Recently, at the launch of ‘Jungle Elements’, a skincare venture founded by the 'Teri Meri Love Stories' fame actress’ friend Vipul Roy, Divyanka offered a glimpse into her secrets for maintaining radiant and healthy skin.

Talking about her summer skincare routine, Diyanka said: “I prioritise cleanliness and minimal makeup when not in front of the camera. If I'm not facing the camera, I avoid makeup and just use mascara and lipstick. That is all I use so that my skin can breathe.”

“At home, my routine includes face wash, moisturiser, and sunscreen, sometimes supplemented with serum for added hydration. However, simplicity is the key for me, typically opting for just face wash and moisturiser as essentials,” she shared.

When asked about her skincare routine in her younger days, Divyanka shared: “Coming from a simple middle-class background, I grew up using skincare creams readily available in local stores. Given my sensitive skin, I was cautious about trying new products during my early days, fearing adverse reactions. Therefore, I predominantly relied on packaged products. I'm grateful for the availability of such options today.”

Divyanka is thrilled about her actor friend Vipul’s latest venture. Vipul is known for his work in shows like 'Dr. Madhumati On Duty', 'Sahib Biwi Aur Boss' among others.

“Vipul is a very close friend of mine; we are childhood buddies. We started our careers together years ago, and I'm very proud of him as he evolves with each passing day and has now become an entrepreneur with ‘Jungle Elements’. I not only like the name but also the theme, as it uses Ayurvedic products that he has curated himself,” Divyanka said.

On the work front, Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya recently played an undercover agent in the series 'Adrishyam,’ where she starred alongside Eijaz Khan in the lead role.

“In recent times, the popularity of red lipstick has waned due to a shift towards more natural and subtle makeup trends. People are embracing minimalism and enhancing their features with softer, nude shades,” Penaz Mithuji, who has been the makeup artist for celebrities such as Late Irrfan Khan, Vidyut Jammwal, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aparshakti Khurana and rapper Divine, told IANS.

The pandemic, too, played spoilsport for lipstick lovers as it “has led to a focus on eye makeup rather than bold lip colours.”

Mithuji minces no words when she sees the “bright” future of red.

“Classic trends have a way of resurging, so we’ll see a return of red lipsticks.”

Bollywood personalities, who are tagged as trendsetters, also choose natural hues over striking red lips, whether they are on or off the screen. Celebrity makeup artist Amrin Mukhi, however, mentions that there are many takers of the colour such as Deepika Padukone and veteran actress Rekha who own the shade.

“Red lips shall never go out of style! This glamorous, seductive and classic trend has had many takers from Marilyn Monroe to Elizabeth Taylor to the 'Material Girl' Madonna to our very own Rekhaji and Deepika Padukone and the list has them all,” Mukhi, who has worked with Esha Gupta, Shehnaaz Gill and Kritika Kamra among others, told IANS.

She added: “We do try some very stunning variations in the bold mouth trend like deep berry or beautiful browns with rich undertones depending on the looks we are creating and the colour palette we are playing with.”

So what makes the shade of red so popular among makeup artists?

Kinchangthui Bariamtak, who has shown magic on celebrities such as Ed Westwick, Akshay Kumar, Sunny Leone and Taapsee Pannu, to name a few, told IANS that it has a “timeless appeal.”

“And its association with the colour of blood adds a certain allure and power to it. It's definitely a classic choice in the world of fashion and beauty. It can and never will be out of fashion.”

Kinchangthui, who is famously called Kin, shared that lighter colours may be preferred depending on the trend, versatility, and preference”

Saikat Chakraborty, National Artist M.A.C Cosmetics India, strongly believes that red lips will always be a classic. However, he reasons why people are now opting for natural shades.

“It’s like one of those trends that never go out of style; however, red can be an intimidating or bold colour for many individuals’ personal style – therefore, naturally, people are tilting towards nudes or peachy/pink neutrals this season,” Chakraborty told IANS.

The reason nude lips are so popular – "versatility," says Chakraborty, who added that it is easy to wear for everyday occasions.

He said: “More so for its versatility in terms of pairing it with outfits, other focus features of the face; example – a nude lip paired with a smoky eye balances out the look and imagine the same with a red lip – a blaring bold look."

“Nude lips can be easily incorporated for an everyday look, office look, a 90s Nudes version of red carpet look, to the movies, dates, practically anywhere – also, nude lips allow individuals to customise the level of nudeness on the basis of personal preference, (and) skin tone.”

Sharing an anecdote, Gitanjali fondly remembered her childhood days spent in her mother's kitchen, where she would often create delightful chaos. Despite the mess, her mother always encouraged her creativity, making the kitchen her sanctuary -- a space where she could freely express herself through culinary adventures whenever she sought respite from her studies.

For the special day, Gitanjali is preparing her mother's favourite, the Peruvian ceviche. A delightful dish, Gitanjali explained, "it typically consists of fresh raw fish marinated in citrus juices, primarily lime or lemon, which effectively 'cooks' the fish through a process called 'denaturation'. The dish is then seasoned with onions, chilli peppers, salt and cilantro, creating a refreshing and tangy flavour profile."

Jawairia Merchant, chef and founder of Thai Naam, Mumbai, remembered how her initial inspiration for cooking stemmed from her mother, making Mother's Day particularly significant for her.

"As a child, my mother was my role model -- always composed and unruffled, especially in the kitchen," Jawairia said. "I have strived to emulate her calm demeanour throughout my culinary journey. She possessed a knack for quick fixes in the kitchen, always having a solution for mishaps. My mother remains my primary and most influential source of inspiration, shaping me into the cook I am today."

Jawairia's mother loves seafood, so the good daughter is preparing a mango fish curry for her on this occasion.

Juggling work commitments and family responsibilities can be challenging, but for Saraswati Devi Ahirwar, who serves as a chef at Fat Tiger in Gurugram, being a mother alongside her culinary career brings her profound happiness. Infusing her dishes with a touch of maternal care is her secret ingredient. She believes it enhances the flavours and makes her creations truly delightful.

On this Mother's Day, Saraswati is cooking a mouthwatering vegetarian pasta, the red hot arrabbiata, for her mom.

Saraswati outlined her recipe for red hot arrabbiata. She explained, “First, I will cook some penne pasta until they are just perfect. After that, I will cook some minced garlic and chopped onion in olive oil until they are perfectly soft. After this, I will add some diced red and yellow bell peppers and cook them until they are nice and tender. Then, I will add some chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, and a blend of dried oregano and red pepper flakes."

Concluding her recipe, Saraswati said, "After letting everything cook for a while, I will mix them with the cooked penne pasta until it is well coated with the sauce. And finally, I will garnish the dish with freshly chopped parsley on top for a burst of colour and freshness."

For Ashna Mehta, chef and co-founder of Cafe 49, Mumbai, "Mother's Day is all about celebrating the real superwoman in our lives -- the one who has raised and nurtured us, and stayed up all night, taken care of our tantrums and ensured we never went to bed hungry."

Continuing her ode to her mother, Ashna added, "She is a true force of nature, an epitome of selflessness and love, the rock of the family who possesses unwavering strength that keeps everyone together." And to treat her mother "as the queen she truly is", Ashna is whipping up a Hazelnut Teacake.

For Singapore-based celebrity chef Sarab Kapoor, Mother's Day is not about receiving material tokens of affection. What matters to her is knowing her children feel loved and supported and that they have someone they can always rely on.

Sarab, sadly, lost her mother recently, but she plans to honour her memory by preparing Gajar Halwa and Phirni. "Cooking these desserts is not just about satisfying my cravings; it's also a way for me to feel closer to my mother and to keep her memory alive through the flavours she cherished most," Sarab said.

Chef Megami Mehta, a junior sous chef at The Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi, said her mother has been incredibly supportive of her culinary journey and is always willing to taste-test her crazy food experiments.

On this special day, Megami is preparing a chicken casserole for her mother. It is her way of recognising the immense role that mothers play as "pillars of strength in our lives".

Reflecting on moments shared with her mother, Megami said, "Countless times, my mom and I have shared hearty laughs over spilt ingredients or unplanned kitchen blunders. The great-grandson of Jaipur's last ruler, Sawai Man Singh II, Padmanabh Singh is the son of Rajasthan's Deputy Chief Minister Divya Kumar and her husband, Narendra Singh. It was the luxury hotel chain, The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, that conferred the honour upon him.

The 25-year-old Jaipur scion, who's called Pacho by his family and friends, started playing competitive polo in 2015 when he was a student in England, and a member of the Guards Polo Club, which has had a long association with the British royal family.

Padmanabh Singh is the youngest winner of the Indian Open Polo Cup and the youngest captain ever of the Indian polo team. Previous to him, sarod virtuosos Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash, Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, Miss World 2017 and Bollywood actress Manushi Chhillar, and leading woman cricketer Smriti Mandhana have been honoured with the title.

Making the announcement, Anuraag Bhatnagar Chief Executive Officer, The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, said in a statement that the award "highlights our focus on connecting with India's young demographic who are rooted in their culture and firmly confident in their outlook to embrace a dynamic future."

Padmanabh Singh, speaking about his association with the luxury hotel chain, said it started in 2022 with "The Leela Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Polo Cup, where I have been leading The Leela team for the last two years."

Mumbai, May 10 (SocialNews.XYZ) RASA Cabernet Sauvignon 2022, the flagship label of the Nashik-based Sula Vineyards, has become the first-ever Indian wine produced from this revered category of grapes to win a gold medal at the prestigious Global Cabernet Sauvignon Masters 2024.

The red wine was rated along with an array of other Cabernet Sauvignons priced under £30. As reported on the website of the competition organiser, the UK-based 'Drinks Business' magazine, gold medals were awarded to "a number of vibrantly fruity, gently oaked, well-balanced wines".

Among the winners from the wines, which, like the rest, were judged at a blind tasting by an independent jury comprising experts from all over the world, 'Drinks Business' highlights Kenwood Vineyards for its Jack London Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma in California ("unusually inexpensive at £27") and Sula Vineyards' RASA Cabernet Sauvignon ("at the more modestly priced £17.99").

The judges assessed scores of these robust and generally expensive red wines across price brands from around the world. The prices mentioned are those that are prevailing in the UK market. The current conversion rate of a pound sterling is Rs 104.63.

The award won by RASA marks the first time an Indian wine has received a gold medal at the Global Masters Awards in any category.

Interestingly, India's maturing wine industry is still not known for its Cabernet Sauvignon, the grape variety that is famously the backbone of the top wines of Bordeaux, France. The gold medal for RASA, though, will definitely make the world look at Indian Cabernet Sauvignons with greater interest.

The Cabernet Sauvignon, according to 'Drinks Business', "is an old variety, first mentioned in a written text in 1763-1777 as 'Petit Cabernet', but has certainly been around much longer. Its first mention as Cabernet Sauvignon was not until 1840."

The authoritative trade magazine goes on to mention that the grape variety's "parentage was discovered in 1996 at University of California-Davis, and was found to be a mating between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc, both of which have been grown in France's Gironde for millennia."

Rajeev Samant, Founder-CEO of Sula Vineyards, responded by saying in a press statement, "Receiving this gold medal for our flagship wine during Sula's 25th anniversary year is deeply symbolic. It reaffirms our evolution from humble beginnings to an internationally recognised brand."

The fabrics used for the collection are linen, khadi silk, and khadi, which serve as the foundational fabrics for the collection. From printed saris and flowing kaftans and jackets complete the collection.

According to the statement, Puducherry plays a pivotal part with the scent of roses mixed with the aroma of French coffee. The colonial structures with open windows draped in soft, flowy tapestries and a woman or two enveloped in thoughts and conversations around the verandas with their crochet needles capture the imagination.

The rose motif, fleur d'amour, translating to the flower of love, serves as the focal point of this collection. Hand-painted and then carved into wooden blocks, the rose is featured in bouquets, trellises, all over lattices, and in individual placements.

Hand block printing mixed with applique and embroidery makes this collection uniquely detailed.

The colour palette includes white paired with the hues from the gardens of the Indo-French Riviera, smoke blue and blush, soft yellow, and green to recreate the feeling of a rosarium.

The film narrates the story of an imperfectly perfect partnership between a couple with a shared love for cricket.

Directed by Sharan Sharma, 'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi' marks the second collaboration between Rajkummar and Janhvi, who previously worked together in the 2021 film 'Roohi'.

'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi' is scheduled to release on May 31.

Parinita, who portrays Gargi Mahajan in the show 'Vanshaj', discovers respite in her personal artistic pursuits amid the hectic shoot schedule.

For her, the process of sketching serves as a therapeutic escape from the intensity of her on-screen persona, allowing her to recharge and reconnect with her inner self. Whenever she gets a break between shoots, Parinita is often found with a pen and paper, either sketching, doodling, or writing, as she believes in having multiple outlets for creativity.

Speaking about this, she said: "All of us have moved to Umergaon for the shoot of 'Vanshaj', away from our families, so we often find some or other ways to keep ourselves busy. I had always been fond of sketching and would often find myself doodling something or the other on set."

"It allows me to relax during the shoot. Recently, I have also taken up writing, as I aspire to be a writer one day. Both these activities give me creative respite, and I feel it is very important to balance your work and personal passions as they keep you sane," she added.

Sharing her fitness routine for the summer, Geetanjali, who portrays Rajesh in the sitcom 'Happu Ki Ultan Paltan', shared: "Summertime shouldn’t be an excuse to skip fitness. Often, due to the heat, people tend to skip exercises or indulge in drinks that contain a lot of sugar, which is not healthy."

"Staying active in the summer can be a challenging task, but with a few modifications to the routine and the right exercises, one can beat the heat and stay fit during the summer. I start my day with yoga and enjoy evening jogs by the sea. I also have dumbbells at home for added stability during floor exercises," she said.

Geetanjali further said that hydration remains paramount in the heat, whether through water or electrolyte-rich beverages.

"I indulge in natural fruit juices almost daily during the summer, while also occasionally savouring my mom's homemade 'aam panna'," she added.

New Delhi, May 9 (SocialNews.XYZ) National Award-winner Rajkummar Rao is a complete Delhi boy when it comes to his food choices, as he expresses his love for indulging in some lip-smacking "rajma chawal, aloo parantha, and chaat."

Hailing from Gurugram, Rajkummar talked about his love for Delhi food.

“I feel that the food in Delhi is better,” Rajkummar told IANS.

The actor added: “Rajma chawal, aloo parantha. I am a vegetarian so… Then there is chaat that I like.”

Rajkummar also finds vada pav good too, but hasn’t developed the taste for it as much.

“Vada pav is good too, but then since I was not raised eating vada pav, so taste utna develop nahi ho paya hai. But then there are things that taste better in Bombay. So, both places have their own positives and negatives.”

Rajkummar is gearing up for 'Srikanth', his upcoming movie, to hit theaters on May 10.

The film, which also stars Jyotika and Sharad Kelkar, is based on the life of industrialist Srikanth Bolla.
