Guna, Sep 18 (SocialNews.XYZ) Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Friday held a series of public interactions across his Guna Lok Sabha constituency, meeting villagers, beneficiaries, and students, and reviewing the implementation of government schemes during the second day of his four-day visit.
Scindia began his engagements at Barkheda Gird, where he inspected a Public Distribution System (PDS) ration shop and reviewed the mechanism for distributing foodgrains through biometric authentication. He said any attempt to deprive poor beneficiaries of their entitled foodgrain or indulge in irregularities should invite strict action.
During his visit to a Mukhyamantri Jan Vishwas camp in the village, Scindia also interacted with Namo Drone Didi Kiran and flew a drone with her. He praised her technical skills and confidence, saying modern technology used by rural women was creating new opportunities in agriculture and promoting self-reliance.
He also listened to villagers' grievances and interacted with beneficiaries of various welfare schemes during the camp.
Later, at a beneficiary programme at Shubh Vidai Garden, Scindia interacted with beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana, focusing largely on women’s economic and social empowerment.
“Women’s empowerment is not limited to government schemes; it is also about changing the mindset of families and society,” Scindia said, stressing that household responsibilities should be shared equally by men and women.
He highlighted schemes including the PM Awas Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, as well as the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, underlining the government’s initiatives to increase women’s ownership, self-reliance, and participation in decision-making.
Scindia also heard personal experiences of beneficiaries. A Bank Sakhi, Rekha, said she had become financially self-reliant and was earning around Rs 1 lakh annually. Ladli Behna beneficiary Ramrati said she had purchased a sewing machine with the assistance received under the scheme and was now earning Rs 8,000–10,000 per month through tailoring.
In the evening, Scindia visited Tatya Tope University and held an interaction with students on their studies, syllabus, and academic projects. During the interaction, he noticed a student using a mobile phone and asked him to switch it off.
“I have the eyes of a hawk; the Congress knows this,” Scindia remarked.
He also spoke about the importance of teachers, describing a doctor, farmer, and teacher as three kinds of ‘givers’ in a person’s life: the doctor who gives life, the farmer who provides food, and the teacher who imparts knowledge.
