Raebareli, Nov 19 (SocialNews.XYZ) A poster war has erupted in Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi’s parliamentary constituency after a Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader on Wednesday put up posters thanking the Congress MP for the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) victory in Bihar.

The posters sarcastically praise the LoP stating: “For the formation of the NDA government in Bihar, heartfelt thanks for Rahul Gandhi’s priceless contribution. His incredible strategy, prudence, and miraculous foresight made this possible. We should receive such motivational support every day.”

The NDA had recently secured a sweeping win in the Bihar Assembly elections, capturing over 200 of the 243 seats. Within the alliance, the BJP won 89 seats and the Janata Dal (United) secured 85. An interactive feature shows the detailed results of the 2025 Bihar elections, with options to view data through maps and charts. Results from the 2015 and 2020 Assembly elections are also included for comparison.

The NDA’s total vote share stood at 46.7 per cent, while the Opposition alliance registered 37.5 per cent.

The Congress has faced a major defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections, managing to win only six seats. A key highlight of the RJD–INC campaign was party LoP Gandhi’s 'Vote Chori' pitch. His extensive travel across the state was intended to influence 116 Assembly seats.

The aggressive campaign of the INDIA Bloc, known as the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar, centered around the Congress MP's ‘vote chori’ allegations. Yet, the pitch appears to have fallen flat with voters, as trends indicated a record NDA victory in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.

For the Congress, the trends are particularly sobering. The party not only underperformed in the seats it contested but also failed to contribute meaningfully to the alliance tally.

Despite repeatedly raising allegations such as 'voter chori' against the Centre and the Election Commission, and campaigning around the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) drive and the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra', the Congress struggled to gain traction on the ground.

In the last press conference on ‘Vote Chori’ on November 6, Rahul Gandhi claimed to show evidence of a Brazilian model appearing on the Haryana voter list 22 times under different names, including Seema and Sweety.

LoP Gandhi’s 'vote chori' pitch, along with the Congress’ high-energy social media campaign expected to energise cadres and consolidate anti-incumbency, did not create the momentum the party had hoped for.

Promising a 'hydrogen bomb' of evidence but never fully delivering it, Rahul Gandhi held three press conferences where he presented alleged proofs of how the ECI was enabling vote theft, mass deletion of votes, and data manipulation.

On November 6, LoP Gandhi again repeated his “vote chori” allegation while appealing to what he called “Gen Z brothers and sisters” to decide Bihar’s future. But this strategy also failed to resonate with voters.

In the 2020 elections, Congress secured 27 seats out of 70, with a conversion rate of 38 per cent. This time, however, its performance has dropped even further.

Congress once a dominant force in Bihar’s political landscape, has gradually lost its hold over the state. In 2025, it contested as a junior partner in the alliance with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). The 2025 Bihar election results mark one of the party’s weakest showings.

Congress was once among the top three political parties in Bihar, especially before the state’s bifurcation in 2000. In the 1985 elections, Congress won a clear majority with 196 seats, leading to Chandrashekhar Singh becoming Chief Minister.

In the 1990 elections, Congress emerged as the second-largest party with 71 seats, considered its last strong performance. The party’s final phase of prominent leadership came under Jagannath Mishra, who served as Chief Minister in 1990.

However, the party’s influence declined rapidly thereafter. In the 1995 elections, its tally fell sharply to 29 seats, marking the beginning of a long-term slide.

In 2000, Bihar was bifurcated to create the new state of Jharkhand. This dramatically reshaped Bihar’s political landscape, enabling the rise of regional parties such as the Janata Dal (United) and the RJD. In the 2000 Assembly elections, held before bifurcation, Congress finished fourth with 23 seats.

New Delhi, Nov 17 (SocialNews.XYZ) Purnea MP Pappu Yadav on Monday issued a strong reaction to the Bihar Assembly election results, urging a complete internal overhaul within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the wider Mahagathbandhan and also remarked that "it was a defeat of the poor".

Speaking to IANS, while delivering his strongest public message since the defeat, Yadav said, “It is not just me, the workers of Bihar, the RJD family, everyone wants unity within the family. And Tejashwi, I request you… This defeat is the defeat of Bihar’s poor people. I cannot accuse you of being responsible; I know this defeat did not happen because of you. It happened because of conspirators.”

He continued, warning that betrayal from within has damaged the party more than external opponents. “But somewhere, we too are at fault -- whether those responsible are in the Mahagathbandhan, in Congress, or within the RJD, where people like ‘Jaichand’ and ‘Man Singh’ exist. The entire Bihar wants that people who are Jaichands and Man Singhs should be removed. Such people must not be spared…”

By invoking “Jaichand” and “Man Singh,” historical symbols of treachery, he signalled that the real damage may have come from saboteurs inside the party structure.

The 2025 Bihar Assembly elections delivered a sweeping mandate in favour of the NDA, which secured a commanding majority.

The RJD-led Mahagathbandhan, including Congress, faced one of its worst performances, managing only 35 seats, with the RJD winning 25 and Congress six. The NDA, led by JD(U) and BJP, crossed 200 seats and will form the next government with a comfortable margin.

For the INDIA bloc, the results represent a significant setback. The RJD, which once held the position of Bihar’s single-largest party, now confronts internal discord and demands for structural reform.

Meanwhile, RJD's supremo Lalu Yadav's daughter, Rohini Acharya’s made some serious revelations. Her public outcry began over the weekend when she posted disturbing allegations on X, claiming she was humiliated, verbally abused, and “torn away” from her family home.

She wrote that a slipper was raised to hit her and accused members close to Tejashwi Yadav, particularly Sanjay Yadav and Rameez, of pressuring her to quit politics.

Earlier, she posted, “I’m quitting politics and I’m disowning my family… This is what Sanjay Yadav and Rameez had asked me to do… and I’m taking all the blame.”

Patna, Nov 17 (SocialNews.XYZ) Mukesh Sahani, chief of the Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP), on Monday said that the entire Mahagathbandhan must accept responsibility for its heavy defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections, adding that it is unfair to single out any one individual for the loss.

His comments came amid the controversy triggered by allegations from Rohini Acharya, daughter of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, who claimed her brother Tejashwi Yadav blamed her for the alliance's poor performance, prompting her decision to quit politics and "disown" her family.

Speaking to reporters, Sahani said, "It is a family matter, and we do not know the full details. Often, when there is a defeat, the blame is put on one person, but I don't think that is right. Everyone should take responsibility for the loss; all leaders of the alliance should do so."

He also responded to remarks by former Congress Bihar chief Akhilesh Prasad Singh, who had stated that RJD MP Sanjay Yadav and Congress leader Krishna Alavaru "will have to explain the reasons behind the poor performance of the alliance".

"His concern has become that he is not part of that system anymore. That is why he is making these allegations against others, which are not true. If anyone makes allegations, they should first examine themselves. Mistakes are everyone's, defeats are everyone's, and if there is a victory, it is everyone's victory, including the people's. One person is not to blame," the VIP chief said.

Commenting on the NDA's sweeping win, he said that it was only because Rs 10,000 were transferred to the accounts of the women, just days ahead of the polls.

"In elections, there are only two outcomes: victory or defeat. Naturally, the Mahagathbandhan did not get the success it should have, while the NDA did. We congratulate the NDA and its top leadership," he said.

"But they have not received a genuine mandate; they have received a mandate driven by money, which is dangerous for democracy. In Rs 10,000, one can form a government in Bihar. This is very unfortunate. Earlier, the powerful people used to give money to voters to win the elections, which was illegal, but now the same thing is being done by finding a loophole and making it legal. Because of this, the women's votes went to NDA, and that is why they won," added Sahani, whose party failed to open an account in the Assembly elections.

Patna, Nov 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) In the run-up to the Bihar Assembly elections, an image that created waves and grabbed the spotlight was Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) Chief Mukesh Sahani going fishing in a water reservoir, along with local fishermen.

Rahul Gandhi along with Mukesh Sahani took to a nearby pond after addressing a public rally in Begusarai and the image of their plunge in the chest-deep waters made a splash in local as well as national media, prompting poll analysts to believe that their camaraderie and friendly interaction with the local fishermen will have a bearing in the electoral outcome.

However, this is not how it turned out to be.

Mahagathbandhan's drubbing in the elections saw Begusarai voting for the NDA, with the latter sweeping five of total seven seats in the district.

Many locals speaking to media after the poll results that 'jungle raj' weighed heavily on their minds and therefore was the crucial factor in choosing their party and leader.

"Voting for Congress/VIP would mean voting for the jungle raj of RJD era," they opined while sharing a common opinion.

Contrary to popular belief that Sahani community will vote for the Mahagathbandhan, many locals said that the Congress will have to come out of RJD's shadows if they want to fare better.

A couple of locals from Shankh village in Begusarai spoke to IANS about the reason for the Grand Alliance's defeat.

"Whether it was Mukesh Sahani or Congress's Rahul Gandhi, they allied with people who were rejected by the public. This is why many locals did not support Mukesh Sahani or Rahul Gandhi," a local said.

Another person said this was nothing more than a political stunt.

"Rahul Gandhi came and jumped into the pond, but the fish he caught were dead fish, not ones that could be sold in the market. To win the votes of the Sahani community, Congress will have to break ties with the RJD, as people have not forgotten the effects of 'Jungle Raj'. Its effects are still remembered," he added.

He also said that Congress will have to contest the elections independently to win the polls because as long as they remain in alliance with the RJD, the Sahani community will not accept them.

"Only by constantly meeting with the people will you get their votes. Nothing will be achieved by coming just for one day," another resident said.

New Delhi, Nov 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) Former Congress leader Shakeel Ahmad, who resigned from the party earlier this week, has raised sharp questions over both the Opposition’s performance in the recent Bihar Assembly elections, including seats distribution to ineligible candidates, claims on 6.5-million voters' deletion which according to him lacked ground-level evidence, among other issues.

Speaking to IANS on November 16, Ahmad said the claims that 6.5 million voters were deleted from electoral rolls lack ground-level evidence.

"If such a massive deletion had happened, even a small fraction of affected voters should have protested. At least 65 people should have come forward, even 5,000 should have objected. But nothing like that was seen in Bihar," he said, adding that no major political party -- including the Left, RJD or Congress -- mobilised public protests over the issue.

"If votes of innocent people were really deleted, political parties should have taken to the streets. Nothing of that sort happened," Ahmad remarked.

Commenting on the Bihar election results, the former Congress leader admitted that the Opposition alliance’s performance was "unexpected and shocking".

Clarifying that he no longer represents the Congress, Ahmad said, "As an independent citizen, I can say the result surprised us too. Nobody expected such a poor performance by our alliance."

Reflecting on historical voting patterns, the former Congress leader said that Bihar has followed a fixed "section-wise" division since 1995.

"Back then, even when we were not with Lalu Yadav, 85 per cent of certain sections were with him. Over the years, these sections kept dividing, leaving only two sections with our alliance," he added.

He also said that the Opposition’s gains in 2020 Bihar Assembly poll were largely due to Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas President Chirag Paswan fielding candidates against Janata Dal-United led Nitish Kumar, weakening the NDA.

He also echoed senior Congress leader Tariq Anwar's criticism of seat-sharing distribution within the Opposition alliance, questioning why candidates who lost by large margins in 2020 were given tickets again.

"There should be an open-criteria. Those who lost by over 100 votes in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections were denied tickets, but those who lost by 63,000 votes were fielded. What is the logic?" he asked.

On reports that Vikassheel Insaan Party Chief Mukesh Sahani was offered the Deputy CM's post despite representing only 2–2.5 per cent population while Muslims -- 18 per cent of Bihar's population -- were overlooked, Ahmed said the move created a "bad perception".

According to Ahmad, the message conveyed was that Muslim votes were taken for granted.

He also expressed unease over tickets given to individuals with a BJP-RSS background, saying that had the Opposition alliance won, such candidates might have "returned to the BJP camp".

The former Congress leader’s critique has intensified internal questions within the Opposition Bloc as parties assess the causes of their electoral setback.

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) Stepping up his attack on Kerala's ruling CPI-M, state Congress chief Sunny Joseph on Saturday accused the Marxist leadership of displaying a "mindset that celebrates the BJP’s victory in Bihar", and of targeting Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal to divert attention from its own failures in the election.

Joseph said the Congress had done everything possible to bolster the INDIA alliance’s prospects in Bihar.

In contrast, he argued, the CPI-M's top leaders -- including Politburo member and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan -- kept away from campaigning in the key state.

"We did not see the Chief Minister or any major CPI-M leader actively campaigning. Even in constituencies where CPI-M fielded its own candidates, Kerala’s leadership stayed home. They have no moral right to criticise," he said.

Joseph also criticised CPI-M state Secretary M.V. Govindan for singling out Venugopal’s visit to his constituency, Alappuzha, during the hectic Bihar poll schedule.

"Venugopal is both an MP and a responsible national leader of the INDIA bloc. He fulfilled his duties. To portray this as a crime only exposes the CPI-M's political insecurity," he said.

The state Congress chief alleged that the Marxist party, which has often been accused of striking "tacit understandings" with the BJP, was now unable to tolerate Venugopal’s influence in Kerala politics.

"CPI-M's political myopia prevents them from recognising their own compromises with the BJP. Venugopal’s presence in Kerala clearly unsettles them," he said.

Joseph further accused the CPI-M of ignoring issues such as the BJP’s alleged manipulation of opposition votes and the impact of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process on the electoral roll.

"Instead of probing these matters, their priority is to attack Congress. Today’s CPI-M has no standing to even utter the word secularism," he said, alleging that the party has aligned with communal forces "both covertly and overtly".

Joseph’s comments come amid heightened political sparring between the Congress-led UDF and the CPI-M-led LDF following the Bihar election results.

Thiruvananthapuram Nov 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) Reeling from its crushing defeat in Bihar, the Congress appears to have found a strategic reset in Kerala with a renewed realisation within the state leadership that the party can no longer afford factional warfare if it hopes to return to power after two consecutive Assembly poll defeats.

Senior leaders in the state, sources say, now agree that unless internal differences are buried once and for all, the Congress risks remaining in the Opposition for a third straight term.

Factional divisions have long defined the party’s organisational culture in Kerala — first during the era of K. Karunakaran and A.K. Antony, later through the Oommen Chandy-Ramesh Chennithala camps, and now through the split between Leader of the Opposition V. D. Satheesan’s group and the rival bloc led by former state unit chief K. Sudhakaran.

Hovering over both camps is a powerful third axis, of Congress General Secretary, Organisation, K.C. Venugopal, whose influence in the state unit is widely acknowledged.

The 2021 Assembly election was a turning point, when Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan scripted history by leading the LDF to a second consecutive mandate.

Since then, the Left has aggressively built a narrative that Vijayan is poised for a third term as well — a claim Congress leaders privately admit cannot be countered unless the party presents a united front.

The Bihar drubbing, however, has shifted the equations.

As Congress’s national organisational secretary, Venugopal is perceived to have suffered the sharpest political setback.

A political observer told IANS that Venugopal, until now seen as the most powerful figure shaping the Kerala unit, will face intensified scrutiny.

"Had the Congress done well, his clout would have grown further. For months, the message within the party was clear: if you are not aligned with Venugopal, things will be difficult. But the Bihar defeat changes the mood," the observer said.

With the two-phase local body polls underway and the assembly elections scheduled for April–May, leaders now view the Bihar verdict as a wake-up call.

Many believe the setback could become a "blessing in disguise" for the Kerala unit, forcing warring factions to introspect, recalibrate, and finally move toward cohesion at a defining political moment for the party.

Patna, Nov 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), in its first official reaction to the poll drubbing in the Bihar Assembly polls, on Saturday, said it is a party of the poor and will continue to raise their voices.

From the party's official X handle, the RJD wrote, "Public service is a continuous process, an endless journey. Ups and downs are inevitable. No sorrow in defeat, no arrogance in victory. The Rashtriya Janata Dal is the party of the poor and will continue to raise their voice."

Addressing the media, Grand Alliance constituent Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani said he accepts and respects the public mandate.

He congratulated the NDA on its victory.

Sahani said the outcome was unexpected, adding that the situation on the ground had appeared different.

He said the results would be reviewed and that the party would return to the people with renewed strength.

Sahni further stated that the mandate showed clear support for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Referring to the government's Rs 10,000 assistance to women, he said it played a role in shaping voter sentiment.

Sahani expressed hope that the NDA would fulfil the promises made during the campaign.

At present, there is disappointment in the RJD camp after the crushing defeat.

The BJP won 89 seats, the JD(U) 85, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) 19, the HAM (S) five, and the Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (four).

The RJD was decimated to 25 seats. Congress won six seats, AIMIM (five), CPI(ML)(L) (two), BSP, Indian Inclusive Party and CPI(M) (one each).

On the NDA's victory and the LJP(RV)'s performance in the Bihar elections, Union Minister and party chief Chirag Paswan's mother Reena Paswan said, "We are very happy with the NDA's victory and it was bound to happen... Every candidate and Chirag worked very hard for this... My blessings are always with my son."

In a Facebook post, the Congress questioned why Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar mentioned the total number of voters in Bihar as 74.2 million in an October 6 press note, while the Commission’s press release issued after voting pegged the number at 74.5 million.

The party alleged a lack of transparency and sought an explanation for the sudden increase.

Responding to the allegation, the ECI said the figure of 74.2 million voters cited on October 6 reflected the data available after the final publication of the electoral roll on September 30.

This number was based on a special, in-depth revision carried out before the election schedule was announced.

The Commission underlined that the September 30th electoral roll is always treated as the baseline before an election.

However, under election rules, the Commission continued, any eligible citizen can apply for enrollment until 10 days before the last date of filing nominations for each election phase.

This window remains open even after the election is announced, allowing new voters to submit claims for inclusion.

Officials said that between October 1 and the cutoff period -- 10 days before nomination deadlines for both phases -- the ECI received a large number of valid applications.

After scrutiny, the names of all eligible voters were added to ensure that no qualified citizen is denied the right to vote.

Following the inclusion of these applications, the total number of voters increased by around 300,000, raising the final count to approximately 74.5 million.

This updated figure, the ECI emphasised, was correctly mentioned in its press release issued after the completion of voting.

The Commission maintained that the variation was procedural, lawful, and consistent with established electoral norms.

New Delhi, Nov 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) Hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi for NDA's big win in Bihar, the BJP on Saturday targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi by describing the result as the state youth's rejection of underage mascots wearing T-shirts in winter, doing push-ups in rain and "leaping into fishing ponds".

BJP leader Amit Malviya, in stinging criticism of Gandhi without naming him, said on X, "In this election, the youth have delivered a verdict that transcends theatrics. They have chosen performance over pretence, substance over stunts, leadership over gimmickry."

"They are not swayed by underage mascots whose so-called achievements revolve around jiving on bridges, posing on bikes, wearing T-shirts in winter, winking for the cameras, blowing flying kisses, flaunting abs, doing push-ups in the rain, or leaping into fishing ponds for dramatic photo-ops," he said.

Pointing to the young age profile of a majority of the state's residents, Malviya said the NDA's win in the Bihar elections is the "voice of a young, ambitious India".

"These young Indians place their trust in the vision and delivery of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he said.

Malviya, in charge of the BJP's National Information and Technology Cell, said in a post on X, "Bihar has spoken - loudly, clearly, and without ambiguity."

He said, "The victory in Bihar is not just emphatic, it is deeply significant, emerging as it does from one of India’s youngest states. Nearly forty per cent of Bihar's 128 million people are below the age of eighteen, and another twenty-three per cent fall between eighteen and twenty-nine. This is the voice of a young, ambitious India - clear, confident, and unhesitating in its choice of leadership."

"Bihar has spoken - loudly, clearly, and without ambiguity," he said.

Malviya also reflected on the controversies during the Bihar poll campaign.

"The Bihar results have reignited the debate around women voters. The Congress–RJD combine not only dragged the Prime Minister's mother into political mudslinging during the campaign, but their supporters and apologists are now deriding the women of Bihar as having sold out," said Malviya.

As sick as this mindset is, can anyone seriously complain that the NDA government empowered millions of women by giving them financial independence and turning them into micro-entrepreneurs? asked Malviya.

"If simply 'putting money in people's hands' ensured victory, then KCR in Telangana and Jagan Mohan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh would never have lost. Both governments emptied state coffers before elections. No one objected then. No one objected when the Congress distributed 'guarantee cards' promising Rs1 lakh per year to every poor woman before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, which they eventually lost. And unlike Bihar, their handouts were mere doles, not part of any asset-building or income-generating programme," said Malviya.

In Bihar, we heard countless stories of women purchasing goats, sewing machines, opening food stalls, grocery stores, small food-processing units, and more - all built on the foundation of real empowerment, said the BJP leader.

The NDA recorded a landslide victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, winning 202 seats out of 243. The Mahagathbandhan, led by the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal, ended up winning just 35 seats.

Chennai, Nov 15(SocialNews.XYZ) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday said the outcome of the Bihar Assembly election, though decisive, cannot erase the "misdeeds and reckless actions" of the Election Commission of India (ECI).

In a strongly worded statement posted on X, he asserted that the credibility of the poll body has hit an unprecedented low and stressed the need for a more transparent and impartial institution that can inspire confidence across the political spectrum.

Stalin, who is also the DMK chief, said the Bihar result, which delivered a clear victory for veteran leader Nitish Kumar, carries important lessons for political parties and the larger democratic process.

While congratulating the Bihar Chief Minister-designate for his emphatic win, he also commended RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav for "a tireless and spirited campaign" that energised voters, particularly the youth.

The DMK chief underlined that election outcomes are rarely shaped by a single factor. Instead, they reflect a combination of welfare delivery, effective social coalitions, ideological clarity, and the strength of political messaging, he said, adding that the Bihar mandate has shown once again that people respond to consistent governance, clear communication, and credible leadership.

Stalin noted that the INDIA bloc, of which the DMK is a key constituent, comprises senior leaders fully capable of interpreting the political message emerging from Bihar. He emphasised that the alliance must undertake a strategic introspection to address the evolving expectations of voters ahead of the next electoral cycle.

According to him, dedicated management "until the last vote is polled" remains central to any successful campaign.

Returning to his criticism of the ECI, he reiterated that the institution cannot afford to lose public trust at a time when democratic accountability is under intense scrutiny. He insisted that the Commission’s functioning should instil confidence "even among those who do not win", warning that erosion of faith in the poll body ultimately weakens India’s democratic foundations.

Stalin’s remarks come amid growing debate within opposition circles on the conduct of recent elections, with several leaders arguing that electoral institutions must be strengthened to ensure fairness, transparency, and public confidence in the world’s largest democracy.

Patna, Nov 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) With the NDA securing a decisive victory in the 2025 Bihar elections, JD(U) has released Mahabharata-themed posters, targeting RJD, which was decimated to just 25 seats in the 243-member Assembly.

The JD(U)'s striking Mahabharata-themed poster, installed on Patna's Bailey Road by party MLC Neeraj Kumar, showed RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav as Dhritrashtra, his wife and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi as Gandhari, former Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav as Duryodhana, and RJD Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Yadav as Sanjay.

The poster showed Lalu as Dhritrashtra asking, "Sanjay, dekh kya dikh raha hai? (Sanjay, tell me what you can see?)"

Sanjay Yadav (as Sanjay) replies: "Maharaj, Haryana mein mall dikh raha hai."

At the bottom, the poster carries the caption "Maha Bihar".

The JD(U) has long accused Lalu of acting like Dhritrashtra - a blind king allegedly controlled by affection for his son.

By portraying Tejashwi as Duryodhana, the ruling party suggests that Lalu's "family-first" politics harmed Bihar.

The mention of a mall in Haryana is a pointed reference to allegations raised by NDA leaders against the RJD's top leadership.

This is not the first time NDA leaders have used mythological analogies to criticise the RJD.

However, the timing - just after the NDA's win - indicates that the ruling camp is now on the front foot and intends to counter opposition.

The poster has already triggered political buzz in Patna, signalling that the post-election political battle is far from over.

Meanwhile, opposition is also being seen within the RJD regarding Sanjay Yadav.

Lalu's son and Janshakti Janata Dal chief Tej Pratap Yadav has repeatedly indirectly referred to Sanjay Yadav as Jaichand.

At present, there is disappointment in the RJD camp after the crushing defeat.

The BJP won 89 seats, the JD(U) 85, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) 19, the HAM (S) five, and the Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (four).

The RJD was reduced to 25 seats. Congress won six seats, AIMIM (five), CPI(ML)(L) (two), BSP, Indian Inclusive Party and CPI(M) (one each).

New Delhi, Nov 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) After the announcement of the Bihar Assembly election results, Union Minister and LJP (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan on Saturday met Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and congratulated him on the NDA’s sweeping mandate.

Paswan posted on X to mark the occasion, stating, “After the Bihar Assembly Election results today, met with the Honourable Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Nitish Kumar Ji and extended hearty congratulations and best wishes to him for the NDA's resounding majority.”

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Chirag Paswan reaffirmed the solidarity and unity within the ruling alliance.

He said, "After meeting the Chief Minister, I came to personally congratulate him and extend my best wishes. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the NDA achieved a historic victory. As a representative of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), I met him to convey our congratulations and good wishes..."

Paswan’s remarks come at a time when the NDA has consolidated its position in Bihar with a powerful, near-landslide performance. Leaders across the alliance have hailed the results as a mandate for stability and continuity.

Adding to Paswan’s sentiments, LJP (RV) MP Rajesh Verma highlighted the party’s impressive performance in the state polls. He said, "It is quite natural that 19 MLAs from our party have won, and many of the seats allotted to us were tough seats. Despite this, the party won 19 seats with a large margin, and on 2–3 seats we lost by very small margins. With this massive mandate, the people of Bihar have clearly shown that there is no alternative to the NDA now. The condition and the numbers of the Mahagathbandhan clearly indicate that the Opposition has disappeared..."

In a decisive electoral outcome, the NDA surged far past the majority mark of 122 seats, tightening its hold over Bihar as the ruling coalition secured a commanding victory.

The alliance, led by Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United), saw its numbers significantly boosted by a strong performance from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as the alliance bagged 202 seats.

In contrast, the Opposition Mahagathbandhan, comprising the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, and Left parties, suffered a severe setback.

In contrast, the Opposition Mahagathbandhan, comprising the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, and Left parties, suffered a severe setback.

Minister Ashok Chaudhary expressed gratitude to voters for placing their trust in the partnership between CM Nitish Kumar and PM Narendra Modi, along with the alliance's five partners.

Speaking to IANS, he said, "This overwhelming victory in Bihar reflects peace, stability, and development. Under Nitish Kumar's leadership, the people have strengthened the mandate. We are also especially thankful to PM Modi, Chirag, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Upendra Kushwaha. Together, as a strong team, we fought the battle and delivered a decisive victory."

JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha said the NDA was confident from the outset.

Speaking to IANS, he stated, "While we did not predict the exact number of seats, we knew we were heading towards a big victory. But the reason behind this landslide victory was that for 20 years, the Chief Minister's good governance shaped Bihar."

"Additionally, in the last two years, ever since the NDA formed the government at the Centre, there has been major support from the Centre, especially from the Prime Minister. This double-engine government is a way Bihar would develop into a top state, and people of the state believe this," Jha added.

LJP(R) MP Shambhavi Chaudhary described the outcome as a "huge victory".

"In many ways, you can say that our entire NDA leadership sought votes based on development. The people of Bihar have rejected jungle raj and goonda raj, and have chosen a strong and stable NDA government. The people of Bihar have given a clear message that the present and future of the state are secure in the hands of the NDA," Chaudhary told IANS.

JD(U) State President Umesh Kushwaha reiterated that the alliance had anticipated the triumph.

Speaking to IANS, he said, "We had already said that we will win. All NDA leaders worked together, and strong coordination was established from top to bottom among our workers. People appreciated and trusted the work and achievements of our leader, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar."

MLA-elect Shyam Rajak said the mandate belonged to the people.

Speaking to IANS, he noted, "This victory belongs to the people of Bihar. Those who placed their full faith in our leader, Nitish Kumar, and the NDA voted on the basis of their work and chose to make him Chief Minister again. We express our gratitude to all the voters of Bihar."

LJP(R) candidate from Mahua, Sanjay Kumar Singh, who contested against Jan Shakti Janata Dal founder Tej Pratap Yadav, said the sweeping results show that people have chosen development.

Speaking to IANS, he said, "Across Bihar, the people have given the NDA an overwhelming majority. This shows their faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and our Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. It is a victory for their vision, their policies, and the positive ideology they represent. The public believes that this leadership can truly bring development to Bihar."

Patna, Nov 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) The sweeping victory of the NDA in Bihar has left the opposition in deep shock, and Vaishali district reflects the same trend.

The BJP-JDU alliance secured 6 out of 7 Assembly seats, with the only exception being Raghopur, where Grand Alliance Chief Ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav managed to retain his stronghold.

Across the remaining constituencies, the Grand Alliance faced a series of setbacks as NDA candidates registered impressive wins.

Raghopur: Raghopur was the hot seat in Bihar due to the Grand Alliance Chief Ministerial candidate, Tejashwi Yadav was contesting. He managed to win the election against the BJP candidate Satish Kumar. The margin of victory was 14532 votes.

Lalganj: The Lalganj assembly seat was also closely watched by the observers due to Bahubali leader Munna Shukla’s daughter Shivani Shukla was contesting. However, she loses the electoral battle to the BJP's Sanjay Kumar Singh by 32167 votes.

Mahua: The Mahua seat in Vaishali district has a triangular contest between the BJP, RJD and JJD.

The electoral battle of Mahua was eventually won by Sanjay Kumar Singh of the BJP. He has defeated Mukesh Kumar Raushann of RJD, while Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, comes in the third position.

The BJP candidate won the election by a margin of 44997 votes.

Hajipur: The Hajipur seat goes to Awadesh Singh of the BJP. He has defeated Deo Kumar Chaurasia of RJD with a margin of 18509 votes.

Vaishali: The Vaishali Assembly seat was won by Sidhartha Patel of JDU. He has defeated Ajay Kumar Kushwaha of RJD with a margin of 32590 votes.

Raja Pakar (SC): Raja Pakar was one of those seats where a friendly fight took place between the Grand Alliance candidates.

The Congress had given the ticket to Pratima Kumari, while the CPI fielded Mohit Paswan.

Due to their friendly fight, Mahendra Ram of JDU took advantage of it and won the electoral battle convincingly with a huge margin of 48189 votes. Pratima Kumari came in the second position.

Mahnar: Mahnar was considered a hot seat in Bihar as the JDU state president, Umesh Singh Kushwaha, was contesting. He has defeated Ravindra Kumar Singh of RJD with a margin of 35558 votes.

Hyderabad, Nov 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) The AIMIM, which won five seats in the Bihar Assembly elections, will continue to fight for justice to the state's Seemanchal and work for its development, party President Asaduddin Owaisi said on Friday.

The Hyderabad MP said his party welcomes the mandate given by the people of Bihar. "We welcome the public mandate. We congratulate Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and express our best wishes," he said.

Addressing a press conference, Owaisi said his party would cooperate with the government for the development of Seemanchal.

"Our focus will be on bringing progress to Seemanchal, reducing child mortality, and building schools, hospitals, bridges, and industries for women and children. We will extend our full cooperation in this effort," he said.

Owaisi said, despite the defeat in the first election and despite the split engineered by the rivals by luring four MLAs in 2022, the AIMIM did not leave Seemanchal and declared that it would continue its fight.

Thanking the voters of Seemanchal for electing five MLAs of his party, Owaisi said this result will send a message to minorities across the country.

"I am again appealing to Muslim society not to be mere voters for others but to be citizens to get your rights as citizens. If you vote, you will be forgotten after the election, and nobody will come if some calamity befalls you," he said.

He hoped that secular-minded forces would also do the introspection and do course correction instead of only blaming Muslims.

"You can’t say a particular caste did not vote for you, but you blame Muslims because you feel they are your captive voters and they are bonded labourers," he said in reply to a question.

The AIMIM chief said he had been saying that the RJD would not be able to stop the BJP.

"People of Bihar were misled on the M-Y combination. I said this earlier and during elections, and saying it again today. You will be just reduced to vote givers. Become vote getters. There will be two benefits. Your leadership will develop, and you will be able to stop communal and fascist forces," he said.

Owaisi said his apprehensions about the Bihar elections' outcome have come true. Without naming the Mahagathbandhan, he said they need to introspect on why they failed to stop the BJP.

Urging them to do the course correction, he said merely cursing AIMIM will not help.

He rubbished the statement of Samajawadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, blaming SIR for the defeat in Bihar.

"You need to see your weaknesses. First of all, you have to be humble. If you think we are raja and voters are our praja, those days have gone," he said.

The AIMIM chief hailed the victory of Congress candidate Naveen Yadav in the Jubilee Hills by-election. He said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy called him and thanked him for his party’s support.

Terming this as a big victory after the 2023 elections, Owaisi hoped that CM Revanth Reddy would do more to improve infrastructure and civic amenities in Jubilee Hills and the rest of Hyderabad and Telangana.

He defended the stand taken by the party and pointed out that the vote share of the BRS was falling.

New Delhi, Nov 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) Leaders from the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) hailed the coalition’s emphatic victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, calling it a decisive mandate for development and a rejection of what they described as “false narratives” pushed by the Opposition.

Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said the results reflected people’s faith in the BJP-led alliance.

“The way the NDA has secured victory under the BJP’s leadership shows that this is a win for development and trust. This victory is a tight slap on those who tried to mislead people with their false narrative, and it marks an end to jungle raj,” he told IANS.

Echoing similar sentiments, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj thanked voters for rejecting the “politics of lies” of the Congress and the RJD.

Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra said the mandate proved that Bihar had voted beyond caste considerations. “People showed complete trust in Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar,” he said.

Delhi Assembly Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht added that the verdict acknowledged efforts to end lawlessness in the state.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the BJP-led NDA’s stupendous performance in the Bihar Assembly elections was a mandate against the ‘jungle raj’ and appeasement policy of the Mahagathbandhan parties.

Addressing a gathering of party workers and supporters at the BJP HQs, PM Modi said that he made two specific requests before the Bihar electorate – to cast their vote in record numbers and give a strong mandate to the NDA. He added that the people of Bihar heard his request and blessed the NDA with a strong mandate.

“The people of Bihar have voted for a developed Bihar. The people of Bihar have voted for a prosperous Bihar. During the election campaign, I had urged the people of Bihar for a record voting, and the people of Bihar have broken all records. I had urged the people of Bihar to ensure a massive victory for the NDA, and the people of Bihar have honoured this request of mine as well,” he said.

Taking a swipe at the Muslim-Yadav (MY) equation, flaunted by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) as its support base to appease certain sections, he said that the youth of Bihar have chosen a new MY formula for such people.

“People of Bihar have given a new meaning to MY – Mahila and Youth. Their dreams and aspirations have completely vanquished the MY formula, as furthered by certain parties to achieve their political interests,” he said.

Patna, Nov 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) The National Democratic Alliance's stellar performance in the Bihar Assembly poll continued in West Champaran district, where the alliance secured seven out of nine seats.

Only Valmiki Nagar and Chanpatia went to the Congress, which otherwise performed poorly across the state.

With this emphatic district-level mandate, the NDA is set to comfortably form the next government in Bihar.

Ramnagar: Nand Kishor Ram of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the electoral battle against Subodh Kumar of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) by a margin of 35,680 votes.

Narkatiaganj: BJP's Sanjay Kumar Pandey defeated Deepak Yadav of the RJD with a margin of 26,458 votes.

Bagaha: BJP candidate Ram Singh defeated Jayesh Mangalam Singh of the Congress with a margin of 6,313 votes.

Lauriya: This seat was won by Vinay Bihari of the BJP. He has defeated Ran Kaushal Pratap Singh of the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) by a margin of 26,966 votes.

Nautan: Nautan is another constituency where the BJP candidate secured his victory. Here, Narayan Prasad defeated Amit Kumar of the Congress by a margin of 22,072 votes.

Bettiah: Former Minister and BJP leader Renu Devi managed to win the Bettiah seat by defeating Washi Ahmad of the Congress. Her margin of victory was 22,373 votes.

Sikta: Sammridh Varma of the Janata Dal-United won the election by a margin of more than 46,000 votes against Independent candidate Khurshid Firoz Ahmad. CPI-ML candidate Birendra Prasad Gupta secured the third position.

Valmiki Nagar: Valmiki Nagar is one of those rare seats where the Grand Alliance managed to win the election. Here, Congress candidate Surendra Prasad defeated the JD-U candidate Dhirendra Pratap Singh with a margin of 1,675 votes.

Chanpatia: Chanpatia is another seat where Congress is leading against the BJP candidate. Congress candidate Abhishek Ranjan is leading here by a small margin of just 602 votes against the BJP's Umakant Singh.

The leaders of the NDA's alliance partners, including BJP, JD-U, Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas, Hindustani Awam Morcha-Secular and Rashtriya Lok Morcha, will soon hold a meeting to select the name of the Chief Ministerial candidate.

Sources have said that Nitish Kumar will take the oath as the Chief Minister for the 10th time in Bihar.

New Delhi, Nov 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday chargesheeted the mastermind in an inter-state arms and narcotics trafficking case linked with Pakistan-based operators.

In its chargesheet filed on Friday before the NIA Special Court in Jaipur Rajasthan, the central investigative agency named Vishal Pachar, charging him under various Sections of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), Arms Act, Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

According to the NIA, the accused was allegedly involved in procuring, transporting and distributing prohibited arms, ammunition and narcotics as part of the arms and drugs trafficking network spanning the northern states of Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab.

“As per NIA investigations in the case RC-01/2025/NIA/JPR, Pakistan-based associates supported the key accused by facilitating the supply of arms, ammunition and heroin,” the NIA said in its press note.

The NIA highlighted that these consignments were dropped near the border areas and later were retrieved by the members of the gang for distribution.

“The consignments were dropped near the border areas using high-powered drones, and were subsequently retrieved by members of the gang on the Indian side for further distribution,” the NIA said.

It also noted that “the gang members would also procure illegal foreign weapons to arm themselves against the police and other government agencies.”

The accused used encrypted communication channels and cross-border couriers to smuggle weapons and narcotics into India through various states, NIA investigations in the case, which it took over from the state police, further revealed.

“A well-established nexus between illegal arms suppliers and drug traffickers was found targeting youth by pushing psychotropic substances to drive drug addiction, intending to exploit them and spread disaffection against the government machinery,” the agency said.

The agency further said that their “investigation is continuing to bust the larger network involved in the trafficking and to identify other accused and suspects in the case.”

New Delhi, Nov 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is heading towards one of its most decisive victories in two decades as counting continues for the Bihar Assembly elections.

Having crossed the 200-seat mark in the 243-member House, the NDA has not only consolidated its position but also surpassed its strong 2010 performance.

Here is a look at the major winners and losers:

Big Winners

Nitish Kumar

After nearly two decades in power, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has successfully overcome anti-incumbency pressures. His Janata Dal (United) is leading in over 80 seats, contributing significantly to the NDA’s sweeping mandate.

The outcome secures Kumar a fifth term as Chief Minister and halts the Opposition’s attempt -- especially that of Tejashwi Yadav -- to project a “youth versus experience” narrative in Bihar.

Chirag Paswan

One of the biggest comeback stories of this election is Chirag Paswan. After winning only one seat in 2020, his Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) converted its nearly 6 per cent vote share into a remarkable performance, winning 22 of the 29 seats it contested.

A strong consolidation of the Paswan vote, coupled with Chirag's appeal among Dalits and young voters, has significantly boosted his political stature within the NDA.

Asaduddin Owaisi and AIMIM

The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), led by Asaduddin Owaisi, has delivered another strong performance in the Seemanchal region, a pocket where it has steadily expanded influence.

AIMIM won five seats -- Jokihat (Araria), Kochadhaman (Kishanganj), Amour (Purnea), Bahadurganj and Baisi (Purnea). These are the same constituencies it had secured in the 2020 elections, reflecting a firm hold on its support base.

HAM and RLM

Smaller NDA allies have punched above their weight. Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) of Jitan Ram Manjhi won five of the six seats it contested, while Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) of Upendra Kushwaha led in four seats.

The strong performance of these partners played a crucial role in the NDA crossing the 200-seat threshold.

Big Losers

Tejashwi’s RJD

Despite being projected as the Opposition’s chief ministerial face, Tejashwi Yadav failed to convert anti-incumbency into electoral gains -- even though he comfortably retained his Raghopur seat.

The RJD’s tally of just 25 seats is slightly better than its performance in 2010, when it won only 22 seats.

After gaining momentum in 2020, the party’s slide in 2025 dealt a major setback to Tejashwi’s political career.

Rahul Gandhi and Congress

The Congress once again failed to make an impact in Bihar, ending with single-digit seats.

Despite Rahul Gandhi’s “Voter Adhikar Yatra”, allegations of “vote chori,” and criticism of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, the party struggled to connect with voters.

This outcome continues the decline seen in 2020, when the Congress contested 70 seats but won just 19, weakening the Mahagathbandhan’s prospects.

This time it contested 61 seats and has won three, and is ahead in three only.

Prashant Kishor

Political strategist-turned-activist Prashant Kishor, who is credited with helping several political parties win elections, finds himself among the most prominent losers.

Despite a two-year padyatra and high visibility, his Jan Suraaj platform failed to register any electoral impact -- polling fewer votes than NOTA in several seats.

His development-centric pitch failed to resonate, and his choice not to contest seats created confusion about the movement’s direction.

Mukesh Sahani

Projected as a key player in the Seemanchal region, Mukesh Sahani -- named a deputy CM face of the Mahagathbandhan after hard negotiations -- failed to deliver. His Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) could not convert caste-based mobilisation into tangible gains.

The Nishad (fisherman) vote, which he sought to consolidate, appears to have swung decisively toward the NDA, attracted by targeted welfare assurances.

Patna, Nov 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) President Nitish Kumar on Friday expressed deep gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the voters of Bihar as the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) surged towards a historic mandate in the 2025 Assembly elections.

In a statement issued after the latest trends showed the NDA crossing the 200-seat mark in the 243-member Assembly, Kumar said the people of Bihar had “reaffirmed their faith” in the NDA government.

“In the Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections 2025, the people of the state have expressed their confidence in our government by giving us a massive majority. For this, I bow to all the esteemed voters of the state and express my heartfelt gratitude,” he said.

Thanking Prime Minister Modi for his support, he added, “I express my heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji for the support received from him, while bowing to him.”

Kumar also credited the victory to the unity and coordination within the NDA.

“The NDA alliance has achieved a massive majority in this election by demonstrating complete unity. For this victory, thanks and gratitude are also due to all our alliance partners -- Shri Chirag Paswan ji, Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi ji, and Shri Upendra Kushwaha ji. With the support of all of you, Bihar will progress even further and move towards becoming one of the most developed states in the country.”

He tagged his post to PM Modi, Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Upendra Kushwaha.

The JD(U), a key pillar of the NDA in Bihar, has already won 48 seats and is leading in 36 others, taking its tally to 84 seats. The party contested the election in alliance with the BJP and regional partners including HAMS, RLM and LJP(R).

The NDA’s sweeping performance has left the Opposition bloc -- Mahagathbandhan -- struggling, with its tally hovering around 35 seats -- one of its poorest showings so far.

Haveri (Karnataka), Nov 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) Former Karnataka Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai said on Friday that the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been reaffirmed even after the Lok Sabha elections through the Bihar Assembly results declared earlier in the day, adding that "Congress leaders thought that people would vote for them but they have been proven wrong".

"In Maharashtra, Haryana and Bihar too, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's popularity has been clearly established. Congress leaders thought that everyone stood with them, but that has been proven false," former Chief Minister Bommai added.

Speaking to reporters, the former Chief Minister said: "There was a lot of discussion in Bihar about caste politics and equations. Congress leaders believed that all communities were with them, but that has been proved wrong. About 80 per cent of the SC-ST communities have voted for the BJP. The Backward Classes and the SC-ST communities have supported the BJP. Because the Congress went too far in appeasement politics, the votes of the minorities consolidated against them. This has become a huge blessing for PM Modi to take major decisions in the coming days in the interest of the nation's development."

Reacting to a query on the allegations made by Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, regarding "vote chori" allegations, Bommai said: "Vote theft -- who did it? Where is the evidence? Even those who lost votes have not made such allegations. Who exactly stole the votes? Rahul Gandhi himself has written letters demanding electoral roll purification in all states. If an FIR is filed, the purification will take place. Congress tried to turn a lie into truth by repeating it again and again. People have seen their anarchy. The people are wiser than the leaders -- this is what the people of Bihar have shown."

On what lesson the Bihar election results hold for the Karnataka BJP unit, he said: "If all of them unite and fight against the corrupt and disastrous Congress government in the state with "pro-people movements", the BJP will definitely secure a majority in the next state Assembly election."

Reacting to Congress leaders' allegations linking the election to the Delhi bomb blast during the polling period, Bommai said: "The blast had nothing to do with the election. Congress makes politics out of everything. The people are intelligent."

Responding to a query about the clashes in Mudhol over sugarcane pricing, he noted: "The Congress-led state government did not show the same interest in Mudhol as it did in Belagavi. The state government is directly responsible for this. Had it handled the situation at the right time, the incident could have been avoided. Let there be an inquiry. The state government must compensate the innocent farmers for their sugarcane losses. This is an irresponsible government."

Countering the allegations of Karnataka Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre, who blamed the BJP for the Mudhol incident, Bommai said, "What does Khandre know? How is the BJP responsible for this? Farmers sitting in protest across districts have turned against the Congress-led state government. If he cannot see that, it is unfortunate."

Hubballi (Karnataka), Nov 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) Union Minister for Food and Consumer Affairs Pralhad Joshi, on Friday, criticised the Congress and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for the massive electoral defeat in the Bihar Assembly polls, adding that the grand old party was collapsing across the country and even proving to be a liability for its own INDIA bloc allies.

"The Congress party is a sinking boat. Rahul Gandhi is dragging even his ally parties down with him," Union Minister Joshi said.

Speaking to the media in Hubballi, the Union Minister said that under Rahul Gandhi's leadership, the Congress is collapsing across the country.

The people of Bihar have not accepted Rahul Gandhi's strategy of making baseless 'vote theft' allegations, he remarked.

"In Bihar, the Congress is struggling to even reach single-digit results. Rahul Gandhi is eroding even the existence of his own ally parties. Rahul Gandhi used to always talk about nuclear and hydrogen bombs. Now, he has exploded all those bombs on his own party and its allies," Union Minister Joshi said sarcastically.

He also added that Rahul Gandhi had attempted to cast doubts on a constitutional institution and the democratic system of the country.

"By making baseless allegations such as vote theft and EVM malfunction, he (Rahul Gandhi) tried to mislead the voters -- and he has received the outcome of doing so," Union Minister Joshi said.

He added that the people of Bihar have outright rejected all the accusations made by the Congress and the Mahagathbandhan.

"This is a fitting response to their (Congress's) vote theft allegations. Rahul Gandhi should at least now learn to respect the voters, the Constitution, and Constitutional institutions," he urged.

He noted that the NDA alliance has secured a historic victory in Bihar.

"This mandate has been given by the voters for the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. I thank the people of Bihar for this," Union Minister Joshi said.

Union Minister of State for the Ministry of Jal Shakti and the Ministry of Railways, V. Somanna, taking to X, said, "Bihar Chooses Progress. Bihar Chooses NDA. The people of Bihar have handed down a verdict filled with conviction... a historic, unmatched mandate that celebrates development, dignity, and stability."

"They have once again placed their firm faith in our humble and dynamic Prime Minister, Narendra Modi Ji, whose visionary leadership inspires confidence in every corner of the nation. Under his guidance, the NDA has transformed promises into progress, and development into a daily reality, a journey that will now continue with even greater momentum. Congratulations to the people of Bihar!" Union Minister Somanna added.

Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Labour and Employment, Shobha Karandlaje, took part in a celebratory event held on Friday at the Mangaluru District BJP Office in Karnataka.

She described the NDA's victory in Bihar as "historic and unprecedented".

She distributed sweets and shared the joyous moment with BJP workers.

Jaipur, Nov 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) Expressing gratitude to the people of the Anta Assembly constituency for the landslide victory of Congress candidate Pramod Jain 'Bhaya' in the bye-election, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee President Govind Singh Dotasra said that all party leaders and workers worked tirelessly to secure this historic win.

He stated that they successfully "exposed" the "misgovernance" of the state and central governments.

People of Anta voted against the BJP's "failures" and extended their support to the Congress ideology and policies, resulting in a decisive victory for the Congress, he said.

The voters of Anta rejected the BJP government's "misrule" and instead supported the "public welfare–oriented" and "people-friendly schemes" implemented under the Congress government, which directly benefited the common man.

"Following the so-called Gujarat model, individuals from Gujarat are corruptly acquiring government contracts and engaging in business at throwaway prices. The people of Anta have understood this corrupt model and have rejected the misgovernance, while endorsing the Congress Party's policies," he claimed.

Dotasra alleged that BJP leaders "mislead, deceive, and lie to the people instead of serving them".

He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all Congress leaders and workers for their dedicated efforts.

Thanking the voters of Anta, the Congress leader assured them that the grand old party is always committed to serving the people and that all Congress leaders and workers will stand with them in every difficulty and hardship.

Dotsara added that, "The entire cabinet of the BJP government, the former Chief Minister, and the current Chief Minister fully engaged in attempting to secure victory for their candidate in Anta. The Government machinery and financial resources were misused extensively. Despite this, Congress workers remained patient and continued to work diligently for the party, ultimately ensuring a landslide victory for the Congress candidate."

New Delhi, Nov 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) According to the latest trends by the Election Commission, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) appears headed for one of its poorest electoral performances since the party was founded in the late 1990s.

As of the latest updates, the party has won eight seats and is leading on 17, taking its likely tally to around 25 seats in the 243-member Bihar Legislative Assembly.

The RJD had contested 143 seats, positioning itself as one of the major players in this election.

However, if the current trends hold, the party’s final seat count may fall sharply short of expectations and well below its performances in previous electoral cycles.

Historically, the RJD has remained a formidable political force in Bihar, with several strong showings since its inception.

After its formal formation in 1997, the RJD continued to register significant influence, winning 124 seats in 2000, followed by 75 seats in 2005 (February) and 54 seats in the October 2005 elections.

In 2010, when the party faced a strong NDA wave, it managed to secure only 22 seats, later recovering with 80 seats in 2015.

In the 2020 assembly elections, the RJD emerged as the single-largest party with 75 seats, demonstrating a strong resurgence. Against this backdrop, the current trend showing the party poised for barely two dozen seats marks a dramatic reversal.

For a party that has shaped Bihar’s political discourse for over two decades, the present numbers signal a significant erosion of its traditional support base.

If the trends translate into final results, the RJD may be heading toward one of the most serious electoral setbacks in its history, raising pressing questions about leadership strategy, voter outreach, and the party’s future trajectory in Bihar’s shifting political landscape.

Notably, the vote percentage of RJD stands at 22.88 per cent, making it the biggest party in terms of the vote percentage.

Gandhinagar, Nov 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Gujarat BJP leadership hailed the National Democratic Alliance's emphatic win in the Bihar Assembly elections, calling it a "resounding mandate" for development, good governance and political stability, and celebrated the occasion.

A press conference was held at the party's state headquarters, Shri Kamalam, in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and state BJP president Jagdish Vishwakarma.

Addressing the media, Chief Minister Patel congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the NDA leadership and party workers for what he described as a "historic victory".

He said the Bihar mandate reflected the triumph of "good governance, development-oriented politics, security through Operation Sindoor, corruption-free administration, and the vision of a Viksit Bharat".

CM Patel added that the result was also an endorsement of Atmanirbhar Bharat and India's indigenous policy framework.

He thanked BJP workers from Gujarat who campaigned in Bihar, acknowledging their contribution to the result.

Vishwakarma said the NDA's strong performance, crossing the majority mark of 122 seats with comfortable leads across constituencies, had generated enthusiasm across the country, including among Gujarat's 6.5 crore citizens.

He said voters in Bihar had once again expressed faith in the NDA government, rejecting "dynastic and corrupt political parties" and giving a clear mandate to end "jungle raj".

Vishwakarma added that Bihar had recorded notable progress under Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, citing improvements in growth indicators and literacy rates. Women and youth, he said, played a crucial role in the electoral outcome.

Senior leaders Gaurang Zadafiya and Surendra Patel were also present at the press briefing.

The Gujarat BJP extended congratulations to Prime Minister Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP national president and Health Minister J.P. Nadda on the alliance's decisive victory in Bihar.

Meanwhile, in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said the people of Bihar had shown overwhelming faith in the government, delivering a decisive mandate.

He expressed gratitude to every voter in the state and offered his sincere thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and NDA allies.

New Delhi, Nov 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) The massive mandate for the NDA in Bihar Assembly elections not just reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi's enduring charisma but also mirrors a course correction by a large number electors who did not back the BJP-led alliance in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, political analysts said on Friday.

As repeatedly seen in Assembly elections held after the Lok Sabha elections last year, people have felt a sense of guilt and as a result voted repeatedly in favour of the BJP in Haryana, Maharashtra, Delhi and now Bihar, a psephologist said.

An Opinion poll conducted in Haryana and Maharashtra soon after BJP's big victory in the Western state last November, showed that more than 50 per cent of the respondents in both states agreed that PM Modi's popularity had increased after the Lok Sabha elections.

In Bihar, the Lok Sabha mandate in 2024 had reduced the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) tally by 10 seats as compared to 2019 -- down from 39 to 29 out of the total 40 parliamentary seats.

However, the NDA has managed to bounce back in the current Bihar Assembly elections, just about a year-and-a-half after the parliamentary poll setback, by nearing the tally of 200 seats in the 243-member State Legislature.

Experts said that a course correction by voters after the Lok Sabha is apparent as the massive mandate in the Assembly polls reflects the people's contentment, especially that of women voters, with the delivery of welfare schemes by PM Modi-led Central government and Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government.

The BJP and the JD-U have both improved their vote share in the current Bihar Assembly elections as compared to 2020 Assembly polls.

The trends on the counting day on Friday showed that the BJP's vote share rose to 20.67 per cent from 19.5 per cent in the 2020 Assembly elections and JD-U's moved up to 19.67 per cent from 15.4 per cent in 2020.

In collective terms, the NDA's vote share in 2020 Bihar Assembly elections was 35.7 per cent, which stood at 48.2 per cent in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and an IANS-Matrize Exit Poll conducted on November 11 -- the second and final phase of voting in the Bihar Assembly elections -- showed that an overwhelming 65 per cent of women voters backed the NDA.

The findings of the Exit Poll, with a sample size of 66,087 and a margin of error of plus-minus three per cent, suggested that PM Modi-led Central government's and Nitish Kumar government's women-centric welfare schemes had impressed women who backed the ruling alliance wholeheartedly in the current elections.

The Mahagathbandhan, led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress, managed to secure just 27 per cent of women's votes, the Exit Poll said.

New Delhi, Nov 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) In one of the most fiercely contested elections in Bihar’s recent political history, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is leading in around 200 seats, well above the majority mark of 122, while the Mahagathbandhan has fallen to a mere 34, although the voting percentage of RJD is leading the tally.

According to the Election Commission’s latest trends (6.34 p.m.), the vote percentage of RJD stands at 22.85 per cent, making it the biggest party in terms of the vote percentage.

Similarly, the percentage of the BJP stands at 20.28 per cent, JDU (19.14 per cent), Congress (8.78 per cent), LJP-Ram Vilas (5.04 per cent), CPI (ML) (2.90 per cent), AIMIM (1.92 per cent), NOTA (1.81 per cent), and others.

According to the ECI, RJD has secured victory in eight seats and is leading in 17.

Notably, this is one of the poorest performances of the RJD since its inception in the late 1990s.

Reacting to these trends, Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier described the NDA's sweep in the Bihar Assembly elections as a victory of "good governance and development", vowing to take the state's infrastructure and culture to new heights and creating ample opportunities for the youth and women.

"In the coming times, we will actively work towards the development of Bihar, giving a new identity to the infrastructure and the culture of the state. We will ensure that the youth power and women power here get ample opportunities for a prosperous life," said PM Modi on social media platform X, crediting every worker of the NDA for the massive mandate in favour of the NDA.

In his message, the PM said, "Victory of good governance has been achieved. Victory of development has been achieved. Victory of the spirit of public welfare has been achieved. Victory of social justice has been achieved."

"My deepest gratitude to the family members of Bihar, who have blessed the NDA with a historic and unprecedented victory in the 2025 Assembly elections. This resounding public mandate will empower us to serve the people and work with new resolve for Bihar," he said.

Guwahati, Nov 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday mocked Rahul Gandhi for the grand old party's poll debacle and NDA's impressive showing in Bihar, saying the Congress leader is the BJP's biggest "star campaigner".

Talking to reporters here, CM Sarma said, "I mentioned this fact repeatedly during the poll campaign in Bihar that wherever Rahul Gandhi campaigns, the BJP is set to win those seats. This is true, and if Rahul Gandhi decides to campaign in Assam, we will welcome him as he would further ensure the BJP's win in the upcoming Assembly polls."

The Chief Minister also took a potshot at the recent meeting of opposition parties to make a united front to put up a strong fight against the BJP in the next election.

"The meeting of the opposition parties was convened actually to discuss the marriage of an opposition leader. We should not worry about the opposition parties here and more importantly, if Akhil Gogoi is present somewhere, a disaster is ought to happen," he added.

Notably, in a resounding poll verdict that cements the National Democratic Alliance's iron grip on Bihar, the ruling coalition stormed to a landslide, obliterating the majority mark of 122.

Led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United), the NDA's tally was bolstered by the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Voter turnout rose to 67.14 per cent, up nearly 10 percentage points from 2020, signalling robust participation amid high-stakes campaigning.

In stark contrast, the Opposition Mahagathbandhan, comprising the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, and Left parties, was decimated.

The RJD, the alliance's linchpin, scraped through with less than 40 seats, while Congress and the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation each faced massive defeat.

The NDA's 47.2 per cent vote share dwarfed the Mahagathbandhan's stagnant 37.3 per cent, a marginal rise from 37.23 per cent in 2020, highlighting how vote efficiency and consolidation propelled the incumbents to victory while fragmenting the Opposition's base.

This analysis delves into the microdynamics behind the Mahagathbandhan's electoral annihilation, drawing on data from the Election Commission of India trends, alliance arithmetic, and expert dissections.

The Grand Alliance's rout stems from a toxic mix of internal frailties, strategic blunders, and the NDA's masterful counter-mobilisation, turning anti-incumbency whispers into a non-starter.

Thiruvananthapuram Nov 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) Maverick Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Friday said the Opposition must undertake "serious introspection" following its resounding defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections, stressing that lessons must be learnt ahead of five crucial state polls next year.

His remarks, coming hours after the results, underline the growing concern within the INDIA bloc about gaps in strategy and coordination.

Interacting with reporters here, Tharoor, who has raised hackles in the party with his stand on various issues that contradict the party line, said the scale of the setback had taken even journalists and ground-level observers by surprise.

"This defeat — one should learn lessons. Why did it happen? Where was the problem? Was it with the leaders, candidate selection, or something else?" he asked, noting that the alliance must conduct an honest self-assessment rather than rush to conclusions.

Tharoor said he did not have direct knowledge of the internal dynamics in Bihar since he was not involved in the campaign.

"I do not know what happened there as I was not invited, so I do not know the ground realities," he said.

However, he added that feedback from journalists suggested that “this sort of drubbing was least expected.”

With five states, including Kerala, going to the polls next year, the Thiruvananthapuram MP said the Opposition must act swiftly to recalibrate its approach.

"Introspection is the need of the hour," he emphasised, warning that any delay in acknowledging structural and organisational weaknesses could prove costly in the larger electoral cycle leading up to 2026 and the 2029 general election.

Tharoor also pointed out that the Congress was not the principal party in Bihar, where regional allies played the dominant role.

"We were not the main party in Bihar; hence, they also have to introspect," he said, suggesting that responsibility must be collectively shared within the INDIA bloc.

His candid assessment is expected to intensify calls within the Congress and its allies for a thorough review of the campaign strategy, messaging, and candidate selection processes.

All eyes are on the Congress in general and, in particular, Tharoor’s repeated jibes on how the party leadership will take this at a time when its stock is at its lowest.

New Delhi, Nov 14 (SocialNews.XYZ) Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H. D. Kumaraswamy hailed the NDA's sweeping victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, describing it as a "resounding mandate for the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi" and a clear signal that the people of Bihar have endorsed the politics of development.

Calling the verdict historic, Kumaraswamy said the people of Bihar have once again placed their trust in Prime Minister Modi's development-centric model of governance, proving that progress and stability remain top priorities for the electorate.

He emphasised that the mandate reflects the people's desire for long-term growth and their rejection of divisive politics.

"The people of Bihar have voted for development, stability, and long-term progress. They have rejected divisive narratives and chosen a constructive, future-oriented path," he stated.

Highlighting the teamwork and collective strength that powered the NDA's victory, Kumaraswamy applauded senior leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President and Union Health Minister J. P. Nadda, senior leaders Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan, and Jitan Ram Manjhi, saying that each of them worked with a unified mission: Bihar's development.

Kumaraswamy noted that the people have rewarded the NDA government's persistent efforts in infrastructure expansion, welfare schemes, youth empowerment, and social justice, all of which have improved the state's development trajectory.

He added that this verdict reaffirms Bihar's alignment with the NDA's broader roadmap for a Viksit Bharat and strengthens the nation's march toward a developed and self-reliant India under the Prime Minister's leadership.

"As a partner in the NDA, I congratulate the people of Bihar for choosing good governance over empty rhetoric," he said, affirming that the coalition will continue to work with honesty and commitment.

Kumaraswamy also extended heartfelt appreciation to the NDA's grassroots workers.

"My congratulations to every NDA worker who carried the message of development to every home. Their dedication and sincerity have made this victory possible," he said.

This analysis delves into the micro-dynamics behind the Mahagathbandhan's electoral annihilation, drawing on data from the Election Commission of India trends, alliance arithmetic, and expert dissections.

The rout stems from a toxic mix of internal frailties, strategic blunders, and the NDA's masterful counter-mobilisation, turning anti-incumbency whispers into a non-starter.

The Mahagathbandhan's cohesion cracked under the weight of its weakest partner, Congress, whose dismal showing eroded the bloc's overall momentum.

Contesting 61 seats, Congress which is leading on only four, a 79 per cent plunge from 19 in 2020, with its vote share slumping to around eight percent from 9.48 per cent. This underperformance dragged down allies like the RJD, which saw its seats halve from 75 to 31 despite holding a 23 per cent vote share, the highest among single parties.

Internal discord on seat-sharing led to friendly contests in 11 seats, sapping resources and voter clarity.

Rahul Gandhi's reported dissatisfaction with the formula kept him off the campaign trail for nearly two months after his September Voter Adhikar Yatra, diluting the alliance's high-decibel push.

Key Congress figures faltered, with State party Chief Rajesh Ram losing by 3,721 votes and Congress Legislature Party leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan by 18,816. This exposed a meltdown in organisational depth, making Congress a liability that failed to counter BJP's narratives on vote theft allegations.

This fragility amplified the Mahagathbandhan's numerical disadvantage, with Congress's Economically Backward Classes (EBC) pivot alienating upper-caste remnants without netting new votes.

The Mahagathbandhan's hopes of channeling anti-NDA sentiment fizzled as splinter votes diluted its base.

Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party, debuting with a 3.5 per cent vote share, blanked on seats but eroded 2.8 points from the Mahagathbandhan's tally by appealing to urban youth and migrants disillusioned with status quo jobs.

Similarly, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) fragmented Muslim votes in Seemanchal, where the Mahagathbandhan led in just eight to 10 of 24 seats, down from stronger 2020 showings.

The Mahagathbandhan's vote share stagnated at 37.3 per cent despite absorbing micro-allies like Vikassheel Insaan Party for Mallah and EBC outreach, which drew zero seats from 10 contests.

This fragmentation contrasted with the NDA's bipolar efficiency, where the Effective Number of Parties dipped to 2.65, magnifying a 10-point vote lead into 151 extra seats over the Mahagathbandhan.

In Shahabad, a 2020 Mahagathbandhan bastion with 20 of 22 seats, Jan Suraaj's buzz helped NDA flip to 10 to 12 leads, underscoring how new alternatives lured fence-sitters without benefiting the Opposition.

As Jan Suraaj Spokesperson Pavan K Varma admitted, their failure to win trust stemmed from lacking grassroots roots, but the damage to Mahagathbandhan was collateral and severe.

Bihar's caste calculus, once the Mahagathbandhan's forte via RJD's Yadav-Muslim axis, was outflanked by the NDA's expansive social engineering.

The Mahagathbandhan's eclectic mix of Yadavs at 14 per cent and Muslims at 17.7 per cent could not match the NDA's rainbow coalition; BJP's upper-caste lock at 22 per cent population, JD(U)'s EBC and MahaDalit surge with vote share up four per cent to 19 per cent, and LJP(RV)'s five to six per cent Dalit and Paswan consolidation.

Turnout skewed female by nine points above males, favouring Nitish Kumar's 20-year goodwill from schemes like Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana with 10,000-rupee grants and Jeevika self-help groups.

Elderly women in Jehanabad cited ration and dignity as loyalty drivers, boosting NDA in more than 50 seats in Mithilanchal-Kosi.

Despite Mahagathbandhan's core, NDA fielded four winning Muslim candidates, such as JD(U)'s Shagufta Azim in Araria, leading in 10 to 12 Seemanchal seats, a shift from zero Muslim MLAs in the outgoing House.

The Mahagathbandhan's caste mobilisation did not add up, as smaller inclusions like Indian Inclusive Party for Tanti-Paan castes yielded no dividends.

Tejashwi Yadav's 85 rallies targeted youth unemployment, but the Mahagathbandhan's fear-mongering on electoral roll revisions and Nitish's flip-flops rang hollow against NDA's 84 Nitish-led development meets.

Rahul Gandhi's Muslim-belt forays in Seemanchal flopped, with the region swinging NDA-ward.

Tejashwi's 160-seat forecast crumbled to under 50 leads, eroding credibility amid NDA's welfare narrative on housing and rations.

Analysts credit Nitish's unshakable force in uniting non-Yadav OBCs at 35 per cent electorate, while Mahagathbandhan's defensive pivot ignored aspirational shifts, leading to losses in Magadh with NDA taking 30 to 35 seats and Angika with 20 to 23.

The Mahagathbandhan's 2025 drubbing, from 110 seats in 2020 to 39, signals deeper malaise, with Congress's irrelevance and fragmentation risks hobbling future national ambitions.

For the NDA, it is validation of Nitish's enduring formula, though Jan Suraaj's 3.5 per cent hints at brewing urban unrest.

As Bihar eyes 2029, the Opposition must introspect: rebuild alliances sans baggage, craft bold visions, and reclaim the welfare-caste narrative.

Until then, Nitish Kumar's third term cements Bihar's NDA era.
