Sohla Trailer: Sonali Bendre Turns Presenter With a Heartwarming Marathi Coming-of-Age Story

Sonali Bendre is stepping into a new role in cinema with her debut as a film presenter for the upcoming Marathi movie Sohla. The official trailer of the coming-of-age family drama was released on October 5, giving audiences a glimpse into a touching story rooted in childhood, family traditions and the first steps towards growing up. Produced by Goldie Behl under Rose Audio Visuals in collaboration with Carryon Films, the film is set to arrive in cinemas on October 16, 2026.

At the heart of Sohla is Pashya, a 13-year-old boy standing at an important crossroads between childhood and adolescence. Set against the backdrop of rural Maharashtra, the film revolves around a traditional Maharashtrian celebration that marks his transition into a new phase of life. One of the symbolic moments in the story involves Pashya wearing his father's slippers for the first time, turning an everyday object into a meaningful representation of growing up.

The trailer promises a warm blend of family emotions, tradition and youthful innocence. Rather than presenting adolescence as a dramatic transformation overnight, Sohla appears to capture the small moments through which a child gradually begins to understand responsibility, relationships and the world around him. The film's rural Maharashtra setting further adds an authentic cultural flavour to the story, with its traditional customs playing an important role in Pashya's journey.

For Sonali Bendre, Sohla marks an exciting new chapter away from her familiar identity as an actor. As the film's presenter, she is backing a story that puts regional storytelling, family relationships and Maharashtrian culture at the centre. The film is directed by Saaikat Bagbaan and features Pravin Dalimbkar, Vaishnavi Ghodke, Devdatta Ghone, Varsha Malwadkar, Alessandra Whelan Merediz, Swaraj Vijay Kolekar, Aaradhya Patil and Chinmay Pongade.

The project brings together Rose Audio Visuals and Carryon Films, with Goldie Behl producing alongside Sachin Srivastav, Ratna Srivastava and Kavita Bagban. The makers are also giving Sohla a nationwide theatrical reach, with Cinepolis handling its all-India theatrical distribution. The decision gives a Marathi-language coming-of-age story an opportunity to reach audiences beyond its home market.

With the Sohla trailer now out and the theatrical release just around the corner, the film looks ready to offer audiences something refreshingly rooted and heartfelt. At a time when coming-of-age stories often focus on teenage drama, Sohla appears to take a more intimate route, finding emotion in family, tradition and the little rituals that signal growing up. With Sonali Bendre presenting the film for the first time, all eyes are now on October 16, 2026, when Sohla makes its way to cinemas.
