The trailer immediately transports viewers to Rajasthan in the early 1990s, introducing a world shaped by greed, power, desperation and the intense pressure of preserving family lineage. Led by Yashpal Sharma, the story appears to be packed with complicated characters, explosive emotions and conflicts that go far deeper than they initially seem. Alka Amin, Bhawani Singh Chouhan and Vivek Pareek also feature prominently, while the ensemble adds further depth to a world that feels firmly rooted in the traditions and realities of Rajasthan.
What really stands out in the trailer is its atmosphere. From rugged landscapes and dusty roads to traditional settings and dramatic confrontations, Dhood appears to embrace Rajasthan in all its raw beauty. The trailer combines powerful dialogues, evocative music and breathtaking locations to create a world that feels authentic rather than overly polished. There is a sense of danger and desperation running through almost every frame, giving the film the feel of a gritty theatrical thriller while keeping its cultural identity firmly intact.
At the centre of this world is Yashpal Sharma, whose commanding presence immediately gives the film weight. He is joined by Alka Amin and Bhawani Singh Chouhan, while Vivek Pareek, Praveen Choudhary and Vanikki Tyagi make their introductions with the film. The ensemble appears to bring together different shades of Rajasthan’s social fabric, with the story exploring how power, family honour and survival can collide in a deeply traditional society. Yet despite being steeped in a particular place and period, the emotions at its core are designed to connect with audiences across India.
Written and directed by Anand Singh Chouhan, Dhood (Sandstorm) is produced by Samar Jain, Narendra Krishania, Mukesh Pareek, DS Chouhan and Abhishek Chopra. Miraj Cinemas is supporting the film’s theatrical journey, giving the Rajasthani production a significantly wider platform. The music and soundtrack have been composed by Mehul Surti, known for his work on the acclaimed Gujarati film Hellaro, adding another intriguing layer to the film’s distinctive soundscape.
With its pan-India release, Dhood is attempting something genuinely significant for Rajasthani cinema — taking a deeply local story and giving it a national theatrical stage without losing the authenticity of its language, culture and setting. The trailer promises drama, emotion, power struggles and plenty of mystery, all wrapped in the breathtaking landscape of Rajasthan. Dhood (Sandstorm) is set to hit cinemas on October 23, and if the trailer is anything to go by, this Rajasthan-rooted thriller could be ready to make some serious noise across the country.
