Jaipur, Sep 18 (SocialNews.XYZ) The deaths of two women following childbirth at the Maternal and Child Health Unit of District Hospital in Rajasthan's Bundi have prompted concern within the Health Department and district administration, officials said on Friday.
Both women had undergone Caesarean sections (C-sections) before their health deteriorated and they were referred to other hospitals for treatment.
According to preliminary information, four women underwent Caesarean deliveries at the hospital on Wednesday and Thursday.
All four reportedly developed complications following the procedures and were referred elsewhere for further treatment.
Among them, 32-year-old Kavita and 33-year-old Varsha died while undergoing treatment.
The exact cause of death has not yet been officially established.
Preliminary information has raised the possibility of complications involving urinary retention and kidney failure, but officials have not confirmed whether these conditions were responsible for the deaths.
In view of the incident, the district hospital's Operation Theatre has been closed pending an investigation.
A team has been sent to collect samples, while separate high-level teams from the Health Department and the district administration have been constituted to examine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

The deterioration in the condition of four women following Caesarean deliveries over two consecutive days, and the subsequent deaths of two of them, has prompted an investigation by the hospital administration, Health Department and district authorities.
Investigators are examining whether these conditions were linked to the surgeries, medicines administered or other factors associated with their treatment.
However, the official cause of death has not been confirmed for either woman.
Authorities said the reasons will be established only after the investigation and medical examination are completed.
Following the incident, the district hospital's Operation Theatre has been closed as a precautionary measure until the investigation report is received.
Caesarean sections and other surgeries will not be conducted there during this period.
An investigation team has also been dispatched to collect samples.
The inquiry is expected to examine the Operation Theatre, medicines, medical equipment and other factors that could potentially be connected to the incident.
Additional District Collector H.D. Singh visited the district hospital after learning about the deaths.
He met doctors, Operation Theatre staff and Principal Medical Officer (PMO) N.L. Meena to gather details about the cases.
Officials also sought information about the treatment provided to the women, the deterioration in their health following surgery and the circumstances surrounding their referrals to other hospitals.
Two high-level teams have been constituted to investigate the incident, one from the Health Department and another from the district administration.
The teams will examine various aspects of the cases, including the surgeries performed, treatment provided, medicines administered and complications reported after the procedures.
Principal Medical Officer N.L. Meena said the matter is being treated seriously and that the actual causes of the deaths will become clear only after the investigation is completed.
The inquiry by the Health Department and district administration is currently underway.
