expectation of an increased support for him from Indians settled in the US. The visit hit the global headlines for its geo-political significance for this part of the world where competing interests of Russia and China also come into play and underscored India's position as one of the prime movers particularly in the Indo-Pacific context.

The visit reportedly, fast tracked the talks for the finalisation of the Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement (BECA) that would allow India and the US to exchange geospatial maps to get pinpointed military accuracy of automated hardware systems and weapons such as cruise and ballistic missiles. President Trump announced in Ahmedabad itself that a $3 billion deal signed for the supply of Sikorsky and Apache attack helicopters to India.

Talks in Delhi also focussed on terrorism and ways and means of the two countries jointly tackling the common threat. It is hoped that apart from Intelligence exchange, a track would be created for interaction between the special knowledge people on both sides for an ongoing study of the roots of Islamic radicalism and the pattern of its spread as well as formulation of 'de-radicalisation' programmes. India unlike US has no comfort of distance in facing the new global terror and is better placed for understanding the nuances of the problem and keeping both strategic partners on the same grid on this threat.

Speaking alongside Prime Minister Modi for a joint statement at Delhi, President Trump talked of the 'majesty' of India and the grand hospitality received by his family, expressed his optimism about a comprehensive trade deal with India and went at some length to enumerate the agreements that had been reached for expanding defence cooperation and improving partnership in energy sector, healthcare and homeland security. He gave out that he and Prime Minister Modi were working together for a free and balanced Indo-Pacific region.

He specifically mentioned the advance made by the two countries in jointly defending their people against radical Islamic terror and getting Pakistan to take full and effective action against the terrorists operating from its soil. There is little doubt that the maiden visit of President Trump would do a lot to benefit the two countries both in the economic sphere as well as the security domain. The two largest democracies of the world are likely to work together as 'natural partners' in a transparent way under the leadership of Trump and Modi whose personal equation with each other and the known commitment to their respective countries provide a strong foundation for the Indo-US friendship as it exists today.

New Delhi, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) US President Donald Trump gave a huge push to the Indo-US relations, terming it a "Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership".

In the joint statement after talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Hyderabad House here, President Trump said the two countries have agreed on a new mechanism to counter and contain the menace of drug trafficking.

Defence deals worth $3 billion involving the purchase of advanced American military equipment, including Apache and MH-60 Romeo Helicopters, were also announced in a press statement.

As Trump stressed that the two nations never had a better relation as under him and PM Modi, India's Ministry of External Affairs said that India and the US reiterated a "strong strategic partnership" in defence.

It added that a legal framework on trade will materialise soon.

New Delhi, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) Commending Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani for transforming India's telecom sector and his strategic investment in the energy sector in the US, President Donald Trump on Tuesday invited him to invest in his tax-friendly country.

"Great job you have done. Thank you," Trump told Ambani who briefed him about the RIL investment in the US and India business at the CEO roundtable event organised at the US Embassy here.

"We are investors in the United States in the energy sector and have invested $7 billion towards that," Ambani told Trump who immediately replied: "$7 billion, yeah, big one."

Trump then asked him: "You're doing 4G. Are you going to do 5G too?"

Ambani said that Reliance Jio is the only network in the world that doesn't have a single Chinese equipment manufacturer for the 5G trials.

To this, Trump chuckled: "That's good! Put a bid in one?"

India's leading telecom operator Reliance Jio has only partnered with non-Chinese equipment manufacturers like Samsung to date.

Ambani applauded Trump for low tax rates in the US that makes the country a business-friendly destination.

"All of us in the business community are really supportive. We do acquisitions in the US and they're getting approved fast and we hope that will continue for the Indian companies," said the RIL Chairman.

Trump said this would happen only till he is there as the US President.

"It will happen till I am there but if the wrong one gets elected, that won't happen at all. Everything will come to a halt, your unemployment rate will come to 8 or 9 or 10 (per cent) and a lot of bad things will happen," the US President told the gathering.

"I think we are the favourites to win," he added, saying that some say 65 per cent people want him to come back to power but the rest 35 per cent still don't.

"It would be devastating as the economy has never been as good as today," Trump told the packed room.

New Delhi, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday said that the road to becoming a $5 trillion economy will be getting investments in India and these will be a natural corollary of "peace in the region".

The minister's remark comes amid violence in Delhi over the CAA even as the country is hosting US President Donald Trump on his first state visit.

Goyal was speaking at the US India Forum here on India's ambition to drive out poverty and becoming a $5 trillion economy under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Although Union Home Minister Amit Shah met Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to discuss steps to end violence in northeast Delhi, there were fresh reports coming of stone pelting from various areas there.

Reports of violence and arson continue to trickle in from the affected areas as hospital officials confirmed that nine people, including a police head constable, have died in the rioting that has continued sporadically across several localities since Saturday.

For security reasons, the Delhi Police has ordered metro stations in the violence-prone areas to be closed. The entrance and exit gates of Jaffarabad, Maujpur-Babarpur, Gokulpuri, Johri Enclave and Shiv Vihar metro stations have been closed.

These areas witnessed violence and arson on Monday and these metro stations have been closed so that the unruly elements from outside do not enter.

New Delhi, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) US President Donald Trump invited India Inc to invest "billions" of dollars in the US to reap the benefit of tax and regulation cuts that his administrations has implemented.

On Tuesday, the second and final day of his visit, Trump interacted with top honchos of India Inc including RIL's Mukesh Ambani, Aditya Birla Group's Kumar Mangalam Birla and Tata Group's N. Chandrasekaran amongst others at the business round table event organised at the US Embassy here.

Inviting India Inc to invest in the US economy to create jobs, he talked about an upcoming tax cut for the American middle class and how that unemployment in the US was at a record low.

The President said that the US economy was performing very well and that the consumers there have more disposable incomes due to growing numbers of jobs.

Thanking Indian industry for creating jobs in the US, he said that governments can only aid in employment generation, but its is the private industry which actually creates jobs.

However, the US might not sustain healthy economic performance, if he is not re-elected, he said, adding the unemployment rates might soar if he doesn't get a second term.

On the markets, Trump contended that his re-election will swell the stock markets, while a defeat will lead to a massive crash.

The US Presidential Election is scheduled during the November this year.

Regarding the outbreak of Coronavirus, the US President said that situation is expected to soon come under control as Chinese authorities are taking steps to contain the situation.

New Delhi, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) In a major setback to the Imran Khan government, President Donald Trump on Tuesday reiterated that India and the US were together in their fight against "radical Islamic terrorism" and his government was committed to "confront" terrorists operating from Pakistan's soil.

In a joint press briefing of the US and India, President Trump at Hyderabad House in the capital said during his discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, "the two countries agreed to protect their citizens from radical Islamic terrorism".

"The US is also working productively with Pakistan to confront terrorists who operate on its soil."

The President's scathing attack against Islamabad and holding it responsible for terror groups operating from Pakistan's soil, comes a day after he said, during his Ahmedabad visit, that the US has very good relations with Pakistan.

During the briefing, both Trump and Modi reaffirmed their commitment to US-India strategic partnership in all areas from defence to women empowerment.

The US President said that during their discussions in New Delhi today, the two countries have agreed to expanded defence cooperation. India, he said, is "to purchase more than $3 billion of advance American military equipment, Apache and MH60 Romeo helicopters, the finest in the world."

These deals, he said, will enhance the US-India joint defence capability as militaries of the countries continue to train and operate side by side.

President Trump said that together with PM Modi, they were revitalising the QUAD initiative with US, India, Australia and Japan. He said the first ministerial meeting on QUAD was "so much more than a meeting" because they had agreed to cooperate on counter-terrorism, cyber security and maritime security for a free and open Indo-Pacific region.

As India grows, he said, its energy needs will rise too. The President revealed that Exxon Mobil had signed a deal "to improve India's natural gas distribution network so that the US can export even more LNG to India."

Trump also announced the setting up of a permanent office for the US International Finance Development Cooperation in New Delhi which will help develop and empower women entrepreneurs in India.

New Delhi, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) Under the right watch of the US secret service agents and children waving Indian and US flags, US first lady Melania Trump reached Sarvodaya school in Delhi's Moti Bagh area on Tuesday noon to witness Delhi government-run school's happiness curriculum.

Wearing a Tilak, Melania Trump walked into the school and shook hands with a young student before being taken away inside for a tour where she experienced the happiness curriculum first hand. There were 24 students in the class of happiness curriculum that Melania Trump attended.

"I cannot think of a better way for all of us to start our day than this," the First Lady said after witnessing the curriculum. She said that she was "inspired" by the happiness curriculum.

She advised students to be "good to each other" through their life and thanked the teachers for inculcating good values in them.

The US earlier on Sunday said that the political controversy around First Lady Melania Trump visiting a Delhi school was baseless.

After the ruling party in Delhi -- the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) cried foul after the names of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia were dropped from Melania Trump's visit to a school which runs Delhi government's 'happiness curriculum, the US embassy in New Delhi said, that while it "had no objection to the presence of the chief minister and deputy chief minister, we appreciate their recognition that this is not a political event." A spokesperson for the embassy said that "it is best to ensure focus is on education, school and students."

Slovenian-born model-turned-social activist, Melania, 50, moved to the US in 1996 and is the only First Lady to become a naturalized US citizen. Mother of Barron Trump, Melania spends a lot of her time on her campaign against drug abuse and for the well-being of children.

Following the major mass shootings at Las Vegas and Parkland, Melania along with President Trump visited the victims and their families. On her foreign trips, she often visits hospitals and schools.

New Delhi, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) US President Donald Trump will ask the Indian companies with business interests in his country to expand their current capacity with local resources, and use America as a gateway to access other markets when he meets Indian industrialists on Tuesday.

He is likely to exhort the industrialists to invest more in their US subsidiaries, and create jobs there, sounding an economic revival there.

"The US President especially will be focussing on Indian manufacturing companies pitching US as a win-win situation for them and America as well," said a senior executive of a leading Indian Industry chamber.

The US economy rebounded in Q4 after prolonged sluggish productivity slowed the American economy to achieve the Trump administration's target of 3 per cent annual growth. The economy grew 2.3 per cent in 2019, the slowest in three years, after logging 2.9 per cent in 2018. The President's quick trip may not though see any trade pact, but Trump said there will be a 3 billion dollar defence deal with India.

Trump in an election year is on visit to India for two days.

Some Indian manufacturing as well as services firms have noticeable presence in the US like Mahindra which last year said it will invest another $1 billion in America and was committed to creating American jobs, while Bharat Forge has announced plans to invest $56 million to set up a new plant in North Carolina. Construction equipment major L&T has two delivery centres in the US.

The Tata Group is one of the largest Indian-headquartered multinationals in North America, with 13 companies and more than 35,000 employees.

Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani, Bharti Airtel chairman Sunil Mittal, Tata Sons chairman N. Chandrasekaran, Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro chairman A.M. Naik and Biocon CMD Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw will be among the CEOs who will be part of the roundtable in Delhi with Trump.

Trump, who on Monday hinted at working with India on a "fantastic and largest-ever deal" and that Indo-US trade grew 40 per cent and the US economy has done well during his tenure of the last four years, is seeking investments from Indian companies mainly manufacturing ones to create jobs.

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 25 (SocialNews.XYZ) If you firmly believe that stars and planets and their movement in the celestial space can play a vital role in the relations of two nations, there is good news: A Kerala numerologist has predicted the dawn of a new era in the Indo-US relations with the visit of US President Donald Trump.

M.K. Damodaran -- a 67-year-old retired government employee -- claimed on Tuesday that his prediction is based on the calculations he arrived at after considering the dates of birth of Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said his past predictions that came true include India's victory in the 2011 Cricket World Cup, and US topping the medal tally in the 2012 London Olympics.

Damodaran said that the birth number of both leaders is 5, which represents planet Mercury. Besides the sun sign of Trump is Gemini, which is owned by planet Mercury which is represented by number 5.

Likewise, he claimed, Modi's sun sign Virgo is owned by Mercury, and is also related to number 5.

Drawing a comparison with India-US relations during the rules of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Bill Clinton in the two countries, he said that even then their numerological connection was good.

Besides, he claimed, the occult number of Donald Trump is 3, the same as India's.
