Mumbai, Oct 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) Reality TV personality Farhana Bhatt recently opened up about her experience inside the Bigg Boss 19 house as she spoke about the challenges of navigating an unfamiliar environment, understanding people’s psychology and dealing with unexpected situations.

During an appearance on Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi’s popular chat show, Double Date, Farrhana went on to speak about coming from a relatively small and different social environment in Kashmir.

Talking about her time inside the Bigg Boss house, Farhana revealed that “the experience was both challenging and overwhelming,” especially because she had “never watched or experienced a show of this nature before”.

She added, “Coming from Kashmir, it was challenging for me to understand people, their psychology and everything that was happening around me. I had never seen a show like this before, so I didn’t really know what I was supposed to do. I was dealing with every situation as it came, without any proper game plan.”

Farhana also shared that she was not constantly thinking about how she was being portrayed on screen or how the audience might perceive her. She further reflected on how stepping into an unfamiliar space without a predefined strategy made the journey even more demanding.

She said: “As on the first week people ganged up and had evicted me from the house, and I was kept in Secret Room, my rage for the people inside the house doubled as I felt that's my way of survival inside the house, as I didn’t know anyone from outside”.

Farrhana is best known for her role in Laila Majnu. She emerged as runner-up in the 19th edition of ‘Bigg Boss’, which was won by actor Gaurav Khanna. In 2026,she also participated in the reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 where she emerged as the third runner-up.

Recalling instances where she felt Uditi was imitating her, Mahhi says she had once jokingly told Uditi that she would “pat on my back” if they ended up competing for a month inside the house.

Mahhi further recalls an incident where she later heard Uditi having a conversation with Scout on the same subject.

She said: “So many times I have spotted her imitating me. Once I told her, ‘I will pat on my back when we compete one month in the house,’ and the following day I saw her speaking to Scout on the exact thing, to which even Scout said, ‘This is what Mahhi di had said.’”

The conversation then moves to the shifting equations inside the house.

Qazi, reflecting on his conversation with Salman Khan during ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’, says that after the episode, he noticed everyone shifting their attention away from him and coming together, with both groups seemingly uniting.

Mahhi, however, remains firm about keeping her distance from certain housemates once the show ends.

Sharing her thoughts on Uditi and the group, she said: “She is quite silly. I don't want to have any touch with them after going out from the house. I have my three-four people, I am okay with that.”

The show airs on Bigg Boss 20 Hotstar and Colors.

The pormo began with Salman reprimanding Qazi by saying: “Qazi, jab aapka intentions kisi ko galat laga you shouldve just backed out. Lekin aap lage rahe nonstop like a stuck record.”

“(Qazi, when your intentions were perceived as wrong by someone, you should have simply backed out. But you kept going nonstop, like a stuck record.)”

Salman then asked Kanika if Qazi had apologised to her, to which the actress said: “Inme bahut hawa aagayi hai (He’s become to full of himself).”

Qazi jumped in and said that he did try to apologise.

To which Salman replied: “Humne nahi dekha aapko inhe sorry bolte huye. Aapne yeh kaha ki main goli khaalunga lekin sorry nahi bolunga. (We did not see you apologising to her. You said, ‘I’ll take a bullet, but I won’t apologise.’)

Qazi then made a puzzling claim saying he jokingly apologised to Kanika.

She went on to credit producer Ekta Kapoor with putting women at the heart of prime-time television and changing the way stories were told on the small screen.

Smriti took to Instagram, where she re-shared a video highlighting research titled “The Power of TV: Cable Television and Women’s Status in India”, conducted by economists at Harvard University. The video explored how Ekta Kapoor’s television shows positively influenced women’s lives in rural India,including attitudes towards women’s autonomy and domestic violence.

Turning to the caption section, Smriti wrote: “Twenty-five years ago, Tulsi Virani walked into India’s living rooms. Neither of us knew how far she would travel. Behind her was another young woman breaking the mould — Ekta Kapoor, a young producer who trusted her instinct, put women at the heart of prime-time television and changed the grammar of Indian entertainment.”

Smriti then wrote about the “academic research of cable television in rural India.”

“Years later, academic research on the spread of cable television in rural India found that exposure to television was associated with changing attitudes towards women — including autonomy, education and domestic violence.”

“It reinforced something I have always believed: Stories don’t just reflect society. Sometimes, they quietly expand what society believes is possible. A character can question a boundary before someone finds the courage to question it in her own life. A young girl watching can discover a possibility she had never imagined for herself.”

While celebrating "90s Ki Yaadein" on The Indian Game Show with Bharti and Harssh’s latest episode, Bharti recalled the contrast between her childhood struggles and her current success.

Bharti said: “90s ki ek memory main nahi bhula karti. Hamare ghar mein TV nahi tha yaar. Mere bachpan ki yaadein hain, mohalle mein ek hi thode paise wale hote the unke ghar TV hota tha.”

(There is one memory from the ’90s that I can never forget. We didn’t have a TV at home, you know. I have memories from my childhood when there was one relatively well-off family in the neighbourhood that had a TV at their house.)

“Lekin aksar jab main unke ghar TV dekhne jaati thi, toh woh TV ke aage parda kar diya karte the. Aur bolte the 'Jao-jao apne ghar padhna nahi hai?' Main unko thank you karna chahti hoon ki aapne mujhe apne ghar se nikala, aap log ki wajah se maine itni mehnat ki ki ab main khud TV pe aa rahi hoon.”

He was last seen playing Amber Singh, in the show Channa Mereya. Since July 2025, he reprised his role of Advocate Hemant Virani in the spiritual sequel of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

He is currently seen in the show Mahadev & Sons. It follows Mahadev, a man of principle, who runs a strict household as the head of his family. However, his children rebel, and a generational clash ensues.

The series is an official adaptation of Star Vijay's Tamil series Pandian Stores 2.

The actor is married to actress Sai Deodhar. She is best known for portraying Flight Lieutenant Monica Singh Kochar in Saara Akaash, Ananya Sachdev Samarth in Ek Ladki Anjaani Si, and Kasturi Singh in Udaan.

"Feminism is treated like a bad word by a lot of people. It's shocking that there are actresses who say they aren't feminists. By being a feminist, I'm not snatching away a man's rights. I'm just asking for equal rights for myself," Fatima said in a statement.

She looks at Priyanka as proof that the label doesn't cost you an audience.

"Priyanka Chopra calls herself a feminist and has a huge male fan base. If your intention is clear and you aren't dumb about it, people will listen to you."

Mumbai, Sep 21 (SocialNews.XYZ) Actress Asha Negi, who hails from Uttarakhand, talked about how growing up in a state rich in folklore and supernatural tales shaped her fascination with the horror genre.

While speaking to IANS, Asha recalled stories she heard from her family and a deeply overwhelming incident involving a village ‘jaagar’. She said she “definitely” believes in such supernatural experiences.

Talking about how hailing from Uttarakhand, a state steeped in folklore and stories of the supernatural, has shape her fascination with the horror genre

“I’ve heard a lot about ‘devi-devtas.’ In fact, when we went to Orchha for the shoot of Ali Baba, everyone was sharing their stories with the director. I remember telling them about an incident that happened in my family, back in our village,” Asha told IANS.

She added: “We have ‘jaagars’ in our village, where a lot of prayers and rituals take place. Sometimes, during these rituals, it is believed that the soul of someone who has passed away from the family can also communicate or speak.”

Jaagar is a traditional form of spiritual folk singing and ritual from the Kumaon and Garhwal regions of Uttarakhand. It is meant to invoke and "awaken" deities and ancestral spirits.

Recalling an incident from her family, she said: “ This actually happened in my family, and it was a very overwhelming experience. I definitely believe in this, and these things do happen in our village. My parents would also tell me stories from the time when they used to live in the village. So, I’ve grown up hearing many such stories.”

Asha’s latest show is “Ali Baba Aur 40 Bhoot”. The upcoming horror-comedy series brings together ancient folklore, haunted mysteries and adventure. The show also features stars Asha Negi as Ali and Vishal Vashishtha as Baba.

Set against the mysterious world of Central Indian folklore, “Ali Baba Aur 40 Bhoot” follows Alisha “Ali” Nigam, a sharp, science-driven neuropsychology expert, whose search for her missing father pulls her into a world of supernatural mysteries.

Asked if 40 “bhoots” represented 40 fears, which human fear is the most universal, Asha told IANS: “The most universal fear could be, ‘What do people think about me?’ Every person thinks about how others perceive them. I hope they think good things about me.”

Asha spoke to IANS about Rohit, who in an interview had tagged the small screen as a “dustbin medium” and said film stars have a certain level of "style and class" that television actors lack.

She told IANS: “I don’t know what the intention was behind it what people go through… What type of frustration they have experienced? I cannot comment on what he said.”

However, Asha is grateful for whatever she has achieved and credited her success to the small screen via her stint on “Pavitra Rishta” starring Ankita Lokhande and late star Sushant Singh Rajput.

“But for me personally, television has given me everything. I became a household name because of television, and till today people still call me Purvi, my character name from Pavitra Rishta,” she said.

She is thankful to television and said that cinema or OTT could never give what she has through TV.

So, if they remember till now, it is because of television, and that medium is… I will always be grateful to television for giving me what I have today. I don't think OTT or cinema would be able to give me what TV has given me.

Zoya said: “All you’ve mentioned above are seductive concepts, they make us feel good and believe, the complexities of the people fighting within his world to prove themselves worthy, to be the chosen ones, while operating from very different states of minds, I think the audience will enjoy watching, and of course, the ‘why’ of it all.”

Asked about her biggest acting challenge in finding the emotional truth of this character, especially in scenes where what she doesn't say may be as important as what she does, Zoya said: “So much of one's performance is just listening to your co-actors speak while they do their thing, if you've done your homework before coming to set, taking in what everyone else is saying,holding space for that and reacting to that usually helps you out.”

She went on to speak about her character and revealed what interested her most about playing a role who is part of that ecosystem.

Zoya said: “What interested me most me about this character was - how does one convey everything this person represents, the world she inhabits, her conditioning, her worldview, her views etc without really saying much at all?”

“How will the audience know exactly who she is when they first see her? How will I slowly peel away the layers of this onion? Finding answers to these questions and such was how i approached it.

A new promo was shared on the channel’s Instagram page with the caption: “@mahhivij aur @aamrapali1101 ki nok-jhok ne liya serious turn Dekhiye #BiggBoss20 ka naya episode, har roz raat 9 baje #JioHotstar par aur 10:30 baje #Colors par.”

The clip begins with, Mahhi entering the kitchen and asking the cooking team, which includes Aamrapali for adding potatoes to the chicken curry.

A miffed Aamrapali is then heard telling Mahhi to let the cooking team make the food and that others, who are not a part of the team to exit the kitchen.

The video then pans to Mahhi leaving the kitchen in anger and saying: “You don’t exist for me.”

To which, Aamrapali replies by saying: “Don’t come here and talk”.

Mahhi was also heard saying that: “Iske mooh lagungi? Amma ke tarah bith gayi. (Why would I engage with her? She has started behaving like an old lady.)”

Aamrapali is heard saying she sits with four people and isn’t one of them.

The video ends with the two saying “shut up” to each other.

Talking about the experience, Jahnvi shares, “I haven’t personally gone through something like Saanvi has, but one of my closest friends grew up without her mother.

“She considers her maasi her mother, and I have seen that bond very closely. I would often think about what it must have been like for her while growing up, going to school, giving exams or experiencing important moments without her mother by her side.”

Produced by Sargun Mehta’s Dreamiyata Entertainment, the show marks Rashami Desai’s return to television. The recently released promo introducing Gautam Singh Vig alongside Jahnvi, offering a glimpse into the relationships that will shape Saanvi’s journey.

The actress plays Saanvi, a young girl who has grown up in an orphanage without a mother.

The actress added: “Over the years, her maasi became her mother figure and her biggest emotional support. I feel many children who grow up in orphanages also find someone they emotionally connect with, someone who becomes that sense of family and comfort for them.”

Jahnvi said that helped her understand her character Saanvi and her longing for a mother’s love and a sense of belonging.

She said: “While preparing for the character, I tried to draw from what I had seen and understood through my friend’s journey. It helped me connect with Saanvi’s emotions and understand why finding that mother figure means so much to her.”

The first season of "Scooby-Doo: Origins" will feature eight episodes and is reportedly set for a global 2027 premiere. The story follows the teenage group as they solve a mystery at camp before officially forming Mystery Inc.

Scooby-Doo was first created in 1969 by writers Joe Ruby and Ken Spears through their animated series, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, for Hanna-Barbera.

The series features four teenagers: Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley, and Shaggy Rogers, and their talking Great Dane, Scooby-Doo, who solve mysteries involving supposedly supernatural creatures through a series of antics and missteps, while traveling in a brightly colored van called the Mystery Machine. The franchise has numerous shows, films, and specials.

Two Scooby-Doo reboots aired as part of Kids' WB on The WB and its successor, The CW, from 2002 to 2008. Further reboots aired on Cartoon Network from 2010 to 2018. In 2013, TV Guide ranked Scooby-Doo as the fifth-greatest TV cartoon of all time.

In the video, the superstar said: “Iss ghar main kitne bhi stars hai, rockstar toh ek hi hai Qazi Touqeer. Poore week main apne Owww karke chal rahe the… Mujhe sikha do na ‘I am a rockstar baby.’ (There may be many stars in this house, but there’s only one rockstar, and that’s Qazi Touqeer. Known for his roles in popular television shows like Mangal Lakshmi, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kasamh Se, Naman told IANS: "I genuinely feel that too much Botox has perhaps gone beyond the first layer of his forehead, travelled straight into his brain and frozen it."

Rohit, in an interview, had described television as a “dustbin medium”. He had also said that film stars have a certain level of "style and class" that TV actors lack.

"Calling television a 'dustbin medium' is not just unfair, it is deeply hypocritical especially when this very medium has been a part of his life and livelihood for nearly two decades. If television was really such a terrible medium, then why did he choose to remain a part of it for the last 20 years?" he added.

Naman further said that television gave Rohit's brother Ronit Roy a second chance.

"Let's also remember that this was the same medium that gave his brother, Ronit Dada, a comeback. Television has given opportunities to countless actors, technicians, writers, directors and other professionals who have built their entire careers through it,” he wrote.

Talking about his own journey, Naman said, "I have been a part of the television industry for the last 20 years, and I say this with immense pride: television has run my house.”

“It has given me work, recognition, opportunities and a career. So when someone dismisses the entire medium as a 'dustbin', I take that personally."

He agreed that certain individuals in the industry may behave inappropriately for attention.

"I completely agree that there are certain people in the industry whose behaviour may not always be appropriate. There are individuals who deliberately create controversy, behave in a certain manner or use paparazzi attention to remain in the news.”

He said that there are also people who may not necessarily represent the dignity or professionalism that many of us associate with the industry.

“But those are individuals. If you have an issue with certain people, call them out. Take their names. Criticise their behaviour. But don't blame an entire industry for the choices of a few individuals," he said.

Giving an example of Rakhi Sawant, Naman said: "Take Rakhi Sawant, for example. Rakhi has always been an entertainer. She has created her own identity and understands exactly what works for her. She doesn't claim to be something she isn't.”

“She has her own way of entertaining people, and whether you agree with it or not, she has survived in this industry for almost 20 years."

“She knows the kind of attention she generates. And, ultimately, she knows that she has to work and earn a living. If she didn't behave the way she does, perhaps people wouldn't entertain her in the same way.”

“That's her choice and her strategy. You may not like it, but that still doesn't make television a 'dustbin medium'," he added.

Naman understands that every medium has its own advantages and disadvantages.

“Every industry has its own share of good people, controversial people, talented people and people who make questionable choices. That doesn't make the entire industry bad. So before somebody dismisses television as a lesser or inferior medium, they should perhaps remember how many lives this industry supports and how many careers it has created.”

He said that he is proud to have spent 20 years in television.

‘It has given me a career and helped me build my life. You don't have to love television, but you should at least respect the medium that has given so many people a livelihood. Criticise individuals if you must. But don't insult an entire industry because of them."

He added: “And how to become a celebrity, these are the shows. Now this show has so much power that after leaving here, our contestant goes to any show, then he wins and comes. Because they teach him to win and he also has the love of the public. So I think this show should not be stopped.”

Prince participated in MTV India's Roadies X2 in 2015 where he emerged as the winner. Next, he participated in Splitsvilla 8 where he was declared the winner. He then participated in TV's Bigg Boss 9 and emerged as the winner again, thus marking a hat-trick of back-to-back wins.

From 2016 to 2018, he portrayed Lakhan Singh Ahlawat in & TV's Badho Bahu. Since 2016, he has also been a Gang Leader in MTV Roadies.

Roadies was first conceptualied as a platform to unite Indian youth through social work and acts of kindness while traveling across India.

As the show's popularity grew, MTV took over the production from Miditech after the second season. Former Miditech employees Raghu Ram and Rajiv Lakshman were brought in to present the show. Under their guidance, Roadies shifted from its original social-oriented concept to a more intense and confrontational format. Pankit, who has workd with Rohit in the past, told IANS: “We shot a pilot for a TV show back in 2000. Anupam Kher was the producer, it was for the M.A.C. Channel. Raju Kher was the director.”

Pankit, who has showcased his prowess in shows like Dill Mill Gayye, Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant and Saru, called Rohit's comment sad and ungrateful, Pankit said, "I felt sad reading what Rohit said.”

“There is an unwritten rule in our industry never spit into the plate that gave you your first meal."

"Class is not about expensive suits or speaking good English in an interview. Class is gratitude. Television gave us our first identity. It put us in every home in this country. How can we forget that?" he added.

Questioning Rohit’s remarks on his own show Swabhimaan, Pankit said, "He spoke about Swabhimaan being a hit. But does he remember who stood with him there? Manoj Bajpayee and Ashutosh Rana. Even they started from TV.”

“Manoj Sir is a four-time National Award winner today and Ashutosh Sir is one of our most celebrated powerhouse actors. Have you ever heard them call TV a dustbin? Never."

He further cited the example of the late Irrfan Khan. "And look at the late Irrfan Khan Sir. He did Banegi Apni Baat, Chanakya, Chandrakanta. He later did Life of Pi and Jurassic World, but he never called any medium small," he said.

Pankit also pointed out how the biggest stars in the country respect the small screen.

"Look at our biggest legends. Shah Rukh Khan started with Fauji and Circus. Amitabh Bachchan Sir got his second innings because of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Salman Khan has been on TV for over ten years. Pankaj Tripathi and Jaideep Ahlawat never show arrogance.”

“If they can respect TV, who are we? Our TV actors and crew work 16 hours a day. That is real class. That is real hard work," he said.

Taking the example of Rohit's own elder brother, Pankit said, "If Rohit wants to see what dignity looks like, he should see his own elder brother Ronit. Ronit became a superstar with Kasautii and Kyunki and then did Udaan and 2 States. But he never insulted TV.”

“That is why the industry respects him so much. Real class uplifts people, it does not pull them down."

He also urged introspection, saying, "And this includes me as well. In the last ten years, what work have we done as leading film heroes to judge that TV actors have no class? I am not taunting anyone, I am only asking us to reflect, myself included."

Calling out the double standards, Pankit added, "It is ironic to hear someone talk about big cinema and call long-form TV shows a dustbin, but then go ahead and act in 1-minute vertical videos made for phone apps."

"No medium is small. Big screen, TV screen, or 1-minute vertical video on a phone acting is acting. But gratitude makes an actor big. And when you disrespect the very TV industry that made you famous in the first place, you do not look superior, you just look ungrateful," he said.

Pankit concluded by saying: "To call television a dustbin is a direct insult to the millions of hard-working Indian families who invite us into their living rooms every single night. The audience isn't foolish.”

“They are incredibly smart, they know exactly what they want to watch, and they give us their love and time. We exist because of them. Disrespecting the medium means disrespecting the millions of viewers who made us who we are."

Mumbai, Sep 11 (SocialNews.XYZ) A washroom-related issue turned into a heated exchange between ‘Bigg Boss 20’ contestants Yung DSA and Kanika Mann after the new captain objected to the actress entering the male washroom, sparking a tense confrontation inside the reality show house.

In a new promo shared by the channel, Yung was seen quickly walking into the bathroom and asking who went into the male washroom.

He was then heard saying: “Kanika ji went from here and entered the male washroom. I loudly said Kanika Ji.”

To which Kanika said that she did not hear anything.

Yung said that he felt disrespected, which irked Kanika, who replied, saying that he is just the captain of the house and not a king.

She then said that Yung made a joke stating that when he goes to the bathroom, he would call her for help.

Yung denied and said he never said that.

The promo concluded with Kanika saying: “I don’t want to get into your level.”

A promo shared by the channel on Instagram showed Mary asking contestant ScoutOP about who else has been asked to do the dishes alongside him. Rhiti, who is standing next to her, replies that she has been given the duty but is currently busy making tea for everyone.

In the clip, Rhiti says: ““Meri hi duty hai bartan ki, par ab main chai bana rahi hoon na”

Mary then asks Rhiti “Chai banane mein kitna time lagta hai? (how much time does it tae to make tea)"

A miffed Rhiti asks Mary to make the tea.

She then escalates the matter by telling Mary that she knows what she needs to do.

“Mujhe pata hai mujhe kya karna hai (I know what to do). I respect you a lot, but don’t go around talking about me behind my back," Rhiti says in the promo.

Mary responds “The whole world knows me. Aap kaun hain, main nahi jaanti" (I don’t know who you are).

An angry Rhiti shared that the world will get to know a ‘different side’ of Mary Kom too.

Talking to IANS, Neha shared that the show gives female contestants a space to share their stories, opinions and experiences without making them feel less powerful than their male counterparts.

Talking about being confident in a space which is dominated by male energy, Neha told IANS: “It's because I, in my head, don't have any gender biases. Like, I haven't been raised thinking that a girl can do this and only a boy can do this. And you won't say this here because you're a girl.”

She added: “Or you'll go out there and stand in the back or you're just a boy. But at the same time, to have respect for people around me, I think the combination of that has never had any sort of…”

Neha said she has never experienced gender inequality and believes the youth-based reality show gives participants, especially girls, a stage to share their stories and opinions as equals.

“I've never been in a situation where I feel that, you know, I'm surrounded by people where there's any inequality of gender. And that's been my biggest voice, even when it comes to the contestants, where I know they come with their stories and I respect that.”

“But their stories are also that the girls talk about how they're raised differently because they're girls and this platform actually gives them, you know, a place, a position and a point of view that they can put across, keeping aside the fact that they're a girl or the fact that they're in a place full of boys.”

“But it's really something that I don't advocate. It's something the show doesn't advocate. And it really makes you feel one amongst equals as opposed to less or more powerful.”

Mumbai, Sep 8 (SocialNews.XYZ) Actor Manish Goel, who was last seen in 'Anupamaa', 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii', 'Ghar Ek Mandir', 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay', 'Bhabhi', 'Devi', has shared that his journey in acting began when he was in school.

"My journey into acting began in school. It was an inter-school competition where I played Ram in the Bharat Milap scene. I was probably cast because I was very lean and small. It was a 5-10 minute scene,” Manish said in a statement.

He added: “On the day of the play I had high fever and my costume was a dhoti and just flowers on top, but I still performed. My mother took me. I got a participation memento. I was 8-9 years old. The instant clapping and appreciation on stage overwhelmed me, and I told my mom then that I wanted to become an actor. After that, for any skit, dance or play in school, I had to be there."

Manish credited his school for nurturing the dream.

"I would like to thank my school, Father Agnel School, which also has a branch in Bandra, Bombay, and my teacher Bharti Malhotra who encouraged me. I was more on stage than in the classroom," he said.

Talking about his early influences, the actor said his father's salon business exposed him to film magazines and his Friday movie ritual sealed his passion.

"My father had a salon business. At the shop, I used to see entertainment magazines. In one of them I saw an ad for Asha Chandra Acting Classes. Every Friday my father took us to watch cinema. After watching a film, I would come home and perform the same scenes in my room or bathroom, at times wearing costumes," he said.

After his 12th boards from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Manish made his first trip to Mumbai.

"After my 12th boards, I first came to Bombay with my friend Atul Gupta's father who had work in Borivali - you can say I ran away to see my dream city. In 1992-93, I joined Asha Chandra classes, but left in 2-3 days feeling acting can't be taught," he said.

His first break behind the camera came through producer-director Anand Mahendroo.

"Through a salon customer, I met Anand Mahendroo who was making 'Dekh Bhai Dekh'. He gave me a job as an assistant which we usually refer as spot dada. The editing office at Ajanta Hotel, Juhu became my home. The set was at R.K. Studio with Shekhar Suman, Farida Dadi, Urvashi Dholakia and Amar Upadhyay.”

“I worked for 3-4 months calling artists, serving food and handling costumes in a hope of an opportunity. But nothing happened and as I wasn't here for doing all that hence I returned to Delhi and joined interior decoration in South Extension, but bunked to go to the gym and dance classes," Manish shared.

The turning point came with a magazine shoot.

"One day at the shop, I saw an ad - 'You can be the next Star face' with Amar Upadhyay's photo. I took Rs. 500 from my father's counter, got my portfolio shot, and applied, getting my grandfather to sign the form. I cleared rounds in Delhi," he said.

He added, "Around July-September 1995, I came to Bombay for the final at Holiday Inn, now Novotel. I won first place out of 28,000 applicants. Thirty-four were shortlisted from India and abroad. Priya Gill and Vinay Jain were fellow winners. My training was sponsored. In 1996, I came out of the Stardust Academy and my real struggle started. That one school play changed my life - I still have that picture."

Mumbai, Sep 8 (SocialNews.XYZ) Social media star Abhishek Malhan’s journey to becoming a gang leader on ‘MTV Roadies’ is a classic case of life coming full circle as he recalled how, during the days of Raghu Ram and Rajiv Lakshman’s auditions, he had decided he would “do anything in life but never Roadies”.

Asked if he has ever seen an old version of Roadies, Abhishek, who will be seen serving as a "Gang Leader" in Roadies, told IANS: “Honestly, I haven't seen Roadies and like, a complete season I've never watched, but back then when Raghu and Rajeev used to host those auditions, I actually realized that I'll do anything in life but never Roadies.”

“See, that's how life goes, and a circle completes, and today I'm the gang leader, and I used to think back then, who's gonna go there.”

This season, the show gets six Gang Leaders, including Nikhil Chinapa, Neha Dhupia, Prince Narula v/s Abhishek Malhan, Bani J and Baseer Ali.

Abhishek is popularly known as “Fukra Insaan”. He gained fame through his YouTube content and later appeared as a contestant on reality shows such as Bigg Boss OTT, Playground Season 3, and Temptation Island India.

Talking about the show, the first two seasons of ‘Roadies’ had a daily budget cap for contestants, encouraging them to experience India's diversity while completing various tasks. However, after MTV took over in the third season, the show adopted a more competitive and aggressive format.

From the fourth season, a new segment was introduced to select wild card contestants, Battleground and Graveyard. In the fifth season, advantage tasks were introduced, allowing winners to gain benefits during vote-outs. It was also the first season where Roadies traveled international during journeys.

The tenth season featured a mentor-based competition, where a team of ex-contestants led by Raghu Ram competed against a team of new contestants mentored by Rannvijay Singha.

In the twelfth season, the format was revamped with the introduction of gang leaders.

The eighteenth season introduced a "buddy pairs" format, where ex-roadies and new contestants competed. It also marked the return of bikes, which had been a key feature in earlier seasons. Additionally, this was the first season without Rannvijay Singha.

Each season follows a theme and includes various twists, vote-outs, and eliminations. The contestant who survives all challenges and vote-outs is ultimately crowned the Ultimate Roadie in the finale.

Nikhil told IANS: “It feels surreal to be coming back as a gang leader and I’m very excited for this journey. I do miss the OG version of Roadies, it was so much fun! It was a whole different era. “

He added that the game challenges you in many different ways.

“And this show is very different from other reality shows.”

Talking about returning as a gang leader, Nikhil said: “Coming back to MTV Roadies feels a bit like coming home. I’ve experienced the show from almost every angle. I’ve been involved in selecting contestants, judging them, and eventually becoming a Gang Leader and a winner.”

What he always loved about the show is that the contestants aren’t celebrities.

“Anyone, from anywhere, can show up, audition and earn their place. And sometimes, an ordinary person walks into that audition room and walks out of that season a household name. That’s the transformative power of the show,” he said.

Nikhil said: “To be part of that journey with my friend Rannvijay and my fellow OG gang leaders, and to experience it with a whole new generation of Roadies, is something I’m genuinely excited about.”

This season, the show gets six Gang Leaders, including Nikhil, Neha Dhupia, Prince Narula v/s Abhishek Malhan, Bani J and Baseer Ali.

Nikhil is often credited with popularizing EDM among the youth in India. He has been associated with MTV India since the late 1990s and has appeared in multiple television shows, including Roadies and Splitsvilla.

Mumbai, Sep 7 (SocialNews.XYZ) Former ‘Roadies’ winner and gang leader Prince Narula says he misses the “rough, raw” tasks from his contestant days, adding that while the challenges remain dangerous, government guidelines have made it difficult to recreate the intensity of the earlier seasons.

Asked which version of Roadies he likes more, the old one or the new version, Prince told IANS: “I miss the old Roadies, when I was a contestant. You know, the tasks were very rough, very raw. Now, actually, the lines have come from the government that you can't do this and that. So, we don't keep the tasks that dangerous.”

He agrees that they are still very dangerous.

“But they don't go to the level at which we used to do it earlier. When our hands used to come out of the nails from the current in my season, when we did it. So, nowadays, that current is not allowed. You can't do anything. But still, it's fun to watch people in their normal life. They see that we do gym, we do this.”

Prince says that the pressure remains the same.

“But here, they have to come out of their field. Then they feel how things will be under pressure. So, that is found in every season. The pressure has been the same since then. And now, there is more pressure because there will be so many gang leaders. So, who to listen to, what to do?

So, I think people will enjoy watching that.”

Prince participated in MTV India's Roadies X2 in 2015 where he emerged as the winner. Next, he participated in Splitsvilla 8 where he was declared the winner. He then participated in TV's Bigg Boss 9 and emerged as the winner again, thus marking a hat-trick of back-to-back wins.

From 2016 to 2018, he portrayed Lakhan Singh Ahlawat in &TV's Badho Bahu. Since 2016, he has also been a Gang Leader in MTV Roadies.

She wrote: “You know I thought I won’t watch Bigboss this year ! Cz it’d be more traumatic rather than fun (if you know you know) But this other side of me was pulled to watch it bcz I couldn’t watch my season more than a few episodes and there’s another reason to watch which you’ll know soon!”

The upcoming gripping mystery thriller is created by Rensil D’Silva and Siddharth P. Malhotra, and directed by Rensil D’Silva. The show explores the fragile line between trust and suspicion, instinct and truth, love and obsession. Parineeti stars as a mother in search of her missing child.

The cast also includes Soni Razdan, Anup Soni, Jennifer Winget, Harleen Sethi, Dhruv Chowdhary, and Sumeet Vyas.

Creator and producer Siddharth P. Malhotra said in a statement, “When Rensil narrated the story to me, I was hooked. There was something about the world he had created that immediately stayed with me, and I knew I had to be a part of it – that this was a story that needed to be told.”
