Amaravati, Sep 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) YSR Congress Party has flayed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for making tall claims about welfare schemes with an eye on the ensuing local body elections.

The party said the coalition government has failed on various fronts and is now trying to take credit for measures introduced by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Speaking to the media at the YSRCP Central Office at Tadepalli on Wednesday, Party General Secretary Gadikota Srikanth Reddy said Chandrababu Naidu had cheated women, farmers, youth and every other section of society by going back on his election promises. He is now renewing those promises with an eye on the local body elections.

He alleged that ever since Chandrababu assumed office, new pensions have not been sanctioned to eligible beneficiaries from weaker sections, including women. “We demand that pensions be paid retrospectively to all beneficiaries and not merely from the date of sanction. Persons with disabilities are being forced to run from pillar to post to get their pension applications approved,” he said.

Srikanth Reddy said during Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure, pensions were delivered at beneficiaries’ doorsteps, while volunteers completed all the required formalities. Chandrababu has dismantled that effective system and reduced the number of beneficiaries on one pretext or another.

“He is now asking people to apply afresh and claiming that their applications will be considered on merit. This is nothing but a drama ahead of the local body elections. While there were about 69 lakh pensioners during Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure, Chandrababu has removed nearly six lakh beneficiaries. This exposes the coalition government’s lack of sincerity,” he said.

Srikanth Reddy termed Chandrababu Naidu’s claims regarding assigned lands as ‘misleading’. He said that it was during Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure that a GO was issued to grant title deeds to rightful occupants who had had disputed assigned land for 10 years.

“Chandrababu’s claim that assigned lands are now being converted into freehold properties is merely the result of the earlier GO. The coalition government is resorting to such tactics solely to secure votes in the local body elections,” he said.

On Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar’s statement that five lakh houses have been allotted to the State, the YSRCP leader said this was insignificant compared with the 30 lakh house-site pattas distributed to women under the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.

Sources in the know claim that the film, which has been cleared by the censor board, has a run time of two hours and 49 minutes.

The film, directed by Srikanth Odela, has triggered huge expectations among fans and film buffs.

Nani, who plays the lead the film, had recently confessed that the film was the most tiring of his career.

During an interaction with the media ahead of the film's release on September 24, Nani had said, "The Paradise is the most tiring film of my career, both physically and mentally. If there has been a film for which I have worked very hard in these 18 years of my film career, it is 'The Paradise'."

The actor also set the record straight with regard to media reports that had claimed that the film had underwater sequences.

He said, "There are various news reports about the movie on social media. There is no underwater sequence in it. There is also no fight with a 1000 people as is being claimed. This is a genuine story and there are a lot of action blocks. There are scenes that will give audiences a good high. The audience will feel the emotion in the violence."

Director Srikanth Odela, who took a few questions on the occasion, had said, “The Paradise may have been delayed a little, but every update from the film has created a blast. The glimpse, teaser and songs have all received a superb response. There is a lot of excitement and curiosity among audiences about what The Paradise is all about. This is a revolutionary, emotional film. It is a story about a mother and son, and also about a marginalized community. Kaloji has a line that goes, ‘We own our birth, we own our death, but our entire life belongs to the nation.’ This is a story of a people who fought for their country. However, when these people realise they have no place in their own country, they fight back without knowing what else to do. That is the story of 'The Paradise'."

Taking to her Instagram page to post stills from the film, actress Revathy recalled, "#mannvasanai 16th September 1983, 43 years back, Mann Vasanai was released all over Tamil Nadu and ran for more than 250 days in most theatres, single screens those days."

The actress then went on to express her gratitude to the makers of the film. She wrote, "I dedicate this post to Bharathi Rajaa sir, Kannan sir, Kalaimani sir(story), Panchu Arunachalam sir(dialogue), Editor Rajgopal sir, Pandian and Kanthimadhi amma."

She went on to add, "Ilaiyarajaa sir’s music is the movie’s lifeline. His composition 'Pothi Vechcha Malliga Mottu' sung by Janaki amma and SPB sir, written by Vairamuthu, is still popular. Chitra Lakshman uncle’s first film as a producer. (It) became one of the biggest hits in those days. My gratitude to all of them and many behind the scenes…"

Soon after Revathy put out the post, well known actress Suhasini, who is also the wife of ace director Mani Ratnam, reacted to it.

Suhasini replied to Revathy's post, saying, "Sep 7th Mangammagari Manavadu, remake of Mann Vaasanai released. How I begged you to act in that film. I thought I was too old at 22 to the young Revathy’s role. You refused. But rest is history. Congrats. Keep up the good work you always do. Love you Revs."

Revathy responded to Suhasini's post and said, "@suhasinihasan How can I forget… thank you my dear Hasini. Always there to cheer me on…"

For the unaware, 'Mann Vasanai' (The smell of soil) is a cult classic directed by late director Bharathiraja. The film, which featured Pandiyan and Revathy in the lead, was a phenomenal hit, with the film's songs in Ilaiyaraaja's music going on to emerge huge chartbusters. The film set the cash registers ringing at the box office, with the film running for well over 200 days in several theatres across the state.

New Delhi, Sep 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Delhi High Court on Wednesday declined to urgently hear the Kshatriya Karni Sena's plea challenging the Delhi Police's refusal to grant it permission to hold a protest against the UGC regulations at Jantar Mantar on September 20.

The plea was mentioned before Chief Justice D.K. Upadhyaya, who said the matter would be listed in the ordinary course after the defects in the petition were cured.

The Chief Justice indicated that the petition would be auto-listed on Thursday once the defects were cured.

Counsel appearing for the petitioner, Kshatriya Karni Sena President Dr Raj Shekhawat, submitted that permission had earlier been granted for the proposed protest scheduled for September 20, but the Delhi Police subsequently informed the Sena that the protest could not be held on that date.

The matter relates to the Kshatriya Karni Sena's proposed peaceful demonstration at Jantar Mantar on September 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. against reservation and the recently notified University Grants Commission (UGC) regulations.

On September 7, the Delhi High Court had directed the Delhi Police to decide by September 14 a fresh application submitted by the Kshatriya Karni Sena seeking permission for the September 20 demonstration.

A single-judge Bench of Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma had directed Shekhawat to submit the fresh application after his counsel informed the High Court that the organisation had changed the date of the proposed protest to September 20.

The Delhi High Court had directed the competent authority to consider the application and take a decision within a week, while making it clear that appropriate conditions could be imposed in accordance with law.

The Delhi Police had earlier denied permission for a protest proposed for September 6, citing preparations for the BRICS Summit.

The Kshatriya Karni Sena has been seeking withdrawal of the UGC (Promotion of Equity in Higher Education Institutions) Regulations, 2026, and has relied upon a Supreme Court order in which certain provisions of the regulations were kept in abeyance after the apex court found ambiguities in some of them and noted the possibility of their misuse.

Actor Vijay Sethupathi took to his X timeline to share the link to the glimpse video and wrote,"Experience the power-packed #WorldOfBaththa now. Written & Directed by #BalajiTharaneetharan A @SaiAbhyankkar musical. #BaththaFromOct1."

The glimpse video opens with all those close to Baththa eagerly awaiting his return. It is evident that the film is set in the eighties. While Baththa's daughter says she is scared and wants her dad to return, his brother is seen exuding confidence that his brother will return. A small kid is seen saying, "Everybody is scared of him but he isn't scared of anything." The glimpse video also goes on to show that people expect a big crime to happen and the police are seen asking people if they suspect anybody.

All through the glimpse video, Baththa comes across as a ruffian who keeps bashing people. The glimpse video also gives the impression that he is not the ideal husband. There is a scene where he is seen spitting out food served to him by his wife. In another sequence, we see his wife (played by Lijomol Jose) asking him where he was and that they were searching for him. He replies to her in an arrogant tone, "You shouldn't search for me. I will be found by myself."

Starring Vijay Sethupathi and Lijomol Jose in the lead roles, ‘Baththa’ has been directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan, who is best known for having delivered the superhit film 'Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom', and presented by well known director Atlee.

On the technical front, Baththa has music by Sai Abhyankkar and cinematography by Selvakumar S.K. R. Kalaivanan has taken care of the film's editing while T Muthuraj has served as its Production Designer.

The film is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on October 1, 2026.

Hyderabad, Sep 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) Vice-President of India C.P. Radhakrishnan will be hoisting the National Flag at Secunderabad Parade Grounds here on Thursday to mark Hyderabad Liberation Day.

Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan will be the chief guest at this year’s event. He will review the parade by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).

Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, Central ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, G. Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay Kumar and others will attend the event, which will also feature cultural programmes.

It was on September 17, 1948, that the then Hyderabad State was annexed into the Indian Union.

For the fifth consecutive year, the Centre is organising Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations.

Like the last few years, the Central and Telangana governments will celebrate the day with different themes.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will unfurl the National Flag at the main event to be held at the Public Garden in Hyderabad.

For the third year in a row, the state government is celebrating it as 'Telangana Praja Palana Dinotsavam (people's governance day)'. State ministers, government advisors, and key representatives will hoist the National Flag and take the salute at the official celebrations in all 32 district headquarters.

The National Flag will also be unfurled at all government offices, urban local bodies, and gram panchayats.

While the earlier Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government celebrated September 17 as 'National Integration Day' in 2022 and 2023, Congress, which came to power in December 2023, decided to celebrate the occasion as ‘Praja Palana Dinotsavam'.

In 2022, the Union Ministry of Culture started organising the celebrations in Hyderabad on September 17.

In 2024, the BJP-led government at the Centre decided to celebrate September 17 as Hyderabad Liberation Day. It issued a gazette notification, mentioning that Hyderabad did not get independence for 13 months after India's Independence on August 15, 1947 and continued to be under the Nizam's rule.

In 2022 and 2023, Union Home Minister Amit Shah unfurled the national flag at Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations. Union Coal and Mines Minister Kishan Reddy led the celebrations in 2024, while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was the chief guest in 2025.

The BJP has long been demanding an official celebration of September 17 as Hyderabad Liberation Day.

Earlier, in united Andhra Pradesh and later in Telangana, the party used to organise protests demanding that the government officially organise the celebrations.

Successive governments, however, avoided official celebrations in view of the objections from Muslim organisations, which claimed that a massacre took place in the name of 'Police Action' as 'Operation Polo' was popularly known.

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) led by Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi and other parties strongly opposed the celebrations on the grounds that the entire India has one Independence Day.

Accusing the BJP of giving communal colour to the issue, then Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in 2023 decided to celebrate September 17 as National Integration Day.

AIMIM also changed its strategy and celebrated it as National Integration Day.

Last year, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy invited Union Ministers Amit Shah, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Kishan Reddy, and Minister of State Bandi Sanjay Kumar to attend 'Praja Palana Dinotsavam' to celebrate the anniversary of the "arrival and heralding of democracy on Hyderabad soil".

The BJP leaders, however, rejected the invitation. Kishan Reddy wrote that he "cannot be part of an insincere ritual that blatantly attempts to erase the truth from the people".

New Delhi, Sep 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) Condemning the recent remarks of Karnataka Congress President, B.K. Hariprasad, on imprisoned student activist Umar Khalid, Telangana BJP President N. Ramchander Rao on Wednesday said that it was unfortunate to call such an individual 'a nationalist.'

Speaking to IANS, Rao said, “The Karnataka government and Karnataka leaders who have given a certificate of being a ‘nationalist’ to Umar Khalid is very unfortunate. We condemn such certificates being given to people who speak about dividing India, who speak about ‘azaadi’ for Kashmir. Who speak about ‘tukde-tukde karenge Bharat ke’. And these above persons indulge in anti-national activities.”

Claiming that the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) is a nationalist force, Rao said that the only body which would oppose such remarks is the student organisation affiliaited to the RSS.

“The Karnataka government must apologise to the people for making such statements, not only to the people of Karnataka but to the entire country,” he demanded.

Rao further claimed, “Because Umar Khalid is known for anti-national activities, such a person being branded as a nationalist is very unfortunate."

Reportedly, the ABVP opposed the proposal to screen a documentary on student activist Umar Khalid at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) in Bengaluru.

The ABVP had previously sought to cancel the proposed screening of film-maker Lalit Vachani’s documentary on imprisoned activist Umar Khalid, titled 'Prisoner No. 626710 is Present'.

On Tuesday, B.K. Hariprasad called imprisoned activist Umar Khalid a "nationalist" and criticised the ABVP for opposing a proposed documentary screening of the student activist at the NLSIU in Bengaluru.

He said that ABVP has no right to speak against Khalid because the organisation holds in high regard Nathuram Godse, who was the first 'terrorist' in India.

"Umar Khalid is a nationalist. And ABVP has no right to speak about Umar Khalid because ABVP adores Nathuram Godse, who was anti-national; the first terrorist of the country. They have no moral right or moral ethics to speak about Umar Khalid," Hariprasad told reporters.

Amaravati, Sep 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) Two young women were killed and their male friends injured when a car in which they were travelling rammed into a roadside hotel in Andhra Pradesh’s Anantapur district, but the families of the deceased have alleged that the youth killed them and made it look like an accident.

The incident occurred near Rotarypuram in the Bukkarayasamudram mandal of the district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Haritha (20) and Navanitha (20). Harita was a third-year nursing student at a college in Anantapur, while Navanitha was working as a nurse at a private hospital. They were friends for the last two years.

According to police, the young women were friends with Kumar, who was working in the hospital where Navaniha was employed as a nurse, and an insurance company agent, Sridhar Reddy, who was a regular visitor to the hospital.

All four friends left in a car on Monday night. After visiting Korrapadu, SRIT College and other areas, they left for Anantapur around 4 a.m. on Tuesday. Sridhar Reddy, who was driving the car, apparently lost control and rammed the vehicle into a roadside hotel near Rotarypuram, where a bridge was under construction.

According to police, Haritha, who was seated in the rear, died on the spot. Injured Navanitha, Sridhar Reddy and Kumar were shifted to a hospital, where Navanitha succumbed while undergoing treatment.

The families of the deceased women alleged that the youth took them in the car after luring them with sweet talk, murdered them and made it look like an accident. They expressed their suspicions as the youth survived with simple injuries.

Haritha’s mother, Salamma, said she had already warned her to be cautious about the youth and not to trust them. Navanitha’s mother, Vijaya, alleged that the youth had taken her daughter by misleading her and demanded stringent punishment.

Police said they have registered a case on the complaint of the families of the deceased and taken up the investigation. A police officer said they were analysing the CCTV footage.

The post-mortem examination report is likely to be key in ascertaining the cause of the deaths.

She said in a statement: “My father is very theatrical and that sometimes makes for great memories. For example, when I was in 1st standard, I had a spelling test and I was worried I was, for some reason, going to forget the spelling of ‘the’.”

“My father made it a point to build into my memory, so he did some overbearing gesture to teach me the spelling so I don’t forget it. But I remember him being this, like, grizzly bear, highly theatrical and highly entertaining.”

Om Ka Hari explores the complexities of the father-son relationship through comedy, drama and the things families often struggle to say to one another.

Directed by Harish Vyas, Om Ka Hari stars Anshuman Jha and Raghubir Yadav in the titular roles of Om and Hari.

The film follows a stubborn father and his independent-minded son, whose relationship is shaped by generational differences, disagreements and deeply held expectations. When Hari believes he has only a few days left to live, he decides to make a journey to Varanasi, with Om accompanying him.

Mumbai, Sep 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) In a scathing attack on the Maharashtra government, Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray on Wednesday highlighted the persistent failure of basic healthcare and transport infrastructure in the state's remote tribal belts.

The Thackeray camp, in an editorial in the party's mouthpiece, 'Saamana', accused the administration of blowing the trumpet of "rapid development" while neglecting fundamental amenities in regions like Nandurbar and Gadchiroli.

​"Maharashtra’s rulers beat their drums about reforms day in and day out, yet this progress has failed to reach the state's remote tribal areas. The struggle and long treks of poor tribals for medical treatment continue unabated," the editorial stated, pointing to a critical shortage of basic roads, emergency ambulances, hearse vehicles, healthcare staff, and essential medicines across rural belts. ​

The editorial cited two harrowing recent incidents to underline the human cost of the administrative lapses. "In Vehgi-Baripada from the tribal dominated Nandurbar district, a pregnant woman, Phulwanti Devram Padvi, was forced to trek seven kms late at night on a makeshift bamboo-and-cloth stretcher (jholi) due to the complete absence of roads and river bridges. After delivering her child at the Pimpalkhuta health centre, she and her newborn had to be carried back another seven kms on the same stretcher," it said.

​In another incident, grieving parents in the remote Gadchiroli district were forced to walk 15 kms carrying the bodies of their two deceased children on their shoulders because no ambulance or hearse van was provided by local authorities, the editorial mentioned. ​

The editorial further brought attention to recurring structural issues in tribal districts, including school children forced to cross rivers via rope bridges, snakebite deaths among young girls sleeping on hostel floors due to a lack of beds, and persistent child malnutrition deaths in areas like Melghat. ​

New Delhi, Sep 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) Representatives of students' organisation Krantikari Yuva Sangathan (KYS), along with the students of Jesus and Mary College, gave a memorandum to the college principal Molly K.A demanding hostel facilities for needy outstation students, a statement said.

Bhim Kumar, member of KYS Delhi State Committee, said on Tuesday that the delegation was led by the organisation's activists Mudita and Amrita.

He added that the submission of memorandum on Tuesday was a part of a wider campaign launched by the KYS to demand adequate hostel facilities for students in the wake of the Satya Niketan building collapse tragedy on September 6 which claimed seven lives.

During the meeting with the principal, the students also apprised KYS about surveillance of women students through the CCTVs in classrooms.

"This is unprecedented and exists nowhere else in Delhi University. Such an anti-women practice, that too by a college administration, is condemnable," the statement said, adding that the KYS will take up this issue with the college administration in the coming days.

The delegation later also met the Maitreyi College Principal Haritma Chopra and submitted a memorandum.

The Satya Niketan tragedy is not merely an isolated incident of a building collapse. It has exposed a much larger and long-standing problem of non-provision of hostel facilities in colleges, the statement said.

In the absence of hostel facilities, students are compelled to live in rented rooms and paying-guest accommodations, often in unsafe buildings and insecure neighbourhoods, it added.

"They (students) are often subject to harassment, arbitrary restrictions and exploitative behaviour from landlords and PG owners. Women students are particularly affected, as they, apart from unsafe buildings, have to face daily harassment from landlords in insecure neighbourhoods," it said.

The KYS, in the meetings with Principals, demanded that the college administrations take immediate concrete steps towards providing hostel facilities for needy outstation students.

The KYS said that it is going to step up its campaign for hostels for needy outstation students across DU and other higher education institutions in Delhi.

The organisation will also take up the issue of surveillance of women students in Jesus and Mary College, the statement said.

Amaravati, Sep 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday made it clear that private coaching centres should not become platforms for ‘political activities’ or ‘politically motivated conspiracies.’

Following a few recent incidents, the state government has focused its attention on the issue. It was observed that some individuals were allegedly pressuring private coaching centres with the intention of tarnishing the image of the government.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the matter with officials on Tuesday and directed them to take appropriate action against coaching centres found to be functioning in violation of the prescribed rules.

Officials informed the Chief Minister that certain private coaching centre managements were allegedly putting pressure on candidates preparing for competitive examinations and encouraging them to participate in protests and agitations. They stated that candidates who should be focusing on preparation for competitive examinations were being used for politically motivated protests.

The officials further informed the Chief Minister that some coaching centre owners were allegedly encouraging candidates to participate in protests and agitations with ulterior motives.

Taking serious note of the issue, the Chief Minister directed officials to initiate action against institutions violating the regulations.

The government made it clear that it would not tolerate private coaching centre managements involving candidates in politically motivated activities or allegedly using them as part of political conspiracies.

The Chief Minister directed officials to take legal action if coaching centres, which are meant to prepare candidates for various competitive examinations, encourage them to participate in political protests and agitations in violation of the rules.

The Government reiterated that private coaching centres must function in accordance with the guidelines prescribed under G.O. No. 9 of the Andhra Pradesh Coaching Institutions Regulation Rules, 2026. The Chief Minister instructed the authorities to take legal action against centres that fail to comply with these guidelines.

The government also appealed to candidates not to succumb to any kind of pressure and to remain focused on their future and competitive examinations. Candidates facing any difficulties in this regard have been advised to bring them to the notice of the concerned authorities.

BJP Mahila Morcha organised a Mahila Shakti Scooty Rally from Shri Bhagya Laxmi Temple, Charminar, to the Sardar Vallabhai Patel Statue near the Telangana Legislative Assembly, to demand that the Telangana government officially organise Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations.

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, along with state BJP President Ramchander Rao, participated in the rally on a bike after offering prayers at the Bhagya Lakshmi Temple.

Kishan Reddy stated that through the rally they honoured the courage and sacrifices of Telangana’s women in the struggle against the Nizam and the Razakars.

Women participated in the rally with great enthusiasm, embodying the spirit of Liberation Day, he said.

The BJP leaders paid rich tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by garlanding his statue.

The Central minister said that Telangana is the land of brave women who resisted the atrocities of the Nizam and the Razakars.

He slammed the Congress and BRS parties for failing to officially celebrate September 17, out of fear of what he called the vote-bank politics of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM).

Kishan Reddy claimed that, respecting the aspirations of the people of Telangana, the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been organising the Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations on a grand scale every year.

This year too, the Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations will be held at the Secunderabad Parade Grounds. He urged the people to turn out in large numbers for this ‘historic’ event.

State BJP President Ramchander Rao said that the BJP has long been demanding that September 17 be officially celebrated as 'Telangana Vimochana Diwas' (Telangana Liberation Day).

He alleged that the Congress and BRS governments avoided officially observing September 17 in Telangana due to fear of the AIMIM. He termed the party the ideological descendants and successors of the Nizam's army and the Razakars.

Ramchander Rao said the Central government led by the BJP has been officially celebrating this day in Hyderabad for the past five years. He demanded that the Congress government in Telangana also celebrate the day officially.

Hyderabad, Sep 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said on Tuesday that increased MDR on merchant UPI transactions above Rs 2,000 threatens India’s zero-MDR digital payment model.

“The BJP Government may claim that customers will not be charged directly. But if merchants are forced to pay, the cost will ultimately be passed on to the common consumer through higher prices,” the Chief Minister said in a post on X.

The Congress leader stated that any increase in MDR (Merchant Discount Rate) is nothing but an indirect tax imposed by the Central Government on common people every day.

“Why should small businessmen & common man bear the burden of increased digital payment costs?” asked CM Revanth Reddy.

“There must be immediate clarity on the UPI (Unified Payments Interface) policy, with a permanent commitment to protecting UPI transactions from increased MDR. Keep UPI ZERO-MDR,” he added.

The Chief Minister quoted the post by the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, who alleged that the Modi government has quietly opened the door to imposing fees on UPI.

“Now, MDR can be levied on merchant UPI transactions above Rs 2,000. Even if these transactions account for just 5% of the volume, they make up nearly 65% of UPI's total transaction value. The government says no fees will be charged to customers. But where will the fees imposed on shopkeepers ultimately come from? Added to prices, straight out of the customer's pocket,” said the Congress MP.

The Congress' attack came after the government directed banks and payment system providers not to levy charges on UPI transactions of up to Rs 2,000 or on payments made through RuPay debit cards.

The Leader of Opposition accused the Modi government of surrendering to American pressure.

“American payment companies have long opposed India's zero-MDR policy. Now, the Modi government has opened the path to changing the policy in exactly that direction. Just like with the US Trade Deal, Compromised PM Modi is once again surrendering to American pressure,” added Rahul Gandhi.

Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that instead of providing relief to the inflation-weary public, the Modi government is searching for a new way every day to rob their pockets.

Hyderabad, Sep 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday sought the cooperation of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in various development initiatives being undertaken by the state government.

The Chief Minister's request came as he met Prince Rahim Aga Khan V, the 50th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims and Chairman of the AKDN, who is currently on a visit to India.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), it was a courtesy call at Taj Falaknuma Palace here.

During the meeting, they discussed various development and heritage conservation initiatives being undertaken in Telangana with the support of the Aga Khan Foundation.

Recalling the AKDN’s contributions to the state, the Chief Minister said that the Telangana government holds the Aga Khan Foundation in high regard for its significant role in preserving and restoring the state’s rich heritage.

He also recalled the long-standing historical association between Hyderabad and the Aga Khan family.

He specifically highlighted the restoration of the Legislative Council building and the Qutub Shahi Tombs in Hyderabad with the Foundation’s support.

The Chief Minister briefed Prince Rahim Aga Khan V on the plans being prepared for the rejuvenation of the Musi River as part of the comprehensive redevelopment of Hyderabad.

He said the government is also working towards developing a vibrant night-time economy along the Musi River corridor. The Chief Minister sought the Foundation’s cooperation in the restoration and conservation of the historic City College and the Osmania General Hospital buildings located along the Musi riverfront.

CM Revanth Reddy said that a new building for Osmania General Hospital is being constructed at Goshamahal and that the existing hospital building is proposed to be conserved and developed as a heritage asset.

The Chief Minister invited Prince Rahim Aga Khan V to attend the three-day Invest Telangana global summit to be held at Bharat Future City from December 7 to 9. He said that representatives from more than 100 countries are expected to participate in the summit.

He noted that Bharat Future City is being developed across 30,000 acres with state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities. Located approximately 20 minutes from the international airport, the proposed Future City is envisioned as a fully net-zero city. He said that a Singapore-based company is preparing the master plan for Future City, with nearly 15,000 acres earmarked as a green zone.

The Chief Minister noted that leading organisations such as Amazon have already commenced operations in Future City. He further stated that the Telangana government is working towards increasing the state’s contribution to India’s GDP to 10 per cent by 2047.

Minorities Welfare <inister Mohammed Azharuddin, Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, Advisor K. Ramakrishna Rao, senior government officials and representatives of the Aga Khan Foundation were present during the meeting.

Visakhapatnam, Sep 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) Former Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Kali Krishna Srinivas (Alla Nani) died of cardiac arrest on Tuesday. He was 57.

Popularly known as Alla Nani, he breathed his last at his residence in Visakhapatnam.

Alla Nani began his political career with the Congress party. He was elected to the Assembly of united Andhra Pradesh from Eluru in 2004 and 2009 on the Congress party ticket.

He later joined the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and contested unsuccessfully on the party ticket in the 2014 Assembly elections.

Alla Nani was elected to the Legislative Council under the MLA quota in 2017. He was elected to the Assembly from Eluru in 2019. From 2019 to 2022, he served as the Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Medical and Health in YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP government.

Last year, Alla Nani quit YSRCP to join the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has condoled the demise of Alla Nani. He stated that he was deeply shocked to learn about the death of the former Deputy Chief Minister due to a heart attack at a young age. He conveyed his profound condolences to his family.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said in his condolence message that the sudden demise of former Deputy Chief Minister and senior political leader from Eluru, Alla Nani, caused him profound sorrow.

He noted that Alla Nani served the people as Eluru MLA for three terms and once as MLC. He prayed for his soul to attain peace and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family members.

Former Chief Minister and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed deep shock and grief over the sudden demise of Alla Nani.

Jagan said Alla Nani’s untimely death was deeply painful and recalled his long public career, including being elected three times as MLA from Eluru and serving the people for many years.

He remembered Alla Nani’s key role in the YSRCP government as Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister, and said he discharged his responsibilities in the public health sector with dedication.

Jagan said Alla Nani’s passing was an irreparable loss to his family and admirers. He prayed for peace to the departed soul and for strength to the bereaved family.

He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Alla Nani’s family members, relatives and supporters.

Amaravati, Sep 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) YSR Congress Party Youth Wing State President and former MLA Jakkampudi Raja on Tuesday accused the TDP-led coalition government in Andhra Pradesh of police surveillance and intimidation against young people questioning its failure to implement election promises.

Addressing the media at the Rajahmundry Press Club, Raja said YSRCP leaders, social-media activists and journalists had been subjected to cases and harassment for questioning the government. He said unemployed youth demanding a job calendar, police constable recruitment and promised employment opportunities were being targeted, while coaching centres were being subjected to inspections and pressure.

Raja said the government was using Intelligence, Special Branch and Cyber Crime wings for digital profiling of Gen-Z youth, WhatsApp groups, Facebook and Instagram users, YouTubers and influencers. Collecting details of coaching-centre managements and faculty and monitoring young people’s online networks amounted to an abuse of State machinery, he said.

He charged that law and order had deteriorated while the entire police system was being deployed against critics. Referring to the Tirupati incident involving women paramedical students demanding stipends, Raja condemned the police action against them and said the government should apologise if it could not fulfil its promises instead of suppressing those demanding answers.

Raja warned that attempts to control young people had historically triggered powerful movements, citing East Germany, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and student movements in Gujarat and Bihar. He asked whether the government would dare invoke stringent action against Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for his remarks on irregularities in Andhra Pradesh DSC.

Referring to the CAG report, Raja said the coalition had pushed the State into severe financial distress, with the government depending heavily on borrowings and overdrafts. He said the YSRCP government had transparently filled lakhs of permanent government posts and demanded immediate implementation of the promised Rs 3,000 monthly unemployment allowance and annual job calendar.

Raja said YSRCP president and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would soon return to the people through another padayatra to understand their problems directly.

Hyderabad, Sep 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao on Tuesday alleged that the police department in Telangana was working more actively for the Congress party than even its own workers.

He condemned the attack on his PRO, Mahesh Mudiraj, and PA Mahender Reddy inside the police station in Hyderabad on Monday.

Speaking to media persons in Delhi, he alleged that the Congress party was resorting to the attacks out of frustration.

"The government is in a state of frustration and desperation. That is why it was resorting to attention diversion every single day. Unable to answer the questions we have been raising after 1,000 days, the government is resorting to these attacks," he said.

The BRS leader said earlier that an attack was carried out on the residence of KCR, a senior leader who was elected by the people of Telangana twice as Chief Minister and who fought relentlessly for the achievement of Telangana.

"An attack was carried out on the house of a leader who fought for Telangana without caring for his own life. When we went there to stop the attack, we were detained inside the police station, and an attempt was made to attack us as well," he said.

He claimed that on Monday, the government again attempted to attack his PRO and my PA inside the police station itself, using around 15 people.

"Who were the people who attempted the attack inside the police station - goons or police? It must be established who those people were who came in plain clothes and attacked them. Even when we demanded that an FIR be registered over the attack on our people, the police refused to register one," he said.

Rama Rao alleged that the police are supporting those who resorted to attacks inside a police station and are refusing to register FIRs. "Our senior leaders, MLAs and former ministers were there and repeatedly requested the police for five hours to register an FIR. Yet, the police refused to do so," he said.

"Such is the deplorable situation in Telangana today that the police are not even willing to register an FIR. We will approach the courts in this matter. I hope justice will be delivered through the courts," he added.

The BRS leaders earlier posted on X that Telangana is on the brink of absolute chaos. "Lynching doesn’t always start as an act of killing. Sometimes it starts as a carefully planned attack inside a fully functional police station, in front of uniformed officials. The way gondaism is being sponsored and enabled by state machinery, I am worried that very soon we will see acts of lynching on the streets," he posted on 'X'.

"What happened with my PR Mahesh Manikayala and PA Mahendar Reddy inside a police station can happen to any citizen of Telangana who will not bow down to oppression," he added.
