Dwayne made his mark as in the professional wrestling as The Rock before hitting Hollywood superstardom, and his father Rocky Johnson was also a professional wrestler back in the day. Owing to his father's calling, the family had to travel a lot, which left Dwayne changing schools constantly and trying to make new friends.

"I sit down next to a kid, and within 60 seconds, he goes, 'Can I ask you something?' I said, 'Yeah.' He goes, 'Are you a boy or a girl?' I would say between the ages of seven and 11, people thought that I was a little girl because I had really soft features and I had really soft Afro hair," recalled Dwayne while talking to Sunday Today, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

The actor shared his thoughts about his presidential ambitions and said he would be interested in running for the position if people "want to see it happen".

Snyder had to back out of superhero film in May 2017 due to his daughter Autumn committing suicide at the age of 20. He was replaced by Joss Whedon, who changed the film, which did not go down well with fans.

A huge public uproar resulted in the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut campaign.

The filmmaker says that while he was all for the idea, he did not expect it would happen because he was scared of a lawsuit from Warner Bros.

"I was more worried the studio would sue me. Do something to silence me," he said, according to contactmusic.com.

Snyder released his version of the film subsequently, and he says his fans did a lot for him at that time.

"Here's the reality. That fandom raised $750,000 for suicide prevention and mental health awareness. They've saved lives. That's a fact. But on the other hand, was it fun to provoke them? For a clickable thing? Yes. And they were an easy target. But they continue to raise money," he said.

"'Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele' is a human story of a special friendship that blooms, by chance, between a man and woman -- both homosexuals -- who are not only polar opposites -- think yin and yang -- but have had completely different personal journeys," says Vyas.

"My endeavour with this film is to bring forth the warm, positive, loving embrace that is the soul of friendship, and to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community to which I have been close to. We are grateful to have had a universal audience in New York, Australia and all the festivals where the film was showered with love, and global recognitions," adds the filmmaker, who earlier directed "Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain".

"After 'Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain' I wanted to follow up with a light, compassionate journey to re-discover love and friendship. 'Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele' is the culmination of that thought," Vyas explains.

The film features Anshuman Jha, Zareen Khan.

Anshuman said: "The intent has been to bring forth a 'pure' story. The Supreme Court of India has legalised homosexuality but there is still a section of society that considers it a taboo in India. My character Veer hasn't mustered the courage to speak openly to his family because he fears that they won't accept it. With friendship and love at its core, 'Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele' is a movie that will feel like a warm hug and hopefully inspire people to have more open conversations."

The film has travelled to several international film festivals earlier and bagged awards.

Zareen added: "I was immediately drawn to the depth and emotionality of Mansi (her character) since I heard the narration and post-reading the screenplay. Its unique storyline hooked me. Just like Veer and Mansi's lives change after their road trip, 'Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele' has been a life-changing experience for me and I do hope the film is able to relay the message that love is love."

Maniesh says the clip had him in splits, adding that during times as these, it is important to try and lift up one's spirit.

The meme opens as the original song did, with Big B and Zeenat's characters, as on-screen lovers, on a gondola ride in Venice. The boatman starts singing in Italian, to which Bachchan's character asks his lady love the meaning of his words.

That's where the humour kicks in. "Mujhe kya maloon... main toh Bhandup mein rehti hai (how would I know, I live in Bhandup)!" utters Zeenat's character in the meme, instead of the actual lines in the song!

Mumbai, May 3 (SocialNews.XYZ) Actor Sonu Sood arranged for a critically-ill Covid patient to be airlifted from Jhansi to Hyderabad after doctors at the local hospital said treatment wouldn't be possible in Jhansi any longer.

The patient, Kailash Agarwal's CT score was just a point below the highest permissible limit and the family, while searching for a hospital with better infrastructure, put in a request to Sonu.

The actor and his team got into action, which led to availability of an ICU bed with ventilator facility in Hyderabad.

"Doctors had asked the patient to be shifted to a bigger hospital, and the challenge was to get the necessary permissions from the District Magistrates in order to get the air ambulance and get the transfer done. As there are no airports at Jhansi, the air ambulance had to pick up the patient from Gwalior, and it was another major challenge to bring the patient from Jhansi to Gwalior. But the team came through and got everything set up so that no time was wasted. The treatment is going on well at Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad, and we hope for the best," Sonu told IANS.

As per the latest reports, the patient is stable and is responding to treatment.

"I play the character of Rolly Rai. This is a simple girl next door. It's set in the 1980s. Season one was an introduction and in season two, I take over. I play the female protagonist," she declares.

"This is about how this simple girl weaves her path into the world of politics to save her family and loved ones from getting completely destroyed. This is her journey and how she powers herself and her loved ones. She has to step into dirty politics to protect her family," Soundarya added.

About the show, she added: "It has an old charm and it takes a hard line. It's very challenging to play de-glamorous at the beginning of my career. I sat with the makers to design this look so that it looks very unconventional and not how we have seen this young 22-23 year old girl. It's inspired from true events so we can't play around too much with the character," she said.

"Since it's set in purvanchal so it has got that UP touch to it," she summed up.

Farhan, who also produces the film along with partner Ritesh Sidhwani and the film's director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, posted the joint statement of the makers on his Twitter account.

"The situation in India is truly heart-breaking, and we at Excel Entertainment and ROMP Pictures send our thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by the pandemic. In light of the severity of the situation, our focus is completely on the pandemic and on supporting our employees, their families and in helping the wider community. Therefore, we have taken the decision to postpone the release of our film 'Toofaan' until the situation improves. We will issue an update regarding the new release date in due course of time," the statement read.

"Please continue to observe Covid Appropriate Behaviour. Also, please register and get vaccinated when it's your turn. On behalf of the entire team of Toofaan, we urge you to Stay Home, Stay Safe and Stay United. Jai Hind," the statement added.

Frontman Dexter Holland says there has been a lot of "crazy politics" going on in the US, which is why this is the right time for the album to come out.

"It felt right to be writing these songs that talk about what's going on right now. The time was right for this record. The social upheaval of the past year has been incredible. There's a lot of crazy politics going on," Holland said, in an interview with contactmusic.com.

He added: "There's definitely been things going on in the US that feel very America-centric to us. But we see it going on around the world too -- in Hong Kong, for example, and Myanmar."

The band, which had been together for eight years, got their big break with their 1994 album "Smash".

Recalling those days, Holland said: "Talk about a complete change of life. Within three months, we'd gone from what we were to being a full-time punk rock group, or rock'n'roll band. It was a rollercoaster, (by then) we'd been doing the band for a long time, and that was an advantage for us."

Talking about her track in the EP titled "Summer Evening", Akanksha says: "I tend to draw parallels between contrasting ideas. 'Summer evening' conveyed my state of mind. While writing this one, I was going through a rough phase. The song is about hope and faith when it comes to love and longing, and creating it was like channelising a lot of tangled thoughts into words!"

Mayank sang "Taste Me", which also has a music video. He describes his track thus: "'Taste Me' is everything your parents warned you about -- saucy, sexy and delicious!"

Vinod, who has contributed to the EP with his song "Crossfire", says that he is satisfied with how the song came out.

"Being part of an electronic EP, was something I never thought would happen so early in my career. But, when Jay asked me to play a solo on 'Crossfire', my approach towards the solo was very different from what I usually play in my band Kapow! The solo came out to be much more melodic and I had the most fun while composing. The outro is what I call a mistake that made the solo catchy!" he says.

The EP has been curated by music producers Jay Rana and Skopos.

Chaitanya Tamhane's new film intricately weaves diverse threads. It talks of the state of Hindustani Classical music and its 'Guru-Shishya parampara'. There is adequate reference to the blatant commercialising of music, as well as how myths are created around icons in the world of art. Importantly, in a sublime final scene, the film leaves a lingering question. What really is the mark of purity in art -- does it lie in rigorous learning, or is it about simplistic rendition that communicates to all with sincerity?

Tamhane's new film, which boasts of Oscar-winner Alfonso Cuaron as an executive producer, is exceptional for the way it reiterates the value of the musical as a cinematic genre. Richly laced with remarkable classical recitals, the narrative uses its music quotient to do more than merely move the story forward. Here, music is a character in the plot.

"The Disciple" marks Tamhane's return to direction after his globally acclaimed 2014 debut directorial feature "Court". While his new film has similar nuanced portrayal of characters and a keen introspection of reality, the varied plot lends to a different approach in storytelling. "Court" unfolded as caustic satire, using an unflinching gaze at judiciary and caste discrimination. While the film conveyed quiet anger over societal imbalance and corruption in the system, Tamhane' new effort looks within, into the protagonist's psyche in search of angst. "The Disciple" is a difficult coming-of-age saga, tracing a journey from youth to resignation, and encompassing elements of doubt and confusion in its wake.

Tamhane's triumph here is not just about brilliant writing and execution. A large part of the authenticity is because of the perfect casting. The protagonist Sharad Nerulkar is essayed by Aditya Modak, a trained classical singer. As Sharad's guru Pandit Vinayak Pradhan, Tamhane casts Arun Dravid, a classical exponent and Kishori Amonkar' disciple.

The film traces Sharad's story through three phases of his life. The narrative begins in his twenties, and shifts time frames between his past as a child, with a focus on his father who was also a classical singer. There is also Sharad of the late thirties and beyond.

Sharad of the mid-twenties is devoted to his pursuit of excellence. He fails to win at a classical music competition somewhere around the start of the story, and accepts with fact betraying no sadness. It is a temperament he maintains through much of what unfolds. Sharad's anguish is more private -- he is racked by a streak of self-doubt that, among other things, often hampers his ability to perform on stage. Much later, he is plagued by a sense of confusion and disillusionment when he realises certain truths about ideals.

An important aspect of the story is Sharad's relationship with his guru, Pandit Vinayak. Sharad worships Vinayak who, in turn, was a disciple of his mother, or Maai. We never see Maai in the narrative, but Sharad's silent deifying of his mother is conveyed in the narrative by the way he values the audio tapes she left behind, of lectures on music and the musician's code (voiced impressively by Sumitra Bhave).

"The Disciple" celebrates the craft of filmmaking as few films do. It is a harmony of cinematic excellence in every department. Tamhane's vision as writer, director and editor is brought to life by the entire cast, and also gets exquisite expression in the cinematography of Michal Sobocinski and the efforts of the music team, led by Aneesh Pradhan and Naren Chandavarkar. The film demands your interest if you truly value the aesthetics of cinema.
