Mumbai, Aug 31 (SocialNews.XYZ) Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ‘King’, once revealed the reason behind him not going to Kashmir for the longest time.

An old clip from the quiz based reality show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ has resurfaced on the Internet, and it shows the megastar talking about his family roots.

He told the show host Amitabh Bachchan, “It's a very emotional story, Amitji. My father's mother was Kashmiri. He had told me in my life, to look at three places in life, whether I live or not. He said, look at Istanbul, look at Italy, Rome, and look at Kashmir. But look at the other two places without me, but don't look at Kashmir without me. So he died very early, and I've been all over the world, but I never went to Kashmir”.

He further mentioned, “And I got many opportunities, many friends invited me, and my family went on vacation. But I never went to Kashmir, because my father had told me, ‘Don't visit Kashmir without me, I'll show you’. And then, suddenly this happened, and Yash Chopra told me, ‘We'll shoot in Kashmir’. And normally I have refused, not for any other reason, not for any political, geographical, or any other reason, but because there was an emotion, that I'll look at Kashmir with my father. But I just felt that's not the case. So the best would be actually, to go with Yashji”.

SRK was talking about shooting for ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ which was shot in Kashmir. Yash Chopra decided to hang his boots after directing the film. However, the legendary filmmaker passed away in 2012, marking his last collaboration with SRK.

The singer’s family gathered for an intimate funeral at Nashville’s Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum, where she was laid to rest beside her husband, who died in March 2025 at the age of 82.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Dolly's niece Lainey Parton shared that the singer had been laid to rest in a heartfelt tribute to the singer. She shared a series of pictures of the pair over the years.

She wrote in the caption, "This is a really hard post for me to make. I wanted to wait until after my granny was laid to rest yesterday before I tried to put any of this into words. From the time I was little, my granny always had a way of making me feel like I was enough. She never made my dreams feel too big or made me feel like I couldn’t do something. She believed in me before I even knew how to believe in myself. Most people can think of at least one bad memory with everyone in their family. I honestly can’t think of one with her. Because she couldn’t have kids of her own, she always made us feel like we were hers. She loved us that way, and I’ll forever be grateful for that”.

She further mentioned, “One memory I’ll always hold onto is when she asked me to sing with her on her @smokymountaindna album. I was a freshman in high school and SO nervous. But she had a way of making me feel like nothing bad could happen. She made me feel safe, confident, and like I belonged right there beside her (sic)”.

"As I got older, she continued to believe in me. When I told her I wanted to go to beauty school, she never questioned why I wasn’t going to college. She told me she couldn’t see me doing anything else. She financially supported me through school and helped me get my career started. She didn’t just tell me to chase my dreams, she helped me get there. I’m so thankful I said yes to the opportunities and memories I got to share with her as my Aunt Dolly, including being in a movie with her. I’m so glad I have those moments to look back on now. I have things I can watch, hear, and hold onto when I miss her”, she added.

The actress refuses to sing the song when fans ask her. The 63-year-old actress said that she has "zero complaints about ‘Friends’ or anything to do with it" and will happily repeat her character Phoebe Buffay’s iconic lines, but when it comes to performing her beloved alter ego's tune, she is simply not interested.

The actress recently appeared on the latest episode of the ‘Fresh Air with Terry Gross and Tonya Mosley’ podcast. She said, "Sometimes people will stop me and say, 'Oh, sing Smelly Cat’ I don't want to do that. I really don't want to do that”.

The sitcom, which ran from 1994 until 2004, followed 6 best friends living in New York, Phoebe (played by Lisa Kudrow), Rachel Green (played by Jennifer Aniston), Ross Geller (played by David Schwimmer), Monica Geller (played by Courteney Cox), Chandler Bing (played by Matthew Perry) and Joey Tribbiani (played by Matt LeBlanc).

The actress shared that she adored "every part" of making the show because of the enduring bond she made with her co-stars.

Actor Gulshan Grover had shared during his appearance on 'The Kapil Sharma' show that when he learned about this during his early days in the industry, he thought that he would never be able to act like Naseeruddin as he likes to take around 2 to 4 baths a day, whenever possible.

However, Gulshan Grover added that by the hand of fate, he got roles in which he always had to be decked up with a drink in his hand.

"When I was new in movies, I had heard that Naseeruddin Shah, a great actor, didn't take a bath for 1.5-2 months for his film 'Chakra'. He wanted to be in the character. I take a bath 2-4 times...Whenever I get a chance. Oh, God! I said, I won't be able to act like him. However, my luck was such that I got all the roles in which I was wearing a suit and holding a drink."

Talking about 'Chakra', the 1981 release was made under the direction of Rabindra Dharmaraj. It turned out to be his first and last directorial venture.

The core cast of the drama included Naseeruddin Shah, Smita Patil and Kulbhushan Kharbanda, along with others.

Backed by Pradeep Uppoor, the camerawork for 'Chakra' was perfomed by Barun Mukherjee. The technical team of the movie further had Bhanudas as the head of the editing department.

During a throwback media interaction, Chiranjeevi shared that he had seen Juhi in the movie 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak', in which she was seen as a bubbly young girl and hence was not sure if Juhi would be entirely suitable for her role as Shanti in 'Pratibandh'.

However, as he saw her photograph in the look, they decided to give her a chance. Chiranjeevi shared that Juhi had an innocent face required for the part.

Talking about his experience working with Juhi in the movie, Chiranjeevi said, "I had seen 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak', where she is a teenage girl and a very bubbly character. So, we had doubts whether she would be apt for this character or not. Once we happened to see her photograph which is similar to our getup. Then we thought it would be nice, 'Definitely, why can't we cast'. And she had a similar sympathetic face, so we tried Juhi. She was so nice, and she accepted."

Chiranjeevi even went on to applaud Juhi's performance in the movie, saying that she did a great job. Mentioning one scene in particular, the 'Megastar' shared, "And I think we are very much happy with her performance, especially the court scene. That jail scene, near the jail, when I am trying to convince her. And she did very well."

Made under the direction of Ravi Raja Pinisetty, 'Pratibandh' also featured Rami Reddy in a crucial role, along with others. The project also marked the Bollywood debut of Chiranjeevi.

Making an appearance on the popular "The Kapil Sharma Show', Rishi Kapoor revealed that whenever there used to be a romantic song, despite being tuneless, he would sing it in full volume, leaving everyone around him also tuneless.

He recalled a hilarious incident from the shoot of "Barood" when they were shooting a song in Paris, and made all the Parisians wonder why he was walking behind a girl, that too singing so loudly.

Rishi Kapoor shared on the show, "I remember one day I was shooting a song for 'Barood' in Paris. I was following Shoma Anand in the sequence, and there was a sound recordist 25 steps behind me. I was feeling so embarrassed. As the sound and camera started, I used to do the action, and all the Parisians used to look at me, thinking, "What is wrong with this man? The song is playing from behind, and he is singing."

Talking about 'Barood', the film has been made under the direction of Pramod Chakravorty.

While the screenplay of the drama has been provided by Sachin Bhowmick with dialogues by Ahsan Rizvi, the project stars Ashok Kumar, Shoma Anand, Ajit, and Reena Roy in key roles, along with Dharmendra and Hema Malini making guest appearances.

During his glorious tenure as an actor, Rishi Kapoor has been a part of several movies such as "Rafoo Chakkar", "Besharam", "Kabhi Kabhie", "Zinda Dil", "Amar Akbar and Anthony", "Anjane Mein", "Dhan Daulat", "Khel Khel Mein", and "Do Dooni Chaar", to name just a few.

Unfortunately, Rishi Kapoor passed away at 76 on 30th April 2020 after a long battle with leukemia.

For the unversed, Rishi Kapoor's last film, "Sharmaji Namkeen", was left incomplete. Later, actor Paresh Rawal stepped in to finish the remaining portions.

He said, “The first thing I hosted, this was back when I would do anything for money, I was asked to host the Australian New Year's Eve fireworks special. I was like, great $3,000 I'm in. So I went and I hosted it. It's this act, Kylie Minogue singing doing all this stuff. And of course the centerpiece of New Year's Eve is the fireworks show”.

He further mentioned, “And they said, ‘Now this is the most difficult. You've got 45 minutes and you have to commentate on the fireworks’. And I was like, I said, ‘I know nothing about fireworks’. And they said, ‘Don't worry. There's four pages of notes here. You know, there's 120,000 tons of fireworks. There's five barges, you'll be fine. Just go for it’. So finally we go through the show and all of a sudden Kylie puts the detonator”.

“The fireworks start and the producer says, ‘And go’. And I look over at the guy. And by the way, the entire crew is drunk. Everyone's drunk. That's New Year's Eve, they're not missing out on the fun. He's got the notes and he has lighter. And he lit it up, burning the papers”, he added.

He told IANS, “I think food Food is really something that puts people together. I also believe that art and music do the same. It is very difficult to arrange 10,000 people just like that in a place but if you say there's A. R. Rahman sir performing, you see people will run to the show”.

“So I think music is something which I really put on the top category in terms of art which can bring a lot of people together. I say it because it makes you feel united. I also really strongly believe that together we achieve more. So that's what music does and that's the purpose of art, to keep people happy”, he added.

Earlier, the actor had shared that at first he is quite shy in his social interactions but once he crosses the threshold of comfort, there’s no extrovert that can match his energy.

He told IANS, “I would describe myself first as an introvert. But if I'm comfortable, I don't think there's any extrovert who can match up to my energy. I think I've always been a shy person at first. But when I feel like opening up then I'm myself, you will see my goofy side. I also quite careful of my interactions because I don't know if someone else will call my fun as overstepping. So I just keep my ground till I feel comfortable with them”.

The audience tells me what they were thinking and if I am right”.

He further mentioned, “In ‘The Traitors’, I knew it's a different game but there was no way for me to get that instant feedback to know if I am doing it right or if I am doing it wrong because if I did something and I didn't hear the applause the artiste in me was extremely confused. I kept on thinking if I did that right or if it was a wrong move”.

His fellow contestant on the show, Munawar Faruqui chimed in, as he said, “Karan wanted Karan Johar to enter the set at the same moment, and laud him for his game” sending the panel into a fit of laughter.

The composer spoke with IANS after the film’s release in the BKC area of Mumbai after the film’s release.

He told IANS, “Whatever comes from my heart naturally that's the song that I write. I never take anyone else's opinion on that unless a producer or a director tells me to change that. But I am glad that it could touch people. It's a mix of Hindi and Punjabi. But there are Punjabi words as well. It was just about heroism and a superstar”.

He further mentioned that his “whole idea was that if Emraan Hashmi enters in front of me right now. What will I feel?”

He shared, “I thought of myself as a fan while composing the song. I had to go 15 years back in time when I was not a musician. And I used to see Emraan Hashmi’s films. So whatever he has done to those millions of fans, I wanted to write that emotion. My Punjabi comes naturally. And it suits my style, and that's how I presented the song”.

“I am glad that the makers didn't change a single word. I went with my gut feeling. I kept the scale of the song in such a way that I wanted to use my lows, the bass. It's a blessing of God that my bass is good. I wanted to sing it in a different way. The essence of the song is very intimate. Very hauntingly. It holds you. It ties you. I wanted to keep that. I wanted to present my voice”, he added.

The series is inspired by true events and is set against the backdrop of India’s freedom struggle. It stars Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta, Gurfateh Pirzada and Jason Shah.

The show tells the story of Indian freedom fighters who believed that armed resistance was not just vital but indispensable to ending the British Raj. It was because of the sustained efforts of the aforementioned revolutionaries that the British empire had to shift its capital to Delhi from Kolkata.

Asim Riaz has now issued a formal Cease-and-Desist Legal Notice to social media influencer Bhavya Singh, who is known for ‘MTV Splitsvilla’ season 12, and concerned media outlets.

Bhavya Singh had made certain statements about him, and his behaviour with his ex-girlfriend, actress Himanshi Khurana, during a podcast, which were subsequently circulated across digital and social-media platforms.

The legal notice served by Asim’s legal representative states that Bhavya said during the podcast, "mereko bohot time pehle ye baat sunne ko ayi thi, maine pucha tha kisi se ki Asim aur Himanshi ka breakup kyu hua toh kisi ne bola ki 'bhai wo pagal aadmi hai, maarta peetta tha, bada hi bekar aadmi hai (I heard about this a long time ago. I had asked someone why Asim and Himanshi broke up, and someone said, Bro, he is a crazy guy, he used to hit her, he is a really bad person)”.

The notice further states that Bhavya proceeded to connect the aforesaid alleged information with subsequent events and the alleged existence of a video concerning the actor.

The legal legal counsel on behalf of Asim Riaz said, “Our Client states that the aforesaid publication contains statements made by Noticee No. 1 (Bhavya Singh) which falsely and seriously impute our Client acts of physical violence against Ms. Himanshi Khurana and further impute that our Client is financially dependent upon an unidentified woman and is allegedly ‘living upon’ such woman's money in Dubai”.

Asim has termed the statements false, unverified and damaging to his reputation, public image and professional standing.

Adv. Suhail Shariff, Partner – Falcon Legal, stated, “Our client will not permit any defamatory or legally actionable statements against him. A formal cease-and-desist notice has been issued, and appropriate legal action shall follow in case of non-compliance”.

The recipients have been called upon to comply within 72 hours, failing which appropriate legal proceedings may be initiated before the competent courts and authorities, and it is cautioned that any continued, repeated, or further dissemination may give rise to additional legal consequences.

Through the notice, Bhavya Singh has been called upon to refrain from making or repeating any defamatory or legally actionable statements, while the concerned media outlets have been called upon to remove the disputed podcast and related content.

Speaking exclusively to IANS, she drew a comparison between mainstream Hindi cinema and regional films, saying that while skin show is also common in Hindi cinema, the way they are presented can make a difference. Monalisa said that Hindi cinema also features skin show, but the way such scenes are filmed can make them appear more aesthetic to the audience.

“I think in Hindi cinema, even when there is a lot of skin show, the way it is shot is often very aesthetic. Because of the way it is presented, people may not feel that it looks wrong,” she said.

Talking about regional cinema, particularly Bhojpuri films, Monalisa acknowledged that the industry has sometimes lacked the same kind of aesthetic treatment. “I would say that perhaps regional cinema, particularly Bhojpuri cinema, has lacked that aesthetic treatment at times,” the actress said.

The ‘Nazar’ actress further explained that the same visual can create a different impression depending on how it is filmed and presented. According to Monalisa, elements such as showing the waist or a little skin can be handled differently when they are shot in an aesthetically appealing manner. “If the same thing is shot beautifully and aesthetically, whether you want to show the waist or a little skin, it can look different,” she added.

Monalisa concluded by emphasizing the importance of presentation when it comes to portraying women on screen. “So, I think presentation is also very important,” she said.

Monalisa’s comments come months after the makers of “Peddi” faced criticism over the portrayal of Janhvi Kapoor’s character, Achiyamma, opposite Ram Charan. The film sparked a debate on social media over what several users described as the hypersexualisation and objectification of the female lead. Certain scenes in the film drew attention for repeatedly focusing the camera on Janhvi’s cleavage and waist. Another widely discussed sequence showed Ram Charan’s character kissing her without her consent and later explaining the gesture as his way of expressing love.

Looking back at her experience, Avika said the show has played an important role in shaping her perspective about herself and who she wanted to become. Taking to Instagram, the ‘Balika Vadhu’ actress penned a lengthy note that read, “There's something I've realized about myself while watching Khatron Ke Khiladi after my elimination. I catch myself thinking, If I were there, I wouldn't have given up. I would have pushed harder. I would have done better.”

“Basically, sitting comfortably on my sofa, suddenly I'm an expert Khatron contestant. And then I remind myself: I'm watching from the comfort of my own life. I know the outcome. I know what happens next. I'm not actually in that moment, with the pressure, the fear, the adrenaline, and a stunt staring me in the face.”

Avika added, “It's very easy to become the hero of a situation from the outside. When something matters deeply to us, we replay it, imagine different choices, and create a version of the story that never happened. And sometimes, our imagination gives us a much better performance than reality ever got the chance to. Maybe that's why being eliminated so early has been difficult for me to completely let go of. Somewhere inside me, there's still that girl who believes, I had so much more to give. Maybe I did.”

“But there's a difference between knowing you had more to give and constantly living in the version where you got the chance to give it. Khatron Ke Khiladi has always been deeply personal to me. I was 21 when I first did the show, and it changed my perspective on who I was and who I wanted to become. I went in thinking I was there to face fears and perform stunts, but I came out understanding myself a little differently. Coming back this time meant so much because, perhaps, a part of me wanted to meet that younger version of myself again and maybe finish something that had always felt unfinished. But this time, Khatron is teaching me something very different.”

“I've always believed in working hard, preparing, pushing, and creating the life I want. So accepting something completely outside my control has been uncomfortable and, honestly, heart-wrenching. Sometimes you can give something everything you have and still not get the ending you imagined. Maybe closure isn't about deciding whether you deserved to stay or whether you could have done better. Maybe it's accepting that the story ended differently from the one you had written in your head.”

The note further read, “The first time, Khatron changed my perspective on who I was and what I wanted to become. This time, it is teaching me how to live with what I cannot control. To stop rewriting the ending. To acknowledge that I may have had more to give without allowing that thought to take away from everything I did give.”

“I'm still learning to make peace with that. Maybe that's my Khatron this time. And I'm also filled with so much gratitude for the love, the opportunities, the people and experiences that have brought me here, and for everything that is still to come. I hope, with time, this void becomes something I can heal from, rather than a place where I remain stuck. Maybe I don't need to erase it. Maybe I just need to carry it with gratitude, laugh at myself a little when my brain starts giving me imaginary second chances, and keep moving forward.”

For the unversed, Avika Gor’s journey on ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 15’ came to an end in the second week of the show. She was eliminated after facing social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, in the elimination stunt. While Orry completed the task in 10 minutes, Avika took more than 13 minutes to finish it.

Speaking exclusively to IANS, Rajkumar Santoshi shared that it gave him immense satisfaction as a director, reassuring him that he has done a good job.

For the unversed, the protagonist of 'Dhurandhar', Ranveer, was heard saying, “Ghayal hoon, isiliye Ghatak hoon. (I am hurt, and that is why I am dangerous)”. It is believed that Aditya Dhar included the dialogue as a tribute to the Sunny Deol starrers.

Sunny Deol had also clarified that he received no royalty for the dialogue as it was simply a gesture of respect. He added that such tributes are more about the legacy of the movie and the emotions associated with it and not financial gains.

The filmmaker told IANS, "It gives immense satisfaction as a maker that we have done a good job. Otherwise, when do people remember? But for Ghayal, Ghatak, and Damini, people remember everything. They remember all the dialogues."

Rajkumar Santoshi also went on to congratulate Aditya Dhar and the team of 'Dhurandhar', saying that he wishes that the director comes up with more such movies in the future.

"So, I really congratulate Dhurandhar's success. He should make more progress. He is a very good filmmaker. I want him to succeed in a very big way. In the future also."

When asked if he was aware that 'Dhurandhar' would be a hit, Rajkumar Santoshi said, "Yes, people told me immediately. They used the dialogue in the film. Good, but they used it correctly. They didn't misuse it."

Starring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, and Sara Arjun in key roles, both 'Dhurandhar (2025)' and its sequel 'Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge (2026)' turned out to be a tremendous success at the ticket counters, minting more than ₹3,000 crore worldwide, becoming the first Hindi-language franchise to achieve this milestone.
