Mr. Kibrom Misgina, head of water resources in the Southern Region, said that the project, implemented through community participation and Government support, included a well, a reservoir with a capacity of 125 barrels of water, four water distribution centers, about 2 km of pipeline, and a solar power system.
Mr. Haile Tesfamariam, head of water development in Embeito, said that the project involved labor valued at 1.5 million Nakfa and expenditure of over 876,000 Nakfa. He commended the water resources professionals and residents of Embeito for their significant contributions to the successful implementation of the project.
The residents, noting that their efforts in collaboration with regional water resources officials had secured a potable water supply for their village, expressed readiness to strengthen their participation in and contributions to similar development programs.
Congratulating the residents on the successful implementation of the project, Mr. Afwerki Russom, administrator of the sub-zone, said that the community’s coordination and commitment will serve as an example to other villages.
Mr. Afwerki further noted that the strong public participation in the project will encourage the implementation of similar projects. He also called for proper water management to ensure the sustainability of the project.
Embeito, home to over 700 people, is one of the villages in the Teklabi administrative area and is located about 13 kilometers north of Mai-Aini semi-urban center.
