Urmila was seen doing a special appearance in the song, however, she was not a part of the core cast of the drama.

'Lajja' shares the tale of four women — Vaidehi, Maithili, Janki, and Ramdulari — each struggling against patriarchy, abuse, and social injustice in their own way. It must also be noted that all these names are versions of Sita.

Mumbai, September 2 (SocialNews.XYZ) Ace filmmaker Subhash Ghai revisited his 1999 musical romantic drama ‘Taal’, recalling how the film brought together relatively new actors Aishwarya Rai and Akshaye Khanna with veteran actor Anil Kapoor.

Emphasising that its music, soundscape and larger-than-life visuals were a significant part of its storytelling, Subhash Ghai took to his social media account to share his thoughts on the film and said that he has never viewed 'Taal' as something meant for small screens.

Stressing that his films are conceived as theatrical experiences, he wrote, “I cud never think of cinema for small screens as a motion picture director as my camera has to give an experience of soundscape n larger visuals to the audience in theatres on big screens only. So I can never visualise a story telling as a pocket play. Even taal had new stars like Aishwarya n Akshaye Khanna with veteran anil kapoor. But music soundscape along with visuals were larger than life n it justified its story. So the crux is BIG SCREEN CINEMA IS BK. So I am on it. (sic) ”

The filmmaker's post was accompanied by a striking Taal poster featuring Aishwarya Rai, now Bachchan in a white outfit against a red backdrop.

Talking about Taal, the blockbuster hit released on August 13, 1999, and starred Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Akshaye Khanna and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles, with Amrish Puri and Alok Nath in pivotal supporting parts.

Subhash Ghai directed, produced, co-wrote and edited the film, while A.R. Rahman composed its music.

The film revolves around Mansi, a talented folk singer and dancer from Himachal Pradesh, played by Aishwarya. She falls in love with Manav, the son of a wealthy businessman, portrayed by Akshaye.

Their relationship takes a turn when Mansi and her father Tarababu are humiliated by Manav's family after visiting them in Mumbai.

Hurt by the ill treatment, Mansi decides to carve out her own identity and destiny brings her to join Vikrant, a successful music composer and entertainment-company head played by Anil Kapoor.

It kickstarts her journey from a small-town performer to a celebrated artist.

A major part of Taal's appeal was its soundtrack. With Rahman's compositions, and lyrics by Anand Bakshi, it included songs such as ‘Taal Se Taal Mila’, ‘Ishq Bina’, ‘Nahin Saamne’, ‘Ramta Jogi’ and ‘Ni Main Samajh Gayi’, the soundtrack became a major success and remains closely associated with the film.

The union marks another collaboration between the two production houses following the success of projects Shaitaan and Raid 2.

Headlined by Ajay Devgn and directed by Rohit Jugraj, the film is being jointly produced by Ajay Devgn, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak.

The makers have not yet revealed the title or details of the film's plot, but have described it as an intense and atmospheric horror thriller that will explore a new world of mystery, fear and suspense.

The project reunites Devgn Films and Panorama Studios, whose association previously resulted in Shaitaan, the 2024 supernatural horror film that starred Devgn alongside R. Madhavan and Jyotika.

Director Rohit Jugraj, known for working across different genres, has previously helmed the Punjabi Sardaar Ji franchise as well as the SonyLIV series Chamak and Netflix series Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein.

On the professional front, Ajay Devgn is now all set for the release of his upcoming movie Drishyam: The Conclusion, which would be the third and final instalment of the Hindi Drishyam franchise.

He will be seen reprising his popular role as Vijay Salgaonkar and the film, directed by Abhishek Pathak, also starrs Tabu and Shriya Saran along with Ishita Dutta.

The movie is scheduled to release in theatres on October 2, 2026.

Devgn was most recently seen in Dhamaal 4, which released in July 2026 which received mixed responses from critics and audiences alike.

The designer of the set, Varsha Jain, claimed that it took them months to lock in a place to build the set.

She further added that hundreds of people worked tirelessly for a month to build this arena.

Varsha said, “Creating the set of India Ke Top 1% has been an incredibly exciting and creatively satisfying experience. To give the show a premium, larger-than-life feel, we explored multiple options for almost two to three months before finalizing this space. It then took us another month, along with the hard work of hundreds of people, to build the entire arena. Every element has been carefully designed and handcrafted down to the finest detail."

She explained that despite using advanced technology, they made sure that the set did not feel intimidating.

"We wanted the set to feel glossy and futuristic, but also warm, fun and inviting. For me, the individual status lighting, which changes with each contestant’s journey, and the circular LED floor, which brings the gameplay and percentage levels alive, are the biggest highlights. Despite the scale and technology, the set never feels intimidating, and that balance is what makes it truly special,” Varsha added.

The show will bring together students, homemakers, shopkeepers, YouTubers, magicians and real estate agents under a single roof.

The cameras will cover every corner of the set, leaving no blind spots. The arena will also have 100 individual tablets so that the contestants can play in Hindi or English. Huge screens have been included to keep everyone connected with the ongoing action.

The highlight of the show is the LED floor, which will show the gameplay graphics and changing percentage levels as contestants move closer to the Top 1%.

Hosted by Anil Kapoor, 'India Ke Top 1%' is scheduled to premiere on 19th September this year at 8 PM on Star Plus and JioHotstar.

For me, the comedy comes from watching ordinary people find themselves in the middle of chaos that is completely beyond their control. Recalling the tiny balcony where she grew roses, the Yaadein actor reflected on how the beauty of the flowers and their thorns taught him an early lesson about life. Jackie revelled that it helped him understand that pain and happiness often exist side by side.

Sharing a memory from the past, Jackie told IANS, “My mother was very fond of flowers. In a 10-by-10 room, there was a tiny little balcony. She used to grow roses there, and she loved those roses. I could see the thorns too. I could see the roses too. So, I saw all these things there and I understood that there is pain as well as happiness.”

The ‘Karma’ actor also spoke about developing a bond with the soil. “I became friends with the soil. I understood that my mother would water it, give it a little sunlight…Then I realised, as I grew older, where did my brother go? He went into the soil. And when I understood that he had gone into the soil, I started becoming friends with the soil. I started loving my soil. I want to save topsoil, which is not there anymore. There was so much talk about topsoil for a while, and then everyone became quiet about it,” added Jackie.

Shroff also urged everyone to carry the idea forward. “Every child should know that topsoil is the only thing that gives us food. Beneath it, there is all kinds of soil, but there is topsoil. How much topsoil do we actually have? Does anyone know? Look it up sometime in a book and see how much topsoil is actually left on Earth. We keep walking around, enjoying ourselves on this Earth, but we need to respect the Earth. We keep trampling it under our feet as we walk, but look at that Mother Earth. She is protecting us.”

Concluding his thoughts, Jackie Shroff emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy connection with the soil and the environment. “When I go into the ground, everything will become part of the soil. So, let’s be friends with the soil. That’s why we are here, basically. Enjoy your life, but don’t enjoy life by doing things that you are not supposed to do. Reflecting on his journey, Muzammil said that there is no point in constantly looking back, as an actor’s career is an ongoing process with no fixed destination. He stated, “First of all, you should not look back. As far as the journey is concerned, it is a continuous journey. There is no fixed destination. You learn a lot from it. You get a chance to do things that you didn’t want to do, and you get a chance to do them again.”

“You get a chance to do things that you didn’t want to do. But you have to be consistent. You have to put in the work, be it in any medium, be it theatre. You have to keep on being consistent, which is very important as an actor.”

Muzammil Ibrahim made his acting debut in 2007 as the lead in “Dhokha,” an action thriller directed by Pooja Bhatt. He later appeared in several music videos, including “Pardesiya” alongside Rakhi Sawant and Lucky Ali’s popular track “Kabhi Aisa Lagta Hai.”

Ibrahim went on to feature in several films and television projects. In Horn 'Ok' Pleassss, he played the lead double role of Ajay in the comedy film. He later portrayed Nikhil Ahuja in the romantic comedy “Will You Marry Me?” Muzammil also appeared in the popular web series “Special OPS,” where he played RAW agent Avinash, also known as ACP Zaid Ahmed Khan.

Mumbai, Sept 2 (SocialNews.XYZ) Actress Sara Ali Khan, on Wednesday, shared glimpses from her visit to Tso Moriri, one of Ladakh’s most breathtaking high-altitude lakes.

The ‘Simmba’ actress appeared to be enjoying a peaceful escape surrounded by the region’s dramatic landscapes and pristine natural beauty. Sharing moments from her getaway on social media, Sara captioned the post, “Unbound, unbothered, and untamed.” Her pictures perfectly captured the free-spirited mood of the travel pictures.

In the photos, Sara Ali Khan can be seen posing beside the serene Tso Moriri lake, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views. The accompanying videos capture panoramic views from the hilltops, with clouds drifting between the majestic mountains. One of the pictures also shows Sara sitting beside a warm bonfire, adding a cosy touch to her otherwise adventurous getaway.

Known for her love of travel and exploring new destinations, Sara often gives fans a peek into her adventures through social media. Her latest Tso Moriri diaries once again offered a glimpse of the actress embracing the tranquillity and raw beauty of the mountains.

Previously, Sara Ali Khan had shared glimpses from her Raksha Bandhan celebrations, giving a peek into how she marked the festival with her family. The ‘Kedarnath’ actress, along with her brother Ibrahim Ali Khan, joined her father Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Soha Ali Khan, and Saba Ali Khan for the Pataudi family’s Raksha Bandhan celebration this year.

Work-wise, Sara Ali Khan’s most recent appearance was in Mudassar Aziz’s romantic comedy “Pati Patni Aur Woh Do.” The film, which also featured Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Wamiqa Gabbi, was released in theatres on May 15, 2026.

Before that, Sara Ali Khan appeared in Anurag Basu’s romantic drama “Metro... In Dino” (2025), which featured an ensemble cast including, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, and Fatima Sana Shaikh.

Mumbai, Sep 2 (SocialNews.XYZ) Papon has released his latest track titled “Apni Uljhan”, a song that explores the complexities of love, separation and the journey of finding oneself after a relationship comes to an end. The Singer-composer explained the essence of the track and said that sometimes healing can look like change to the people who knew you before.

Talking about the song, Papon said in a statement: “I really connected with the emotion behind Apni Uljhan’s lyrics because it speaks about that phase in life when you are trying to come out of your own confusion and learning to hold yourself together, and it’s one of my favourite tracks from Sar e Shaam album.”

Penned by lyricist Vaibhav Modi, Apni Uljhan delves into the perspective of someone who is gradually emerging from their emotional conflicts and learning to find balance within themselves.

At its heart, the song captures a familiar yet unspoken feeling, when the process of healing and moving forward is perceived by someone from the past as a change in personality, as per a statement.

“This Ghazal has more traditional approach in melody and minimal arrangement. Sometimes healing can look like change to the people who knew you before, and I think the song captures that emotion very honestly,” Papon added.

The track explores the space between letting go and still being emotionally affected by a relationship. Its poetry carries a sense of vulnerability, self-discovery and quiet resilience, making Apni Uljhan a relatable ode to anyone who has struggled to move on while finding their way back to themselves.

Papon started his journey in music in 1998 with the Assamese song "Nasaba Sokule" from the album Snigdha Junak. He released his first album, Junaki Raati in 2004.

Papon made his debut in Bollywood with the song "Om mantra" from the film Strings - bound by faith in 2006. In 2011, his song was "Jiyein Kyun" from the movie Dum Maro Dum which was his first big hit. In 2014, he sang "Lakeerein", which is a poem by Gulzar, for the film Kya Dilli Kya Lahore and "Sun RI Bavli" for Nagesh Kukunoor's film Lakshmi.

He sang "Moh moh ke dhage" for the 2015 film Dum Laga Ke Haisha and "Humnava" in Hamari Adhuri Kahani. In 2016, he sang "Bulleya" for the film Sultan.

Mumbai, September 2 (SocialNews.XYZ) Actress Nimisha Sajayan revealed that the impact of The Great Indian Kitchen went beyond the women who connected with its story.

The actress, in am exclusive conversation with IANS, said she received messages from men who told her that they had started doing their own household chores after watching the film.

Speaking about the response to the 2021 Malayalam film, Nimisha said she received messages from men telling her that they had begun washing their own tiffin boxes before heading home.

“I think in today's society, women are independent, strong, they keep taking care of themselves. So I think after the release of Great Indian Kitchen, I got many messages from men saying that ‘listen, now we wash our tiffin after going home’, you know, because after the film, you know, I can see that shift,” Nimisha said.

The actress stressed that the film was never simply about portraying women as victims, but was instead intended to make audiences question the way women are treated and how their efforts are often taken for granted.

“It's not about bechari women, it was more about the way men treat women, how you take things for granted,” she added.

Nimisha was speaking about the film's impact when she was asked if she had watched its Hindi remake, Mrs, which starred Sanya Malhotra in the lead. The actress said she had not had the opportunity to watch it.

The Great Indian Kitchen was released directly on OTT in January 2021 and starred Nimisha alongside Suraj Venjaramoodu. The film revolved around an educated woman who enters an arranged marriage and gradually finds herself trapped in a deeply patriarchal household, where domestic chores, cooking and serving the men are treated as her unquestioned responsibilities.

Nimisha has now moved into another woman-centric story with Babita Singh Reporting, which premiered on August 28.

The film follows Babita, an underestimated police officer who becomes involved in investigating the murder of her childhood friend while simultaneously dealing with complications in her personal and marital life.

Mumbai, Sep 2 (SocialNews.XYZ) On Sadhana’s 85th birth anniversary on Wednesday, Saira Banu remembered the late star and tagged her as “one of the finest artists of Indian cinema.”

Saira took to Instagram, where she shared a string of throwback images featuring her along with Sadhana and other stars including Raj Kapoor and Mala Sinha.

“In loving memory of Sadhana on her birthday. One of the finest artists of Indian cinema, and a presence of rare warmth and grace,” she wrote as the caption.

Saira then spoke about her work “Woh Kaun Thi” “Mera Saya” and “Waqt”.

“She was, without doubt, one of S Mukherjee’s Filmalaya Studios finest creations, an artist whose fine work in “Woh Kaun Thi” “Mera Saya” and “Waqt” still remains timeless in people’s hearts and memories forever (sic),” she wrote.

Sadhana first had an uncredited appearance in Shree 420, which released in 1955. She then featured in director Sashadhar Mukherjee's Love In Simla, where her hairstyle became a rage and came to be known as "Sadhana Cut".

Sadhana went on to star in films such as Parakh, Hum Dono, Asli-Naqli, Ek Musafir Ek Haseena, Mere Mehboob, Woh Kaun Thi?, Arzoo, Waqt and Mera Saaya

In 1974, the actress made her directorial debut with the crime thriller Geetaa Mera Naam, and later withdrew from acting.

Her final screen appearance was Ulfat Ki Nayi Manzilein, which hit the screens in 1994. Sadhana passed away in 2015, aged 74.

Meanwhile, Saira too is one of the finest actors of Hindi cinema. She made her acting debut with Junglee in 1961. The actress shot to major fame with her work in films such as Shagird, Diwana, Sagina, Ayee Milan Ki Bela, Padosan, Hera Pheri, Gopi. Her final film before retirement was Faisla in 1988.

Banu, who was married to legendary star Dilip Kumar, also worked as a producer for the Bhojpuri film Ab To Banja Sajanwa Hamaar. She is also regarded as one of the beautiful actresses of Hindi cinema and in 2022, the star was placed in "75 Best Bollywood Actresses" list.

Mumbai, September 2 (SocialNews.XYZ) Actor Chunky Pandey recalled filmmaker David Dhawan's infectious enthusiasm on the sets.

The actor revealed that the director would sometimes get so involved in a scene that people had to hold him back from entering the frame.

Chunky opened up about his experience of working with the filmmaker on the upcoming episode of Sony Entertainment Television's India's Best Dancer Season 5. He also called David one of the best directors he has worked with.

Recalling the time when filmmaking did not involve monitors and the technology available today, Chunky said, “Ek cheez main bataun, jab woh shoot karte hain na, hamare zamaane mein monitor yeh sab technology nahi thi. Toh director ‘Start, sound, camera, action!’ action mein logon ko David ko pakadna padta tha because woh almost frame mein aa jaate the jab shots chalu the, because woh itne khud excited ho jaate the scene ke saath. I think he is one of the best directors I have ever worked with. Aur woh khud pehle editor the na, toh unki editing shooting ke waqt hi ho jaati thi.”

(Let me tell you one thing, when he used to shoot, in our time there were no monitors or technology like that. So after the director said, ‘Start, sound, camera, action!’, during the action, people had to hold David back because he would almost enter the frame while the shots were being filmed. He would get so excited with the scene himself. I think he is one of the best directors I have ever worked with. And he was an editor first, so his editing would happen while he was shooting itself)

Adding to Chunky's anecdote, actress Karisma Kapoor spoke about David's ability to visualise a scene completely in his mind and his instinctive understanding of comedy.

She said, “Unke dimaag mein chalta tha unka scene, and comedy hoti hai toh he is editing, that's why he is so good in comedy also.”

(The scene would play out in his mind, and when it came to comedy, he would be editing it in his head. That's why he is so good at comedy as well)

For the uninitiated, David Dhawan and Chunky Pandey have worked together on films including Aankhen in 1993, which also starred Govinda and Chunky in prominent roles, and Rascals in 2011. Their professional association also extends to David's latest directorial, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.

David Dhawan's association with Govinda and Karisma Kapoor, meanwhile, produced some of the most popular comic entertainers of the 1990s. The filmmaker, Govinda and Karisma worked together on films including Raja Babu, Coolie No. 1, Saajan Chale Sasural, Hero No. 1 and Haseena Maan Jaayegi.

David had earlier stated that Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, starring his son Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde, would be his final directorial venture.

Through an awareness video, the actress urged parents to stay informed about the serious illness and consult their paediatricians about vaccination. In a recent awareness video, Gauahar spoke about the importance of being informed about the disease and taking preventive measures. Sharing her message on Instagram, the ‘Bigg Boss season 7’ winner said that one of the biggest concerns for parents is the possibility of serious illnesses affecting their children.

Posting her video, Gauahar wrote, “As parents, we do everything we can to protect the moments our children will cherish forever. That’s why awareness and timely vaccination matter. Meningococcal Meningitis can progress rapidly, but prevention through vaccination can help protect your child.”

“If your child is 9 months or older, speak to your paediatrician about Meningococcal Meningitis and vaccination. Because some moments are worth preserving… and some are worth preventing. Meningococcal Meningitis ka Vaccination Zaroori Hai!.”

In the video, she said, “As parents, we dream of filling our children's lives with moments they'll cherish forever. Unki pehli smile, bedtime stories, laughter and endless love. And if there's one thing that every parent worries about and would never want for their child, it is the uncertainty of silent diseases.”

“When I visited my paediatrician, I learned about meningococcal meningitis. It is a type of brain fever that damages the outer lining of the brain and the spine and can claim a child's life within 24 hours of the first symptom appearing. It's a threat that affects one life every two minutes globally.”

“But my paediatrician pointed out that bhale hi meningococcal meningitis ko treat karna bahut mushkil hai, par isse prevent karna bada hi aasaan hai through timely vaccination. This vaccine has been trusted for more than 50 years. Also, this vaccine has been recommended in more than 50 countries, such as the US, UK and India. Humne bhi apne bachche ko vaccinate karwa diya hai.”

Because while some moments are worth preserving, others are worth preventing. So, if your child is nine months or older, consult your paediatrician about meningococcal meningitis and its vaccination. Kyunki meningococcal meningitis ka vaccination zaroori hai,” said Gauahar.

Gauahar Khan and her husband, Zaid Darbar, are parents to two boys. The couple welcomed their elder son, Zehaan, on May 10, 2023, followed by the birth of their younger son, Farwaan, on September 1, 2025.
