The glimpse video released begins with government authorities getting a tip off about gold being smuggled into Coimbatore. But then, the magnitude of the whole operation is so huge that even authorities feel that a crime of this proportion is not possible. We hear an officer saying, "Is this cinema for them to smuggle gold in lorries from one state to another?"

Even as gold prices continue to soar consistently, we hear one of the smugglers saying, "There is nothing that is impossible here."

The glimpse video shows that there is a market for gold and the one calling the shots in this market is a person who is intent on acquiring respect. "All those hands here have to salute us in respect," we hear him saying.

Meanwhile, Vikram Prabhu's character is seen working in this market of gold. The glimpse video also features several grim action scenes.

At one point, we hear Vikram Prabhu say, "Can you believe it if we told you that the one gram of gold that you hold in your hand would have claimed at least a minimum of one person's life before reaching your hand? That is gold. That is what this world is. And that is what this film's story is all about."

Shooting for the film is currently on at a brisk pace. It may be recalled that shooting for the film began in June this year.

Along with Vikram Prabhu, the film will also feature producer Raahul and actresses Shivathmika Rajashekhar, Amala Shaji in pivotal roles.

On the technical front, music for the film will be by Yuvan Shankar Raja while cinematography will be by Karthick Sharaj. Editing for the film will be by Arul Moses A and art direction will be by Hari Haran PS. Stunts in the film have been choreographed by Dinesh Kasi.

It may be recalled that just a couple of days ago, the film had also been selected for the Kaia International Film Festival in Istanbul, Turkey.

Taking to its Instagram page to share the happy news, production house Kalamaya Cineverse wrote, "Another milestone for #EnnaVilai! Proud to be an Official Selection at the Atlanta Indian Film Festival (AIFF). One Powerful Story. One Global Journey. Taking Tamil Cinema to the world. In Theatres - September 2026. The film, which has caught the attention of critics and film buffs, is to have a theatrical release in September this year.

It may be recalled that the makers of the film had chosen to express their gratitude to the village where the film was predominantly shot by getting the entire village to release the first look of their film.

Instead of inviting a star to unveil the film's first look, the makers had returned to Paalam village in Dhanushkodi, where a major portion of the film was shot, and entrusted the honour to the very people who had welcomed them with open arms throughout the filming process.

The villagers, who had become an inseparable part of the journey behind 'Enna Vilai', gathered together to unveil the film's first look in a heartfelt celebration. Sources present on the occasion had said that what unfolded was not merely a promotional event, but a tribute to a community whose warmth, hospitality and unwavering support left an indelible mark on the entire team.

Produced by Kalamaya Films under the banner of Githesh V, 'Enna Vilai' has been written and directed by Sajeev Pazhoor. The socio-political family thriller stars Karunaas and Nimisha Sajayan in the lead, alongside Y. Gee. Mahendran, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Mohan Ram, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, Kavithalayaa Krishna, Deepa Shankar, Mottai Rajendran, Nakkalites Kavi and a strong ensemble cast.

For the unaware, the film has already earned the Best Screenplay Award at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival.

Speaking about the decision to have the first look released by the villagers of Paalam, producer Githesh V had said, "Every film has a beginning, but very few get the opportunity to begin with gratitude. Producer Raahul’s Romeo Pictures, which has made its mark through grand film productions and successful distribution ventures, is jointly producing this new film in association with Gokul Srinivasan of Aviate Pictures.

Sources close to the unit of the film say that along with Prabhu, who is the son of the legendary Tamil star Sivaji Ganesan, actor Vijay Varma will be seen playing the lead in this film.

Actress Shivathmika Rajashekar has been roped in to play the female lead in this film, which will also feature the film's producer Raahul in a pivotal role.

Taking to his X timeline to share an update on the film on Monday, producer Raahul wrote, "Lights, camera, and lots of action. #RomeoPictures11 shoot commences today #IlayaThilagamPrabhu."

The film will belong to the dark humour genre, say sources, who point out that the is to being made as a thriller-comedy with a unique storyline.

Interestingly, actor Vikram Prabhu, who is the son of Prabhu, and director Adhik Ravichandran graced the launch event of the film. Sources said that the celebrities met the team and conveyed their wishes to the entire cast and crew.

Apart from Prabhu and Vijay Varma, the film will also feature several well known actors, including Muthukumar, Ramesh Thilak, Dileep Subbarayan, Dheena, Arun Matheswaran, Kavitha Bharathi and Avinash Ragudevan in important roles.

On the technical front, music for the film is to be scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja while cinematography is to be handled by Pradeep Kaliraja. Tovino urged people not to respond to the mails put out by the imposter. He wrote, "I strongly request everyone to not respond, share any personal information, click on links, make payments, or act upon any requests received from this email ID. If you receive an email from this address, please report it as spam/ phishing and delete it immediately."

He ended the note saying, "Kindly share this information with anyone who may have received such emails so that they do not fall victim to this impersonation. Please stay alert and verify the source before responding to any communication claiming to be from me. Thank you for your understanding and support."

Recalling the difficulties they faced during the making of the blockbuster film 'Arjun Reddy', Vijay Deverakonda went on to say, "Back then, we went to war together. We didn't know what we were doing. Had the film not worked out, we would have gone crazy. Both of us didn't have money. We did not have influence. We didn't have any pull. There were no fans at that time because Pellichoopulu hadn't released then."

"I miss Sandeep Reddy not for Arjun Reddy's success or what it has gone on to become. I miss him for all the moments we spent together -- building a film together, sharing our lives, our stress and sharing our battles. Pranay and Prabhakar uncle mortgaged their lands to get money to make that film. They made that film showing faith in Sandeep and he in turn, had faith in me. The glimpse video begins with Sumanth Prabhas and Ananthika Sanilkumar's characters in the film being madly in love with each other. Just when you begin to think that the couple is made for each other, the second half of the glimpse shows both characters beginning to hate each other. Adding to the excitement and intrigue is the character played by actor Upendra Limaye in the film. The glimpse gives the impression that the actor plays a cop in the film.

Apart from Sumanth Prabhas, Ananthika Sanilkumar and Upendra Limaye, the film will also feature actors Venkatesh Kakumanu, Narendra Ravi, Mani Aegurla and Sai Sohan among others.

Chennai, Aug 31 (SocialNews.XYZ) National Award winning music director and actor G V Prakash, who plays the lead in director Mariyappan Chinna's eagerly awaited horror thriller 'Immortal', has now disclosed that the film was made over a period of two years and that makers of the film had informed well before the start of the film's shoot that they would take a year for the film's CG work and a year for shooting the film.

Talking to mediapersons, G V Prakash, who only recently won his third National Award for music direction, said, "Immortal is a relatively new genre for Tamil cinema. It's a vampire film. It hasn't been explored much in Tamil cinema.It's a fantasy mystery survival thriller."

Going on to give details of the film, in which Kayadu Lohar plays the female lead, G V Prakash said, "We waited for a year for CG alone. The producer told us that we would shoot for a year and that we would wait for a year for CG. Only then would this film be released."

He went on to add, "We finished shooting before Lokah was released." The actor said that the decision to take a year's time for the film's CG was to ensure that it was of international standard.

The film's CG works are being handled by top CG firms in Canada, which have been working on the film for a year now.

Going on to explain why they named the film 'Immortal', G V Prakash said, "I initially wanted the film to be called 'Saaga Varam' but we later changed it to 'Immortal'. In this film, there's a portion that tells the story of a man who lives for 4000 years. It will go to a prehistoric time."

The film has already been cleared for release by the Censor Board with a clean 'U' certificate.

G V Prakash took to his X timeline to share the update. Sharing a poster that announced that the film had been certified U, the actor wrote, "#Immortal from September 4."

It may be recalled that the makers of the film had announced in May this year that shooting for the film had been wrapped up.

The film has been eagerly awaited ever since the makers released a chilling and entertaining teaser of the film last year.

The teaser begins on a funny romantic note. It has G V Prakash, who is a die hard romantic, having a conversation with a friend. He says, "Imagine how it would be if a handsome guy like me and a very beautiful girl stayed in the same house." The friend replies, "It would be jealousy-inducing." To this, G V Prakash gleefully says, "It must."

The teaser then shows G V Prakash having a conversation with actress Kayadu Lohar in a flat that looks exactly like the one he was seen talking about a while ago to his friend.

"If I ask you something, will you mistake me," he asks her and she shoots back, saying, "You will anyway ask something that is wrong."

The teaser makes it evident that G V Prakash's character in the film is romantically interested in the character that Kayadu Lohar plays. He tells her, "My room has a lot of mosquito problems" to which she replies, "Mine has problems caused by bats. Is it alright?"

It is then that the horror phase starts. He wakes up in the middle of the night and looks through the keyhole, only to find a beast with the face of a bat!

The film, apart from G V Prakash Kumar and Kayadu Lohar, also features a host of actors including TM Karthik, Kumar Natarajan, Lollu Sabha Maaran, Aaditya Kathir, Arshu Maharjan, Pema Tsamchoe and Sunita Shrestha.

On the technical front, the film, which has been produced by Arunkumar Dhanasekaran, has cinematography by Arun Radhakrishnan and music by Sam CS. Editing for the film is by San Lokesh while art direction is by Siva Sankar. Stunts for the film have been choreographed by R.Sakthi Saravanan while dances have been choreographed by Sabarish.

Recently, the makers had released the first look of the film, much to the delight of fans and film buffs. Lark Studios took to its social media timelines to share the first look poster of the film.

Rajisha Vijayan plays the female lead in this film, which will have music by Marshall Robinson. The film has cinematography by M Sukumar and editing by the very gifted Nagooran Ramachandran.

Art direction for the film is being handled by K B Nandhabalan while stunts in the film have been choreographed by Mahesh Mathew. Rithesh Selvaraj has designed the costumes in this film, which P Balakumar serving as its executive producer.

The film, which was launched in June this year with great fanfare, will feature Shivani Nagaram as the female lead opposite Abishan Jeevinth. Apart from the lead actors, the film will also feature a host of actors including Yogalakshmi, Gaana Vinoth, Sangeetha Madhavan and Benjamin.

Chennai, Aug 29 (SocialNews.XYZ) Well known Malayalam actress Nimisha Sajayan, who plays the lead in director Ambiecka Pandit's film 'Babita Singh Reporting', has now penned a note of gratitude to her trainer Ali Shifas, for helping her lose the weight she had put on for the film.

Taking to her Instagram page to pen the note of gratitude, Nimisha wrote, "Gained almost 14 kgs for this character(58 kgs to 72 kgs) And honestly the weight loss journey that followed was a whole different story."

Nimisha said that the first 10 days were probably the toughest.

"No proper sleep, crazy mood swings, exhaustion, frustration… and so many moments where I genuinely felt like I couldn’t do it. There were days I would literally sit in front of my trainer and cry saying “I can’t do this anymore,” she said.

She then thanked her trainer Alis Shifas for helping her at that point. She wrote, "@ali_shifas_vs if it wasn’t for you..I honestly think I would have given up. You were my rock throughout this entire journey. You pushed me when I needed that extra push, encouraged me when I wanted to give up and patiently reminded me to trust the process."

She further said, "You never judged me for the bad days or made me feel guilty for struggling. You were simply there every single day. There were days when I was frustrated, tired and ready to quit. But somehow..you always found a way to make me show up the next day and try again."

Stating that now, looking back, she realised the journey wasn’t just about losing the weight and that it was about patience, trusting the process and most importantly having the right person beside oneself.

"You made my struggle feel so much easier just by being there. To my best trainer, my biggest cheerleader, my constant support system THANK YOU Shifukka for believing in me even on the days I stopped believing in myself. Couldn’t have done this without you," she wrote.

Chennai, Aug 28 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Tamil Film Producers Council and the Tamil Film Active Producers Association on Friday jointly announced that they had decided to postpone the decision to go on strike from September 1 in the wake of an assurance given by Tamil Nadu Minister for Information and Publicity Rajmohan.

In a statement issued on Friday, the producer associations said that they had chosen to indefinitely postpone the strike call given in the wake of Tamil Nadu Minister for Information and Publicity Rajmohan's assurance to them that the attention of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay would be drawn to their concerns and that tripartite talks under the guidance of the Chief Minister would be facilitated to find a permanent solution to the problem.

The producers said that they had met Tamil Nadu Minister for Information and Publicity Rajmohan on August 26 and explained the problems plaguing the film industry to him. They said that they had also submitted their requests as a petition to the minister on the occasion.

Stating that after perusing their petition, the Minister had asked the Tamil Nadu Film Distributors Federation and the Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association to continue following the process that was in place for releasing films now, the producers pointed out that the minister had told them that the Tamil Nadu government would initiate steps to hold talks between the Tamil Nadu Film Distributors Federation, the Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association and the Tamil Film Producers associations after the ongoing Assembly session and find a solution to the problem.

For the unaware, the producers associations had on August 22 announced that no new Tamil films would be released from September 1. They had also said that all film shootings and post production work being carried out on films would come to a standstill from September 1.

The producers said the decision to stop the release of all new Tamil films from September 1 had been taken in response to the unilateral announcement made by the Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association and the Tamil Nadu Film Distributors Federation with regard to the release of new films on OTTs.

The distributors and the theatre owners associations had said that they would only be able to screen those films whose producers gave them an assurance that they would release their films on OTT platforms only eight weeks after their theatrical release.

In a joint statement on August 22, the producers had said, "The distributors federation and the theatre owners association, of their own accord and without holding consultations with others, have decided that they can permit the theatrical screenings of only those films, whose producers give letters stating that they will release their films on OTT platforms only after eight weeks after their films' theatrical release."

Pointing out that no such practice was in place in the neighbouring states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka or Kerala, the producers associations had said that this move, which was being deliberately introduced in Tamil Nadu alone, was one that needed to be condemned.

The massive action-packed sequence had brought together more than 800 junior artistes, making it one of the biggest schedules in the film. Sources had then pointed out that producer KK Radhamohan had left no stone unturned to ensure world-class execution across every department.

Sources have claimed that the climax sequence features some adrenaline-pumping action portions that have been choreographed by popular stunt master Dhilip Subbarayan and that these portions are bound to give audiences a breathtaking theatrical experience.

Sharwa, who plays the powerful character Ganga, is said to have delivered a career-defining performance. Sources have also pointed out that the actor had to undergo over two-and-a-half hours of intricate makeup every day, followed by nearly an hour for makeup removal after the shoot. The physically demanding transformation and intense action episodes are expected to stand out as one of the biggest highlights of the film.

The film features Anupama Parameswaran and Dimple Hayathi as the female leads. Already, the makers of the film have released the first looks of actresses Anupama Parameswaran as Kandula Sulochana Rani and Dimple Hayathi as Mandaram in the film.

Sources had said that Sulochana (the character Anupama plays in the film) will be a spirited person who is deeply rooted in nature. Earning her livelihood by crafting leaf plates from Moduga leaves, the “Flame of the Forest” Sulochana would embody both resilience and quiet strength in the film, they had informed.

Mandaram (the character Dimple Hayathi plays in the film), the sources had disclosed, will be a bold and powerful character who simply does not care for the world.

'Bhogi' is set in the early 1960s and unfolds in a fictional village on the Telangana-Maharashtra border. Slated for a grand pan-India release, the film is to hit theatres in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi on August 28 this year.

Sources close to the unit of the film have told IANS that the story of the film takes place across three cities -- Chennai, Coimbatore and Pollachi. They also point out that the film will be a family entertainer and that it would not have any villains featuring in it.

Vishnu Edavan, who is making his debut as a director with this film, had earlier worked as an associate director to ace director Lokesh Kanagaraj in several of his projects including 'Kaithi', 'Master' and 'Vikram'.

Director Vishnu Edavan, while commenting about his film earlier, had said that it would be a wholesome family entertainer that would speak about true love.

Expectations from the film are high as this will be the first time that actors Nayanthara and Kavin are acting together.

The film, which boasts of a strong technical team, will have music by Jen Martin and cinematography by Rajesh Shukla. Editing for the film will be by the capable Philomin Raj and art direction will be by Shekhar B. Dances in the film are to be choreographed by Brinda while stunts are to be choreographed by Dinesh Kasi.

.The film, which is being produced by Royal Fortuna Creations, will apart from Raiza Wilson, also feature Dhruva, Adhivathi Shetty, Senrayan, Hrithika Biswas and “Finally” Swathika in pivotal roles.

Talking about his film, director Milo says that instead of following the familiar path of ghosts, haunted bungalows and revenge stories that usually define horror films in Tamil cinema, he has attempted to create a distinctive world that brings together time, human memories, science and fear.

The screenplay of Nova, he says, will be one of its biggest highlights. Rather than giving the audience immediate answers, the narrative had been designed to keep raising questions throughout the film.

“This film should not be viewed merely as a horror film. It uses fear as a medium to tell a larger mystery. Our intention is to ensure that audiences walk out of the theatre with a few questions still lingering in their minds,” says director Milo.

One of the biggest visual challenges in NOVA was ensuring that sunlight would not appear in any scene of the film.

For this very reason, the team waited for dark clouds to gather before filming several sequences.

The 32-day shoot came with its own set of challenges, particularly due to the demanding natural surroundings.

According to Milo, the entire film was shot in a mountainous village in Kerala, and even reaching the shooting location itself was a challenge.

“Getting to that location was extremely difficult. The terrain was so challenging that there were days when someone would get hurt. But that was the location the story demanded. So, from the actors to the technical crew, everyone worked extremely hard,” says Milo.

It may be recalled that the makers of the eagerly awaited horror science-fiction supernatural fantasy thriller 'Nova' have already confirmed that their film is to hit screens in September this year. However, the makers haven't announced the release date yet.

Meanwhile, 391 tourists and 44 security personnel have gone missing due to the disaster.

The Nepali government said 44 Nepal Army personnel, 28 police personnel deployed at various police posts, and 13 Armed Police Force (APF) personnel working in the affected areas remained out of contact.

Additionally, nine hydropower projects and several commercial banks, at least 19 motorable bridges and dozens of public and private properties have been swept away.

Authorities are continuing to collect details of the human and physical losses caused by the disaster.

Hyderabad, Aug 27 (SocialNews.XYZ) The makers of director Rahul Sankrityan's eagerly awaited period film, 'Ranabaali', featuring actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead, have now announced that their film will hit screens the world over on October 16 this year.

The film was earlier scheduled to hit screens on September 11 this year.

Taking to its social media timelines on Thursday, Mythri Movie Makers, the production house producing the film, wrote, "The darkest chapter of our history opens this October. #Ranabaali GRAND RELEASE WORLDWIDE ON 16.10.26. NeverForget #RanabaaliOnOct16th."

For the unaware, Vijay Deverakonda essays the role of Ranabaali, while Rashmika Mandanna plays his wife Jayamma in the film. Arnold Vosloo, best known for his work in 'The Mummy', plays the antagonist Sir Theodore Hector.

'Ranabaali' is being produced on a grand scale by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar, with T-Series presenting the film. The movie is set against a British-era backdrop and is being made as a period action drama. Set in the 19th century, the film is based on real historical events that took place between 1854 and 1878, and is being mounted as a massive pan-India project.

Sources claim 'Ranabaali' is inspired by real incidents from the 1850s that never found space in mainstream history books. They say it will be based on real incidents in the time period of 1850-1900 and that the film will look to showcase incidents that the British misrepresented in history.

Sources have also pointed out that Ranabaali will not be a biopic, and not a textbook retelling but will be a cinematic reconstruction of an era built from multiple real accounts, oral histories, and suppressed records.

After 'Geetha Govindam' and 'Dear Comrade', 'Ranabaali' will be the third film in which Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda will be seen appearing together as a pair.

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 26 (SocialNews.XYZ) Kerala’s cinema industry will be granted industry status by October 10 at the latest, the deadline for the Congress-led UDF government’s 100-day action programme, Culture, Cinema, and Tourism Minister P.C. Vishnunadh said on Wednesday.

Talking to IANS, Vishnunadh said the government had made the decision to bring the entire gamut of cinema-related activities under the ambit of an industry as part of its 100-day programme.

The process of according the status is currently under discussion with various stakeholders, he said.

“To the best of my knowledge, no state in the country currently treats cinema as an industry,” Vishnunadh said, adding that Kerala would take the lead by formally according the sector industry status.

The ongoing discussions, he said, primarily involve various government departments that will have to make the necessary administrative and regulatory changes once cinema is brought under the industry framework.

The minister said the move would have a wide-ranging impact on Kerala’s film sector, with theatre owners expected to be among the biggest beneficiaries.

At present, theatre owners have to approach different government departments for various permissions and clearances, often making the process cumbersome and time-consuming.

Industry status, he said, would help streamline such procedures and create a more supportive environment for the exhibition sector.

The next major beneficiaries would be film producers, Vishnunadh said.

'With cinema being recognised as an industry, producers are expected to gain better access to institutional finance and loans at lower interest rates, reducing their dependence on more expensive sources of funding," he noted.

The minister said the proposed industry status should therefore not be viewed merely as a change in classification, but as a measure aimed at strengthening the entire ecosystem of Malayalam cinema.

"Cinema will get industry status by October 10 at the latest, which is the last day of the 100-day programme," Vishnunadh said.

The government believes that bringing cinema under the industry framework will improve the ease of doing business for stakeholders, facilitate access to finance and reduce procedural hurdles, while ultimately giving a much-needed boost to Kerala’s film sector as a whole.
