Ajay Devgn Gets His Hands Dirty for Juhu Beach Cleanup After Ganpati Visarjan, Says Cleanliness Is Everyone’s Responsibility

Ajay Devgn stepped away from the glamour of the film world and got his hands dirty for a cause close to Mumbai’s heart. The actor joined a post-Ganpati Visarjan cleanup drive at Juhu Beach on September 26, where he was seen actively picking up litter and putting the waste into a dustbin. Organised under the “Sea Shore Shine” initiative by Divya Foundation, the drive brought together volunteers, civic representatives and other public figures to clean the beach after the festive celebrations.

Videos from the event showed Ajay arriving at the stage before joining the cleanup effort himself. Dressed in a white shirt and glasses, the actor was seen walking along the beach and collecting discarded waste rather than merely attending the event for a photo opportunity. Amruta Fadnavis was also part of the initiative, with footage showing her participating in the cleanup alongside volunteers. The event was supported by organisations including Divyaj and Bhamla, with BMC representatives and other officials also present.

While addressing the gathering, Ajay highlighted the importance of taking personal responsibility for keeping public spaces clean. Drawing a simple comparison with everyday life, the actor stressed that just as people make an effort to keep their homes clean, the same attitude should extend to the city, the country and the seas. His participation added a celebrity voice to a larger message about responsible celebrations and ensuring that Mumbai’s beaches are not left carrying the burden of festival waste.

The cleanup drive comes immediately after Ganpati Visarjan, when large numbers of devotees traditionally gather along Mumbai’s coastline to bid farewell to Lord Ganesha. The celebrations can leave behind significant amounts of waste, making post-visarjan cleanup efforts particularly important. By joining volunteers on the ground, Ajay became part of an initiative aimed at restoring the beach and encouraging people to think beyond the celebrations themselves.
