Raaka Makes Guinness World Records: Allu Arjun and Atlee Celebrate Historic Motion-Capture Feat

Allu Arjun and filmmaker Atlee’s highly anticipated sci-fi action film Raaka has created history even before its theatrical release. The upcoming film has officially entered the Guinness World Records for “Most People Motion-Captured in Real-Time”, after 37 performers were captured simultaneously during a single motion-capture session in Mumbai. Guinness World Records lists the achievement under Sun TV Network Limited and V. Arunkumar, professionally known as Atlee, for Raaka.

Celebrating the milestone, Allu Arjun shared pictures with Atlee as they received the official Guinness World Records certificate. The actor expressed how special the achievement was, writing, “FEELING TRULY HUMBLED BY THIS MOMENT. #RAAKA ACHIEVING A GUINNESS WORLD RECORD IS SOMETHING VERY SPECIAL. SO EXCITED FOR WHAT’S AHEAD! ATLEE GARU, THIS ONE IS SPECIAL.” He also tagged Atlee, Sun Pictures and Guinness World Records in his post.

The record-setting exercise involved 37 performers being motion-captured simultaneously in real time. According to Guinness World Records, the achievement was recorded in Mumbai on September 15, 2026. Reports on the production reveal that the technical setup involved 92 optical motion-capture cameras, along with systems for calibration, networking, synchronisation, real-time visualisation and facial capture.

What makes the feat particularly interesting is the range of performers involved. The participants reportedly ranged from a four-year-old child to a 70-year-old, with the challenge requiring the individual performances of all 37 participants to be captured simultaneously within one motion-capture volume. The production’s VFX team developed a specialised pipeline and workflow to meet the technical requirements of the sequence.

Directed by Atlee, Raaka marks his first collaboration with Allu Arjun and is being mounted as a large-scale science-fiction project. Deepika Padukone is also part of the cast, while Sun Pictures is backing the film. With much of the film’s storyline and characters being kept under wraps, the Guinness achievement has added another layer of curiosity around what Atlee and Allu Arjun are creating.

For Allu Arjun, the record comes as another major milestone in a project that is already attracting attention for its scale and technical ambition. With the official Guinness certificate now in hand, Raaka has established a notable motion-capture record ahead of its expected 2027 theatrical release.
