New Delhi, Sep 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Tuesday held stakeholder consultation on Master Plan for Delhi 2047 (MPD 2047) with representatives of leading industry and commerce bodies, an official said.
The deliberations focused on measures for promotion of industry under MPD 2047, including provisions relating to the provision of DDA land to the private sector and the Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) framework, the official said in a statement.
DDA officials briefed the participating stakeholders on the relevant provisions and the framework envisaged under MPD 2047 for facilitating industrial development.
This was the fifth stakeholder consultation organised by the land-owning agency, the statement said, adding that Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu has directed a three-month outreach programme with 20 meetings aimed at addressing stakeholder concerns, clarifying provisions and incorporating feedback for effective implementation of MPD 2047.
Those who attended Tuesday's discussions represented bodies including the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ASSOCHAM and Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC).
The ongoing consultations are engaging diverse stakeholder groups on various thematic aspects of the Master Plan.
The fourth stakeholder consultation with representatives of Residents' Welfare Associations (RWAs), Cooperative Group Housing Societies (CGHS) was held on Monday, the statement said.
During the deliberations, DDA officials briefed stakeholders on the policy framework for ageing neighbourhoods and older housing societies, particularly those that are more than 50 years old or are structurally unsafe, the statement added.
The Authority outlined key planning provisions envisaged under MPD 2047, including Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), Floor Area Ratio (FAR), incentivised FAR and rationalisation of density restrictions to facilitate planned redevelopment and better utilisation of available land.
The consultation also covered provisions relating to amalgamation of adjoining plots, road networks, parking facilities, open spaces, sustainable development and waste management, the statement said.
The DDA noted that the redevelopment framework seeks to facilitate more dwelling units, increased open spaces and improved parking facilities, while ensuring safer and better living conditions in existing residential areas.
Residential representatives also raised various concerns and suggestions, including the need for enhanced permissible FAR, a single-window system for approvals from multiple agencies, and structural safety audits of older buildings to assess their safety and suitability for redevelopment.
The Master Plan for Delhi-2047 was notified by the Central government on August 20. It focuses on improving and redeveloping existing ageing areas/buildings to accommodate more people in a planned way, along with better water supply, sewerage, roads, open spaces and essential public facilities.
The ongoing consultations are engaging diverse stakeholder groups, including government agencies and service providers, industry bodies, architects and planners, resident and group housing representatives, farmers and landowners, market and trade associations, conservation bodies, transport agencies, and representatives from the education and healthcare sectors.
The thematic consultations will cover a wide range of issues under MPD 2047, including land pooling, redevelopment of group housing, low-density areas, the Yamuna and blue-green zones, heritage conservation, mixed-use and commercial areas, in-situ slum redevelopment, decongestion, and the development of education and medical hubs.
