Patna, Sep 29 (SocialNews.XYZ) Reacting to JD(U) MLA Anant Singh’s decision to back Jan Suraaj Party candidate Anuj Kumar Singh in the upcoming Bihar Legislative Council elections, Minister Ram Kripal Yadav on Tuesday said the NDA was united and asserted that all alliance candidates would receive the support of its leaders and workers.
“Whether they are candidates of the Janata Dal (United) or the Bharatiya Janata Party, everyone is united. We are united like a rock,” Yadav told IANS.
Yadav described both Anant Singh and JD(U) leader Neeraj Kumar as capable leaders and said they would work together.
“I believe Anant Babu is a very capable leader, and Neeraj Babu is also a capable leader. Both will work together and receive everyone’s support. Anant Babu will also help Neeraj Babu,” he said.
The minister’s remarks came after Anant Singh, the JD(U) MLA from Mokama, announced his support for Jan Suraaj Party candidate Anuj Kumar Singh, who is contesting against sitting JD(U) MLC Neeraj Kumar from the Patna Graduates constituency.
JD(U) National Spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad also sought to underline the party’s confidence in Neeraj Kumar’s prospects, saying he would retain the seat.
“Neeraj Kumar is going to win the election by a huge margin. He has won three times, and the winning streak will continue for the fourth time,” Prasad said.
He said the JD(U), along with its alliance partners, would seek victory across all the seats going to polls in Bihar’s Graduate and Teachers’ constituencies.
“The entire party and the entire alliance will win not only the Patna seat but all eight Legislative Council seats in Bihar where voting will take place in the Graduate and Teachers’ constituencies,” he told IANS.
JD(U) National General Secretary Shyam Rajak said the party had already taken its decision and that its leaders and workers would follow the directions of the leadership.
“The party has already taken its decision. We have a strong alliance and a strong organisation in our party. Our people follow the directions of the leadership with discipline,” Rajak told IANS.
He added that the party would contest the elections in accordance with the leadership’s decision.
“Accordingly, the decision regarding the Legislative Council elections will also be taken and the elections will be contested. What is important is that our goal and duty is to ensure the victory of all eight candidates fielded by the JD(U) and the NDA,” he said.
MLA Anant Kumar Singh on Monday vowed to “defeat” his party’s MLC Neeraj Kumar in the upcoming Bihar Legislative Council polls by supporting and canvassing for Jan Suraaj Party candidate Anuj Singh.
The Mokama MLA addressed a press conference at his Patna residence, where the Jan Suraaj Party candidate was also present, to announce his decision.
