National General Secretary of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) Vishal Chaudhary has issued a statement opposing the decision of the Modi government to conduct the Class 12 board exams for this academic session, while students are constantly pushing for its cancellation amid the ongoing pandemic.

NSUI's National Gen Secretary Vishal Chaudhary opposed the decision of conducting 12 class board exams in his statement. “The decision of conducting 12 class board exams will not make students future but put the lives of these innocent students at risk.” Vishal Chaudhary said in his statement.

Vishal Chaudhary said, “The Modi government has again proved itself to be insensitive by making a wrong call about the board exams as it will result in mass gatherings of the students ultimately putting the students as well as their families at risk.”

Criticizing the decision of the central government, he further added, “Now rather than coming up to a safe way out they have decided to conduct the exams. When the people across the country are dying of covid.”

Vishal questions the central government and said, “If the government is ready to come up with an evaluation formula for many other subjects why can’t they do the same for these 19 subjects as well?”

National Students Union of India writes a letter to the VC DU explaining the current distressful situation and how it is not at all feasible to conduct a final year examination.

India is facing a double crisis situation wherein, on one hand, the country is already fighting against the pandemic and in the middle of that, we are now also fighting against the new epidemic that is Black Fungus. The situation is deteriorating and is out of control of the govt, In such conditions, it is not at all justified to put additional pressure on students regarding the examination.

Mr. Lokesh Chugh, National Secretary and Incharge of Media & Communication department “said that according to data there is not even a single home except the Ambani’s Adani’s and Modi Ji who is not a sufferer of this pandemic. Every family is badly fighting against this deadly disease”. It will be totally unjustified to the student community if there will be any notice for final year examinations.

The biggest wealth is our life and we cannot risk the lives of our youth by calling them out for examinations.

NSUI strictly demands the VC and the govt to cancel the final year examination. If not then NSUI will be bound to come on the streets and protest for the student community.

As NSUI Social Media Incharge Harsh Bisaria observes, with the Covid-19 cases rising each day crossing the daily limit mark of 4 lakhs, the universities are turning a blind eyes to the pleas of students in the various universities who are concerned about heir future as well as their health conditions. Even partial lock downs and complete lockdowns are being initiated in most states owing to the rising Covid numbers. But, it seems like the lives of students attending the exams doesn't seem to have the near importance to that of an official.

"The students have already faced a lot of problems till now in this pandemic. Classes were mostly held online and they have had very limited resources to make use of, in this covid pandemic. Conducting exams when the country is administering the most dangerous phase of Covid-19 is similar to playing with fire. Lakhs of students are to be appearing for the public exams travelling from various parts of the country. Their health must be taken into account by the government", Harsh Bisaria says.

NSUI Social Media Incharge Harsh Bisaria puts in another choice for exams by adding, "Students who are unable to attend the final year exam, whether online or in-person should be allowed to attend exams in colleges and given another opportunity, when feasible. If universities don’t allow for some degree of flexibility when rescheduling exams, the academic performance of students who find themselves in difficult circumstances as a result of the pandemic is likely to suffer."

According to experts, the new strain of novel Coronavirus has led to an increase in concerns due to its ability of high transmission. A new report has also claimed that the mutation is targeting young people as most of the cases have been reported in people under 20 years of age. The report also suggests that measures like social distancing that have been taken to curb the spread of Covid-19 do not work against the new variant. With this in mind, Harsh affirms the neccessity of conducting exams in a more secure environment, after the second phase of the pandemic has reached a controllable point.

London, June 4 (IANS) US President Donald Trump was rescued by his wife Melania from an embarrassing situation when he failed to recognize a statue at Buckingham Palace that he had gifted to Queen Elizabeth Il last year.

Trump was shown a pewter horse that he gave as a gift when they met in July 2018, and was asked whether he recognized it. Looking a bit puzzled, he replied "no", the Independent reported.

First Lady Melania quickly came to his rescue, saying: "I think we gave that to the Queen."

He had given the thoroughbred statue in polished pewter on his visit to Windsor.

It happened as the Queen was showing the President and his wife around an exhibition at the palace picture gallery of American artefacts on Monday.

Among the items she showed them were a display of golfing memorabilia and a draft copy of a telegram from George VI to US General Dwight Eisenhower after the D-Day invasion of France.

Earlier, Trump was pictured giving the Queen an unusual handshake as they met at the start of his state visit.

The President appeared to grasp only the monarch's fingers in his fist as he was welcomed to the Palace.

Yesterday, Indian National Congress president, Rahul Gandhi was scheduled to address a press conference in the morning. Don’t know what happened, it was postponed to afternoon from early hours. The Congress official Twitter account informed this through twitter and hasn’t disclosed any reasons.

Grabbing this opportunity, BJP mocked Rahul Gandhi with a reply mentioning the INC’s tweet. "It seems Rahul Gandhi can't wake up in the morning," the BJP tweeted. Another sarcastic tweet was followed saying that the delay of the press conference happened for the good as it is better not to spread lies in the morning.

Congress hadn’t kept calm and gave a counter to the ruling party’s tweet. "Morning, noon or night, we'd be happy to hear ChorChowkidar give a press conference - that is if he's able to", tweeted Congress in reply. Many supporters and bystanders were involved in the comments section too. The fight continued for a long time leaving no space for the harmony. Just before the elections these tweets raised up the heat and entertained the netizens enough.

As far as Telangana is concerned, KCR requests and the Election Commission of India fulfills. There were some instances where TRS supremo, KCR proved that he has struck a perfect chord with EC. KCR dissolved the Telangana Legislative assembly before 9 months and everyone opined that he has committed a huge blunder.

On the day of dissolution of House, KCR addressed a press conference in which he said, "I dissolved the House after speaking to EC and took an assurance on holding early polls. He also said that EC will hold assembly polls in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Mizoram along with them and we all know what happened later.

Now, the same happened with the LS polls that were announced earlier by EC. In February this year, KCR said in Legislative Assembly, "I requested EC to conduct Lok Sabha polls in Telangana in the first phase itself." Telangana fell in those states where LS polls will occur in the first phase that left opposition parties were in shell shock as they have very less time to confirm candidate list while TRS has started campaigning on the other side.

Now, Vijayakanth led DMDK is all set to get on board the NDA alliance with the AIADMK willing to allot 4 seats out of the 39 Parliamentary constituencies in Tamil Nadu for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

With the AIADMK and the DMDK arriving at a consensus on seat sharing in the NDA alliance, the Tamil Nadu poll scene is split along Dravidian lines, and almost all parties have sided with either the ADMK or the DMK.

The NDA had and continues to have in its fold many parties that thrive on dynastic succession. The saffron party shared power with PDP in Jammu and Kashmir, and TDP in Andhra Pradesh, which have already put in place the process of political succession. The BJP's possible allies like TRS, YSR Congress, BJD are also part of the same club of dynastic politics. If the party has such a pathological aversion to dynastic politics, it cannot survive in coalition era. Will the BJP preach same lessons to its allies?

         Mamata Banerjee's Mega Rally Year's First Show Of Opposition Strength

The stage is set for Mamata Banerjee's mega show of opposition strength on Saturday -- in fact, it is looking packed. Now, another big name has been added to the guest list, Satish Mishra, the general secretary of Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party. Mr Mishra will be standing in for the BSP chief, who is unable to attend the rally in Kolkata.
For Mamata Banerjee, it is a huge feather in the cap -- "almost as good as Mayawati herself coming to the rally," said a Trinamool leader who did not wish to be named.

Congress chief Rahul Gandhi is not attending the rally -- the party will be represented by Mallikarjun Kharge and Abhishek Manu Singhvi.

The latter is a Rajya Sabha MP elected from Bengal with support from the Trinamool. Mamata Banerjee had earlier clarified that Sonia Gandhi would not attend the rally as she is unwell. She had not mentioned Rahul Gandhi.
