Mumbai, July 19 (SocialNews.XYZ) A biopic based on the life of timeless beauty Madhubala is to be made soon. It is backed by her youngest sister, Madhur Brij Bhushan. She says: "It has been my long-standing dream to do something for my beloved sister, who lived a very short yet momentous life. All my sisters and I have joined hands to make this dream come true."

"With God's blessings, and dedication of my partners, Arvindji, Prashant and Vinay, I am confident that this biopic will be made successfully on a grand level. We need everyone's blessings to put together this project beautifully."

She emphasises that only Madhubala's family, and no one else in any capacity, has legal rights to attempt a biopic on the yesteryear star's life.

"It's my humble request to everyone - within the film industry as well as outside of it - to kindly not attempt a biopic or any other project based on my sister's life without my permission," she adds.

Sources close to the production reveal that the said biopic is all set to be produced by a top studio/production house, in association with Madhubala Ventures Private Limited which, in turn, has teamed up with Brewing Thoughts Private Limited (that are producing Shaktimaan trilogy along with Sony Pictures International Productions), to develop the project.

"Going by a highly enthusiastic response, there's no room for doubt that the Madhubala biopic is an extremely hot property amongst studios and talents. In fact, many top actors including a couple of reigning female stars, as well as top filmmakers are keenly interested in collaborating on the project."

"But makers are in no hurry vis-a-vis collaborations. So, no studio/production house or talents have been roped in yet for the said film," says the source, adding that the said biopic shall go on floors next year.

Madhubala passed away at the age of 36 in 1969. In the early 50s, her popularity rose rapidly and made it to Hollywood as well.

She appeared in the American magazine in 1952. She was featured in a full page article under the title: 'The Biggest Star in the World - and she's not in Beverly Hills'.

In 2019, there was an attempt from the legend's sister, Madhur Brij Bhushan to make a biopic on her life but at that time, an objection came in from their eldest sister about the film. So, the biopic could not be made then.

Mumbai, June 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) The makers of the upcoming magnum opus 'Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva' unveiled the spectacular trailer of the film featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan on Wednesday morning.

As promised by the director Ayan Mukerji, the trailer of the film, a fantasy epic, is a complete visual treat for fans.

The over three-minute clip is packed with a heavy impressive VFX shots, and an indication of the film's grand scale.

The trailer begins with Big B's voice talking about the five elements that have had their powers stored in 'astras' (weapons) since ancient times and that this is the story of the God of all Astras -- the Brahmastra.

Then comes Ranbir's character Shiva, a boy-next-door. He later meets Isha, played by Alia, who learns about Shiva's secret --fire does not burn him. There are glimpses of Nagarjuna and also Mouni Roy as the film's villain.

Director Ayan Mukerji speaks on this momentous occasion, "Marking the beginning of a new cinematic universe, 'The Astraverse', I believe Brahmastra is the kind of film that the country would feel really proud of."

"It touches on our roots; celebrates our rich culture and it takes us forward with our technology. The film is proudly Indian and Imaginative and bringing together some of Pan-India's most renowned names was a dream come true!"

Produced by Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus and Starlight Pictures the magnum opus will release theatrically on September 9, in five Indian languages -- Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

Sabbir, who currently awaits the release of his upcoming 'Nikamma', has revealed to IANS about what is more daunting - producing or directing a film.

"Directing comes naturally to me. I enjoy it. Producing is daunting because there is a little more responsibility that I have to take, which I might not have to take as a director," he said.

Sabbir added: "As a director I can fight on the set on the given day that every shot is correct, every artiste's performance is correct.

"As a producer, the job never ends. Are they (audience) happy going back home, is the film well-received as i thought. Am I fighting for the right posters, theatres? It never ends. That job doesn't end."

Based on the Telugu film 'Middle Class Abbayi', the film 'Nikamma' is directed by Sabbir Khan, and also stars Shilpa Shetty, Abhimanyu Dassani, Samir Soni and Abhimanyu Singh among others.

'Nikamma' releases in theatres on June 17.

The actress further briefs about her diet and says: "My diet mostly consists of Indian food because Indian food is very nutritious. We can get all the required nutrition and protein from our Indian food."

Lastly, the actress concludes by giving out a message to the youngsters.

"My only advice to motivate youngsters is to stay persistent and consistent. Make fitness a habit and not an option by exercising regularly."

In a conversation with IANS, Parashar said: "Preparing to play Shaheed Bhagat Singh required a lot of reading so that I could imbibe a lot of his ideals. In the process, I discovered he was even more fascinating, intelligent and interesting than our history books teach us. Working with Shoojit sir (Sircar) and Vicky (Kaushal) was an enriching experience as well."

Amol also revealed that he would soon be seen playing the lead in another film. "I will have my first film as a lead character releasing in the coming months. It will be with Vishesh Films. Both upcoming releases are special to me for different reasons. One is my first film as a lead; in the other, I get to play a legendary character," Parashar said.

Amol, who celebrates his birthday on Friday, also shared that he never plans anything in advance. "My birthdays are mostly improvised and I rarely plan anything in advance for them. Even a day before my birthday, I rarely know how it is going to turn out and I like to see how it unfolds. Sometimes, it is a huge gathering of friends, sometimes it means spending quiet time with the family, or I just take off from the city," the actor said.

"In the next couple of days, I start shooting for another exciting film. I am looking forward to it!" he added.

Quizzed about how life has changed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Parashar said: "The lockdown taught us patience and perseverance. I am glad that my family and I have been safe so far. Like I said, I start shooting in two days after my birthday and I am raring to go back on the sets!"

New Delhi, Sep 18 (SocialNews.XYZ) Actress Sayani Gupta, who has been rocking the OTT platforms, besides wooing her fans on social media, be it with her dancing, singing or costume designing skills recently revealed her voice-over expertise.

The actress lent her voice to an audio show 'Buri Nazar' on Audible, however, it was not her first time at lending voice to characters.

She has been a pro at it right from her childhood. It's one of her skills people aren't aware of.

In an exclusive conversation with IANS, Sayani shared her journey as a voice-over artist.

"I have done a lot of audio work all my life. My father was part of the All India Radio. He was an announcer, music composer, singer and lyricist," said the 'Four More Shots!' actor.

Sayani shared how her early childhood years were spent in the AIR studio. "AIR was a place where I was taken as a child and I spent a lot of time there. My first paid job was when I was 5 when I did a radio advertisement where I got paid Rs 500."

'Buri Nazar', her latest, is the Hindi version of a much appreciated Audible Original 'Evil Eye' that is narrated by Sayani, Supriya Pathak and Ritvik Dhanjani.

Sayani plays the role of Pallavi, daughter of Supriya, while Ritivik is her fiance.

Talking about the storyline, Sayani said, "It's a relatable banter between daughter and mother. I play the daughter, Pallavi, who lives in New York. Her mother is constantly coaxing her to marry. And Pallavi is fed up with her mother. Finally, Pallavi meets a guy with whom she falls in love."

Sayani, shares she enjoys doing voice-overs. "I use to recite very long poems at live audio plays in front of audience. Audio performances have been part of my growing up years."

The actress revealed she has done a lot of professional voice-overs. "I was the voice for Apple for 2 years. I did all their advertisements in India and South East Asia. It's something that I enjoy thoroughly.

"I used to be able to enjoy voice modulation a lot, something that has helped me in acting in the later years. I think it's all related and part of the bigger tree."

Sayani has even lent her voice as a singer in 'Kahab To' in her film 'Article 15' opposite Ayushmaan Khurrana.

"As an actor, you are also continuously honing your voice, modulation skills, your control over your voice, etc. I have always believed that there is so much scope when you are working with your voice. You are working with your mind in this case. The microphone is literally your co-actor, your camera. It's a medium that captures your every breath. It's so powerful.

"It's almost like you are making love to the mic. It's really beautiful. I love it."

In 'Buri Nazar' Sayani has expressed varied emotions through her voice. "It's a long-distance mother-daughter call. There are lots of emotions, sometimes it's light, and at times there is cacophony. There is also a supernatural element in it."

Talking about evil eye in real life, the actress doesn't believe in it so much. "I don't really believe in evil eye. Sometimes I feel jinxed for small things. Like, sometimes I see myself and say that my skin is looking nice and then I will have a pimple. Sometimes after I laugh a lot I happen to cry a lot.

"I haven't understood why people put Kajal on babies. I find that horrifying. Perfectly cute-looking babies look like monsters. People do it for Nazar. I think we Indians give it too much of importance. Sometimes my makeup artist would very sweetly put a kaala tikaa (black spot) behind my ear."

However, the actor is cautious when it comes to her work. "If I get a project I don't talk about it before we start shooting," concluded Sayani.

He says: "Honestly, I was overweight when I was 13-14 years old. My chachaji (paternal uncle) insisted that I take up sports. He even asked me to choose between sports and studies, and thinking he will be proud of me I told him my choice -- studies.

"To which he said he knows how much I study and asked me to take up sports. So, when he sent me to a stadium, I wasn't even sure I would take up any sport."

"I simply went there to lose weight. The stadium was 15-16 kilometre away from my village and I used to travel by bus. This bus used to stop 2km ahead of the stadium and I had to walk the rest of the way. After a month or two, my fitness improved.

"There were a lot of sports at the stadium but I saw my seniors throwing javelin and I liked seeing it go very far and get stuck in the ground and I felt like I wanted to do the same. I tried it and enjoyed it very much," adds Neeraj who holds the second spot on the World Athletics Ranking in 2021.

He said: "My senior Jai, he felt that my throw was good and he asked me to join him. And I don't know what happened or what I liked about it, but I felt this is a sport that I want to take up.

"I never thought of representing India at the Olympics when I took up the sport. I just put in all my energy and hard work and I'm lucky that I got great support and guidance from my family and seniors and today, I've won Gold for my country."

Minaj suggested that the vaccine could lead to impotency.

A White House official said: "As we have with others, we offered a call with Nicki Minaj and one of our doctors to answer questions she has about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine."

Minaj had made the claim on Twitter that she'd been invited to the White House, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"I knew someday I'd get a 'Harry Potter' role, and I'm so pleased to take part in the 20-year film celebration," said Mirren, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

The show is set to air later this year on networks TBS and Cartoon Network's ACME before airing on HBO Max.

In a statement, Mirren said: "The films inspired such enchantment and wonder for so many of us, and it will be such a treat to reignite that magic for the countless fans who continue to revel in this spellbinding world."

'Hogwarts Tournament of Houses' will see fans of 'Harry Potter' battle it out in a trivia contest for bragging rights and the honor of being named House Cup champion.

In a statement Warner Bros. Global Kids, Young Adults, and Classics president Tom Ascheim, said: "(WarnerMedia) is creating an arena for the leagues of 'Harry Potter' film fans to flex their knowledge of the wizarding world.

The statement further read: "There's no one better than Dame Helen Mirren to add some British grandeur to this event that will debut across our WarnerMedia brands and platforms,".

The first film in the eight-part series 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' was released in November 2001 and launched the careers of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, who played the main magical student trio of Harry, Ron and Hermione, respectively.

The films are based on the best-selling book series by author J.K. Rowling, which spans seven novels set at Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and has sold an estimated 500 million copies.

The 45-year-old actor took almost nine years for his next production venture 'Helmet', starring Aparshakti Khurana.

He revealed why: "I took some time after that because I was really confused about whether to produce or act... I decided to let me do both and it is possible. I am capable. I can make great content and the content I am confident about..."

Fortunately, 'The Empire' came his way.

"After all the hard work and saying no for so long, I think the red light has turned to green... The patience and persistence is paying off. I am happy about... I still love acting but producing is also great. I want to create more content, we are pitching for three more movies," he said.

Kangana was in the national capital to promote the movie 'Thalaivii', which was released this Friday in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The movie is about the life of the late J. Jayalalithaa, who served as the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister for more than 14 years.

Kangana urged film exhibitors not to be impacted by Hollywood to such an extent that they start moving away from regional cinema. She said: "Like Hollywood has destroyed other industries, it is trying to overtake us. We must encourage regional cinema and promote dubbed versions of films in Malayalam or Tamil or Punjabi or other languages, than just showing the dubbed versions of 'Jungle Book' or 'Lion King'. This will be our contribution to the making of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'."

When asked about that one quality of the late leader she would like to imbibe, Kangana said: "Her foremost trait was her strong determination, which enabled her to accept challenges and became the chief minister of Tamil Nadu."

She has been seen in 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha', 'Shubh Mangal Savdhaan', 'Saand Ki Aankh', 'Bala', 'Pati Patni Aur Woh' and 'Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare', and many more such critically acclaimed films.

But is Bhumi comfortable with the 'star tag? In an interview with IANS, the actress, who started out as an assistant to Shanoo Sharma, the casting director of Yash Raj Films, made the confession: "I am a little shy to call myself a star."

She insists she is an actor "who has received a lot of love". Bhumi said: "I think the definition of stardom has changed across different generations. But yes, I am grateful that my films are appreciated and people love me and I am going to continue doing whatever I do on and off screen."

Hindi cinema is known for its bigger-than-life films, but Bhumi has stood her ground on featuring only in 'message-driven' films and calls herself fortunate.

"I have always been keen that my films should have a positive message along with entertainment, as that's what cinema is primarily meant to do," Bhumi said.

She added: "I feel that's how films in the future would also be. If someone is spending two hours watching a film, or my piece of content, it must lead to some kind of a positive change in their mindset."

As a public figure, Bhumi is doing her bit for the world too. In 2019, she launched the 'Climate Warrior' campaignto raise awareness on environmental protection and global warming.

So, is it time for Hindi cinema to raise issues related to climate change and sustainable lifestyles, pat came the reply from Bhumi: "Yes! I feel it's high time that Hindi cinema starts showing a sustainable way of living in their films."

She added: "As a fraternity we are woke and I personally would like to believe that we are more conscious than other industries, but I still feel we aren't doing enough."

Bhumi, incidentally, has named as India's first M.A.C global cosmetics brand ambassador because of her efforts towards climate conservation and sustainability and also her body of work.

In fact, she makes sure that the sets she works on do not use plastic bottles and single-use plastics as much as possible.

Bhumi concluded: "I know it's difficult, but I try to make my ecosystem as sustainable as possible. I do feel that we need narratives in films/movies that send out the message because they are the most powerful medium to get the message across to the masses."

Berry told the Daily Express newspaper: "As an actor I always show up and do my part, and I can only do what I can do. Being the director, I have a part in the totality of every department. I get to have a voice. That was different, and I really loved that.

"(I was scared s***less). Any director will tell you that they're scared, going in. Fear and worry are healthy -- it means you want to do your best."

The actress, who suffered two broken ribs during the filming, wasn't actually initially set to either act in or direct the movie.

Actress Blake Lively originally got offered the role, but dropped out six months later and Berry told producers: "I can't let it go. I've been thinking of how I can reimagine it for someone like me, a black woman in middle age -- not starting life -- who's looking for a last chance."

Studio officials agreed, but there was another big decision to be made as she helped them in a fruitless search for directors with none sharing her vision.

She told producers: "This is going to sound really crazy, because it's crazy for me to even think it, but I think I should direct this."

They agreed, and while she wants to direct again, Berry is glad she's finally seeing roles available for older actresses.

Berry added: "It used to be when you were 40 your career was done. Or you had to wait until you were old enough to play a grandma. I couldn't think that I'd be playing an MMA fighter at 55, yet I did, so it's got to be changing. I'm proof of that."

I believe Planet Marathi OTT is the instrument that can make the Marathi language global."

A Vistas Media Capital Company, Planet Marathi OTT unveiled the first-ever exclusively Marathi OTT platform on August 31. Madhuri tapped a button and the platform came to life, making 1,000-plus hours of binge-worthy content accessible worldwide.

At the launch event, Madhuri said she was proud of the achievements of Marathi cinema and appreciated Bardapurkar's vision to create an OTT platform for Marathi content. "In Maharashtra, restaurants, hotels, offices, local trains everything is open but movie theatres are shut because of Covid, according to Maharashtra government Covid only and only exclusively spreads in the movie theatres."

Mumbai, Sep 6 (SocialNews.XYZ) Actress Kangana Ranaut says 'Thalaivii' is the best film of her career so far and is confident that it will bring audiences back to the theatres.

Kangana earlier attended the premiere of her film in Hyderabad and expressed her disappointment with multiplexes for not screening the film due to the gap between its big screen and digital release.

On Monday, the actress took to her Instagram Story and shared a poster of 'Thalaivii', a biopic based on the life of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and former actress J. Jayalalithaa, and wrote: "What a gratifying experience to watch 'Thalaivii' best film of my career so far."

Kangana also shared a note, saying: "'Thalaivii' is a theatrical experience hopefully Hindi multiplexes will also play it. I am confident it will bring audiences back to the theatres @pvrcinemas_official @inoxmovies."
