Bengaluru, Sep 17 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Magadi Road Police on Thursday registered an FIR in connection with the alleged kidnapping of a 21-year-old woman from Agrahara Dasarahalli in Bengaluru by some people from Rajasthan and a subsequent series of road accidents involving the vehicle used by the accused.
The case has been registered under Sections 137, 61 and 110 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
According to the police, Pooja, daughter of Gunaramu and a resident of Melwas village in Rajasthan, had married Om Prakash, 23, son of Shesh Ram, in a love marriage around eight to nine months ago against the wishes of their families. After the incident, local residents reportedly chased the vehicle. In an attempt to escape, the accused allegedly drove the car recklessly at around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, hitting more than 35 cars and over 100 two-wheelers during the chase.
The chase continued for around nine kilometres before members of the public managed to intercept the vehicle at 4th Cross Road in Vijayanagar Hoshalli. The enraged public allegedly pelted the vehicle with stones, damaging it, and dragged three persons out of the car before assaulting them. They were subsequently handed over to the Vijayanagar police.
Six people were injured in the series of accidents. They have been identified as Prithviraj, 12, Yashika, 9, Amul, 35, Mani, 64, Jayalakshmi, 57, and Santosh, 33. Jayalakshmi sustained a head injury and is undergoing treatment in the ICU, while the other injured people are also receiving treatment.

During questioning, police reportedly found that Pooja's paternal aunt had allegedly hired the accused to kidnap her. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the aunt had remained in contact with Pooja after her marriage and had allegedly obtained her address recently.
Police are continuing their investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the alleged kidnapping and the role of others in the incident.
