Drawing a simple comparison between our homes and public spaces, Ajay said, “Just as we all love our homes and keep them clean, I think we also love our country, our city and our seas. So, don't you think it is our responsibility? If we take care of our homes, then it is also our responsibility to keep our city and our country clean.” The actor’s message focused on turning cleanliness into a personal habit rather than something people expect authorities or sanitation workers to handle alone.
Ajay further pointed out that meaningful change begins when individuals make a conscious decision to contribute. “Unless we decide that we want to keep our city and our country clean, nothing will change. And if you make that decision, and every person makes a small effort, then together we can keep everything clean very easily,” he said. Rather than presenting cleanliness as an enormous task, the actor emphasised how small actions by large numbers of people can collectively make a visible difference.
The actor also urged people to speak up when they see others contributing to litter and poor civic hygiene. “And you can also tell those who do not keep it clean, ‘Please, this is my country too, this is my city too, so please keep it clean.’ So, our future depends on you all,” Ajay said. His appeal placed the responsibility not only on those who clean public spaces but also on citizens who use them, particularly after large public celebrations that attract thousands of people.
Explaining why he chose to participate in Sea Shore Shine 2026, Ajay also praised the initiative and the people behind it. “Because this is a creative initiative. I wanted to thank the whole team... so I want to be a part of it, and I am a part of it,” he said. His participation gave additional visibility to the clean-up campaign, with the actor also seen getting involved in the on-ground effort at Juhu Beach.
The initiative comes at a time when Mumbai’s coastline faces the annual challenge of managing waste generated around major festivities. Ajay Devgn’s message was ultimately straightforward: loving a city means taking responsibility for it. From keeping one’s home clean to caring for public spaces, beaches and seas, the actor called for a collective change in everyday behaviour. As he put it, “Our future depends on you all,” making the clean-up drive not just a one-day activity but a reminder that civic responsibility begins with individual choices.
