Lucknow, Sep 13 (SocialNews.XYZ) Uttar Pradesh Minister Anil Rajbhar on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Samajwadi Party (SP) over the murder of a 22-year-old man in Jaunpur, after the victim's family accused a local SP MLA of shielding the prime accused, saying that whenever a crime takes place anywhere in the state, an SP connection is revealed in most cases.
Vishal Yadav, a 22-year-old resident of Jaunpur, was allegedly brutally beaten to death with iron rods and sticks in broad daylight at the Ramdayalganj market in the district on September 11, 2026. The incident has sparked a major political controversy, with Vishal's family accusing Samajwadi Party MLA Lucky Yadav of protecting the alleged prime accused, Manish Yadav.
Speaking to IANS, Rajbhar said, "In the Vishal Yadav murder case, the victim's family has filed a serious complaint against the local SP MLA. The government will ensure strict action against the culprits by conducting an impartial investigation into the entire matter."
"Whenever a crime is committed in the state, an SP connection surfaces in 90 per cent of the cases," he said.
Rajbhar said the state government had adopted a clear policy of taking strict action not only against those involved in criminal activities but also against individuals accused of providing protection or shelter to criminals.
"Action in such cases should be taken that sets an example for the future. The allegations made by Vishal Yadav's family will also be investigated seriously," he said.
The minister further said that the government would continue taking action in the matter until the victim's family was completely satisfied with the steps taken by the authorities.
The murder took place on September 11 when Vishal Yadav was returning home on a motorcycle along with his friend Sandeep after visiting a salon.
According to the officials, a group of attackers intercepted the two at the Ramdayalganj market and knocked them off the motorcycle before allegedly launching a brutal assault on Vishal with iron rods and batons.
Vishal sustained severe injuries in the attack and later died, triggering anger among his family members and residents.
Following the incident, Vishal's family staged a protest by placing his body on the Jaunpur-Mirzapur highway, demanding action against those responsible for his death.
Police have registered an FIR against 28 named accused and 50 unidentified individuals in connection with the murder.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack and the allegations levelled by the victim's family is underway.
Vishal, who was the sole support for his family, used to earn a living by driving a trailer in Gujarat.
