Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) personnel from Elwak area conducted a humanitarian outreach at Sukela Bima Village in El-Adi Sub-location, Elwak Location, aimed at supporting vulnerable residents and strengthening relations with the local community.
During the outreach, residents received free medical consultations, treatment for minor ailments and essential medication. The troops also distributed clean drinking water and refreshments to schoolchildren and vulnerable families, providing immediate relief while promoting the health and wellbeing of the community.
Beyond humanitarian assistance, the engagement provided an opportunity for KDF personnel, community elders and local leaders to interact and discuss issues affecting residents. Such engagements contribute to mutual understanding, enhance cooperation and strengthen the trust necessary for maintaining peace and security.
Community elders and local leaders, including Principal Chief Hassan Mohamednur Aligab and Headteacher Rashid Maalim Alinoor, expressed appreciation for the support provided by the troops. They noted that the prevailing security environment had enabled residents to pursue their daily activities, children to attend school without disruption and local businesses to operate normally.
The outreach demonstrated the value of sustained cooperation between security forces and communities in addressing immediate needs while supporting longer-term peace and stability. Through continued CIMIC engagements, KDF personnel in Elwak are strengthening community partnerships, building confidence and contributing to a secure environment in which communities can pursue their livelihoods and development aspirations.
