Sunny Deol Unveils Suryaa Teaser on 69th Birthday: 'They Thought It Was His End, For Suryaa, It Was Only the Beginning'

Sunny Deol chose his 69th birthday to give fans a powerful gift: the teaser of his upcoming crime thriller Suryaa: Ant Se Aarambh Tak. The actor unveiled the first glimpse of the film on social media, introducing a story of betrayal, injustice and a man who refuses to give up when the system fails him. Promising a return to his intense, no-nonsense screen persona, the teaser sets the tone for a thriller that takes on corruption and the exploitation of vulnerable people. The film is scheduled to release in cinemas on November 20, 2026.

Sharing the teaser, Sunny wrote, “THEY THOUGHT IT WAS HIS END. FOR SURYAA, IT WAS ONLY THE BEGINNING.” He also addressed his fans in Hindi, saying, “Aap sab ke naam aaj #SURYAATeaser Dekhiye. Sochiye. Satark Rahiye aur Agar kuch galat ho toh ladiye!” The message translates into a call to watch, think, remain alert and stand up against wrongdoing. The film’s tagline, “Ant Se Aarambh Tak”, reinforces the idea that what appears to be an ending could become the beginning of a fight for justice.

The teaser opens with Sunny’s voiceover reflecting on the trust people place in doctors, whom he describes as representatives of God. However, his faith is shaken when he speaks about sections of the medical profession allegedly exploiting patients and their families for money. The subject gives the film a socially charged edge, highlighting how people already struggling with illness can become vulnerable to financial exploitation. Sunny’s familiar intensity adds weight to the premise, suggesting a character driven by personal pain and a determination to confront a deeply troubling system.

Suryaa: Ant Se Aarambh Tak is a Hindi adaptation of the 2018 Malayalam crime thriller Joseph, written by Shahi Kabir. Sunny reportedly plays a retired police officer who becomes involved in an investigation that leads him towards disturbing revelations connected to his past. The story is expected to combine crime, emotional conflict and a search for truth, with the protagonist confronting questions that go beyond a straightforward investigation. The teaser offers an early look at the film’s serious tone while keeping several plot details under wraps.

The film is directed by M. Padmakumar, who also helmed the original Malayalam film. It is produced by Deepak Mukut, Hemmant Mukut and Lokesh Mukut. Ravi Kishan and Pragya Jaiswal feature in key roles alongside Sunny, adding to the ensemble. With its crime-thriller framework and focus on alleged medical malpractice, the film brings together a familiar genre and a subject with real-world relevance. The makers have yet to reveal the full details of the characters and how their stories intersect.

Sunny Deol continues to remain busy with major projects across different cinematic worlds. Apart from Suryaa, he is set to appear in Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious Ramayana, which features Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi. With Suryaa arriving in November, the actor is preparing to bring another intense character to the big screen. The birthday teaser has given fans their first taste of what lies ahead, while its central message urges audiences to question wrongdoing rather than look away. Suryaa: Ant Se Aarambh Tak releases in cinemas on November 20, 2026.
