Los Angeles, June 24 (SocialNews.XYZ) Singer Elton John has said he does not want to perform at one venue in the US for a period of time, but is not averse to the idea of a residency elsewhere.

The 76-year-old singer won't give up performing completely when his three-year aFarewell Yellow Brick Road' tour comes to an end this summer because he's interested in being based at one venue, but has stated that when the time comes, he won't be in the US.

Female First UK quoted him as telling Radio Times magazine: "I said when I announced the farewell tour that maybe I would do a residency like Kate Bush did at Hammersmith (in 2014). But not in America. I will not do it in America."

He continued: "But that's in the long term. I don't want to think about the stage - I've been on it since I was 17."

John was also concerned about the political climate in the US. He said: "It's all going pear-shaped in America. There's violence, (discriminatory) laws enacted in Florida, which are disgraceful. There's a law now that, if you visit a doctor in Florida, they can refuse to treat you if you're gay, which I find just unbelievable. We seem to be going backwards. And that spreads. It's like a virus that the LGBTQIA+ movement is suffering."

Elton's husband, David Furnish - who is also his manager - previously ruled out the possibility of the 'Candle in the wind' hitmaker taking on another Las Vegas residency, but didn't mention anywhere in the US would be unlikely.

A residency is a series of concerts, similar to a concert tour, but performed at one location.

In the 1970s, the singer-songwriter, born Reginald Dwight, was responsible for an astonishing two per cent of all record sales around the world.

In 2021 he scored his eighth UK No 1 album, with 'The Lockdown Sessions'.

He is set to perform his farewell UK concert at Glastonbury this weekend.

He came out as gay in 1992, and established the Elton John Aids Foundation, raising over $525 million to support HIV-related programmes in 90 countries.

Los Angeles, June 24 (SocialNews.XYZ) Rapper Nicki Minaj's neighbours are said to be trying to get rid of her and her husband from their fancy A-list area, due to historic sex offence charges.

Some of the rapper's neighbours are joining forces to get Nicki and her "convicted felon husband", Kenneth Petty, away from their celebrity-filled neighbourhood, reports 'Mirror.co.uk'.

Nicki's husband, whom she wed in 2019, is currently serving one year in home detention after failing to register as a sex offender in California, with him also sentenced in July 2022 to three years probation.

As per 'Mirror.co.uk', in 1995, when the now-45-year-old was around 17, Kenneth was convicted in New York for the attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl. The rapper's husband was convicted of first-degree rape and served four years in prison.

A Change.org petition has even been created about the Starships singer and her husband, who is also the father to her son, with it garnering more than 1,000 signatures.

The petition was originally started on December 25, with it coming to light after the 40-year-old star was said to have purchased a $19.5m home in Hidden Hills.

Hidden Hills is an affluent city and gated community in the Santa Monica Mountains region of Los Angeles County, California.

The 54-year-old two-time Oscar winning actress appeared in the music video for the band's recent single 'The Girl Is Crying In Her Latte', reports Mirror.co.uk. Sparks are a pop/rock band from Los Angeles formed by brothers Ron and Russell Mael, who perform keyboard and lead vocals, respectively.

Speaking to the crowds ahead of their performance, Russell shared his delight at being able to welcome 'Lord of the Rings' icon Cate to join them.

He gushed: "Hopefully as many of you know we have a brand new album, it just came out a couple of weeks ago. We have a super special treat tonight. We did a video for this song recently and we had the great honour of having the great actor Cate Blanchett join us - where are you Cate Blanchett?"

Cate herself then emerged on to the stage to dance along as the lads performed - sending the crowd into a frenzy.

Ron and Russell have previously explained how they came to befriend Cate, who they bonded with during the 2023 awards season as she promoted her music themed film, 'Tar'.

The brothers said: "We met Cate Blanchett in Paris at the Cesar Awards last year, little knowing that a year later one of the great actors of our time - and a splendid person - would graciously consent to lending her booty-shaking skills to the first video from our new album."

Cate is not the only surprise performer to take to the stage at Glastonbury this weekend as a string of other high-profile attendees appeared at Worthy Farm.

Opening up to Vogue magazine, she said: "Dude, I don't even know. It's tough, man. Honestly, nobody can say anything about my body that I don't have a stronger opinion about. I also think that if I was younger, like if the internet talked about me the way they do now when I was like 11, I don't think I would be able to exist, to be honest."

She added: "I like myself more than I used to, and I'm more interested in how I feel than how they feel. But then also that might be a load of bulls**t because it still hurts my feelings like a son of a b***h."

As per Mirror.co.uk, she went on to explain that she tries to find a balance away from the toxic comments by spending time with her friends and walking her dogs. Billie previously explained that removing social media apps from her phone had also helped her navigate the abuse that is directed towards her online.

She previously said on the 'Conan O'Brien Needs A Friend' podcast: "I don't look at it anymore. I deleted it all off my phone, which is such a huge deal for me. Cause dude, you didn't have the internet to grow up with. Vishal Bhardwaj who directed, wrote the script had also written the music for the film. Taking to Instagram, he captioned: "Such an honour to win the Cannes Lions - Bronze for my music in #fusrat."

The short film was shot on iPhone 14 PRO.

Expressing his delight at receiving the award, Vishal Bhardwaj said in a statement: "Receiving a Cannes Lion bronze is prestigious and getting it for my music makes it more heartfelt. A big thanks to the jury and to Apple for their collaboration."

While initially it was decided that a local would do the French bits, Sartaaj decided to take the challenge himself of mixing the two massively different languages, putting in a lot of prep work, with the artist learning the dialect, accent, pronunciation and other nuances of the language to make it a much more authentic and complete experience.

Talking about his experience, Satinder Sartaaj said: "It was such a new world for me, mainly when you read French you would never be able to pronounce the words as the French people do. After a few attempts I thought, if I am speaking it correctly, why not put my composing and singing ability into it. That's how it happened."

He jokingly added: "I am hoping that people will shower love and appreciation with this attempt and who knows I may just get concert invitations from French people."

When asked what is difficult for her, singing or acting, she answered, "I think no job is easy and no job is difficult if you do it with your heart. I am very passionate about acting because I have been doing it since childhood. I am used to acting. If I had to compare between acting and singing, obviously acting would be my preference. I still get nervous while singing a song. I record the scratch first and then go to the studio to record the final song".

Talking about her song, she said, "'Kayfa Haluka' means 'How are You?', in Arabic. It's an altogether new try from us. It is a different song from what we all have been hearing these days. We have tried to make it a pop song with live instruments. There is Arabic music in it as well. The song is very catchy. If you listen to it once or twice, you will be humming it the whole day".

'Kayfa Haluka' is sung by Jannat Zubair. Vibhas has given the lyrics and music of the song and Jannat's father Zubair Rahmani has produced the project.

The American rock band - fronted by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl - are reportedly taking to the Pyramid stage at 6.10 p.m. on Friday evening.

The slot is currently being held by a mysterious act called 'The Churnups', which was previously believed to have referred to band Pulp.

As per 'Mirror.co.uk', it comes a year after Dave Grohl took to the Pyramid stage for a surprise appearance during Paul McCartney's headline set.

Legendary artist David Hockney is also believed to have done the graphics for the band's performance, as they perform some of their greatest hits at the Worthy Farm music festival to hundreds of thousands of festival goers.

Now, the Daily Mail claims the group are set to make an emotional performance at the gig after the death of their drummer, Taylor Hawkins.

Fifty-year-old Hawkins was found dead last year in his luxury hotel room from a 'cardiovascular collapse' believed to be induced by a drug binge whilst the band was on tour in Columbia.

CCTV visuals are being seen, the police added.

According to police, the family had lodged a missing person complaint, and on investigation, it was found that the rapper was kidnapped by a ten-member gang on Wednesday night.

According to a senior police officer from Police headquarters, in Chennai, Dev Anand's brother had taken a loan of Rs 2.5 crore from a person and had not given the money back. There were some disputes regarding the same and police are probing whether this has anything to do with the kidnapping of Dev Anand.

Mumbai, June 22 (SocialNews.XYZ) The band 'Shakti', formed by the British guitarist John McLaughlin and master Indian percussionist, Zakir Hussain, is coming up with a new studio album after more than 45 years.

Titled 'This Moment', the album offers a set of eight new compositions and performances with McLaughlin on guitar and guitar synth and Hussain on tabla joined by vocalist Shankar Mahadevan, percussionist V. Selvaganesh and violinist Ganesh Rajagopalan.

Talking about the album, Padma Vibhushan Zakir Hussain said in a statement, "The discovery each time you sit as a group, to play and perform, is like climbing Everest from different angles. Every time it is a whole different point of view, marvelling at how you do the same but it's not the same. Having that kind of interaction, conversation between the group, the creative idea process is something that is Shakti and it is exclusive to Shakti."

The album will be released on CD and vinyl LP on June 23. India will also be the first to stream the album on Spotify India. The album also features a tribute to 'Mandolin' U. Shrinivas, a former band member of Shakti.

Talking about the album, John McLaughlin said, "'This Moment', the new 'studio' album is a true labour of love. The music on this recording represents a quantum leap in the musical evolution of Shakti. It represents 50 years of working and playing together beginning in 1973."

He added, "The numerous concerts we have played, the number of times we have been together working on our musical development, have brought us to the point where it has all been brought together here and now in the 21st Century. This album is a crystallisation of five decades of love and dedication. Our musical evolution recorded here, is really a revolution in the history of Shakti."

The compositions in the album highlight different vocal and instrumental sub-groups within Shakti as they transition between taut thematic statements and, quite naturally feature solos from McLaughlin and Rajagopalan, with rhythmic shifts, rounded up by deft vocal passages by Mahadevan.

Seoul, June 21 (SocialNews.XYZ) Korean singer Choi Sung Bong is reported to have died by suicide and was found in the Yeoksam-dong district of Seoul at 9.41 a.m. on Tuesday morning (local time). He was 33 years old.

His death comes just two years after his lie about having multiple types of cancer was exposed when he had asked several fans to donate cash for his treatment. He later apologised for the deception and promised to return all of the donations.

According to Daily Mail, Police believe that he died by suicide due to a note he posted on his YouTube channel the day before his death in which he apologised for his "foolish mistakes". In it, he thanked his fans for their support to his career, as he wrote: "From 2011 to the present, I have been receiving attention and love from so many people. I sincerely thank you and express my gratitude."

He went on to apologise for the 2021 scam: "I am sincerely sorry for my foolish mistakes and those who have suffered damage, and I have repeatedly made mistakes. For the past two years, we have returned all those who have asked for a return of donations."

The South Korean singer who shot to fame in 'Korea's Got Talent', which was broadcast by tvN got particular praise for his operatic rendition of Ennio Morricone's 'Nella Fantasia', which impressed the judges and made him advance all the way to the finals, eventually coming in second place by just 280 votes.

The YouTube clip of his performance on the show went viral and was viewed over 21 million times. K-pop stars such as BoA and Jung-Hwa Um were also wowed by it, and promoted it on social media.

Choi was even praised by Justin Bieber in his Facebook page, with the pop star writing: "This is awesome. Never say never, and good luck to this kid. Great story."

After his stint on the talent show, he released a number of singles, including 'Slowcoach' in 2016, 'Tonight' in 2021 and 'I PRAY' in 2022.

Mumbai, June 21 (SocialNews.XYZ) Singer-songwriter Rashmeet Kaur, who impressed audience with her rendition of 'Bajre Da Sitta', has released a new song titled 'Dil Khanjar' which hit the airwaves on Wednesday on the occasion of World Music Day.

What sets the song apart is the fact that it draws inspiration from the nostalgic vibe of 1990's music and Sonu Nigam's songs. The 1990's remain a memorable era in Indian mainstream music as the landscape for non-film music radically changed with the introduction of the private television channels in the mid-1990s. This was the time when indie pop was in all its glory.

Rashmeet's song attempts to teleport the audience to an era gone by.

Talking about how the song came into existence, Rashmeet told IANS: "The inception of 'Dil Khanjar' stemmed from my good friend Danish Renzu, who conceptualised and directed the music video. He shared with me the incredible lyrics penned by Sunayana Kachroo from Boston. These captivating lyrics became the foundation of the song. I vividly remember the genesis of our creative journey."

She continued: "It was during a cab ride in Mumbai after one of our meetings. Danish, and I were together, and we started jamming to 'Dil Khanjar'. It sounded great, so I quickly recorded the composition on my phone's voice recorder. Once I got home, I continued working on it, refining the melodies and arrangements. Saurabh, the talented music producer of the song, joined me in shaping it further. And that's how aDil Khanjar' came to life."

The song incorporates several elements with regard to the sound and texture. If the audience experiences a vibe similar to A. R. Rahman's 'Satrangi Re' from the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Dil Se..' then they're absolutely right as it was a conscious choice on the part of makers.

Rashmeet said that the song also finds inspiration in the "riff-oriented compositions like 'Tu Hi Tu, Tu Hi Tu Satrangi Re'.

She said: "The intention was to create a commercially appealing and melodically rich track with a foundation rooted in traditional raag-based melodies. Regarding the sound production, our aim was to craft a catchy and addictive tune that would linger in the listener's mind. We achieved this by employing repetitive and looping musical elements, ensuring that the base melody remains consistent and memorable. The central hook, 'Dil Khanjar Khanjar' formed the core of the composition and served as a starting point for building the rest of the song around it."

She further mentioned: "In terms of texture, there are sections in the first verse where we wanted to incorporate animalistic sounds. To achieve this, I utilised a lip roll technique to generate a vocalisation that resembled animalistic noises. This raw recording was subsequently processed and crafted to blend seamlessly as an integral element within the song."

When asked what is that one thing about music that she feels has been lost out in this age of the Internet and artificial intelligence, the singer told IANS: "One crucial element that seems to have diminished is the commitment and extensive practice that individuals used to embrace in the past. Nowadays, there appears to be a lack of belief in the value of practice, as people tend to merely follow fleeting trends without investing genuine effort. The notion of practice, in its true essence, refers to diligently engaging with one's art or craft on a daily basis, constantly striving to improve both as an individual and as an artiste."

"It seems that fewer individuals are dedicating themselves to continuous learning, instead seeking immediate gratification and rapid outcomes. I feel like very few people who constantly and consistently work on their art and craft and themselves," she added.

She also spoke about mainstream music not being able to look beyond the low-hanging fruits of remixes.

She shared: "It's hard to say why mainstream music seems stuck. Maybe people aren't really exploring new music and artists. But then again, there are so many talented independent artists out there making great music. When it comes to mainstream Bollywood music, it often feels like it's the same old stuff being recycled. What we really need is to bring in fresh concepts like the revived version of 'Coke Studio' even though it's not novel, like 'Coke Studio Bharat'."

"We should be experimenting with different genres, languages, and folk music. It's important to have platforms and people who support folk music, original compositions, and meaningful music that goes beyond just following trends. We need more individuals who are willing to invest in new and experimental music instead of investing in funding the same old sounds," she concluded.

'Dil Khanjar', released under TM Music, is available to stream across major audio streaming platforms.

He further mentioned, "I came to know about my voice being used in the film some three-four days back. As it was a scratch version and required for tightening of the screws, I redubbed for the song in order to fine tune it as per the lock edit".

The success of the film spawned a whole series of films through the 1980s ending in 1990 with Rocky V. Stallone would play the character again in the 2006 film Rocky Balboa, the sixth installment in the franchise.

In 2015, Stallone reprised his role of Rocky Balboa in the film spin-off Creedthat starred Michael B. Jordan. Ryan Coogler directed the film and co-wrote it with Aaron Covington. Stallone returned for Creed II in 2018 and co-wrote the script with Juel Taylor.

Stallone is very protective of Rocky and the characters and when it was reported that a spinoff movie centered on Drago, the actor slammed original producer Irwin Winkler.
