Advocate Nagurbabu N successfully secured anticipatory bail for noted folk dancer Eshwar Sai before the Telangana High Court in a case registered at Narsingi Police Station, Cyberabad Commissionerate. The case was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by fellow folk artist Madhuri Rathod, invoking Section 69 of th Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 3(2)(v) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. Court records show that Eshwar Sai had approached the High Court through Criminal Petition No. 14088 of 2026, represented by M/s Nagurbabu Law Firm.
Appearing on behalf of Eshwar Sai, Advocate Nagurbabu N advanced detailed arguments before the High Court. The defense contended that the relationship between the complainant and the accused had been consensual and voluntary over a prolonged period and that the factual circumstances required careful judicial scrutiny.
The defense further argued that custodial interrogation was not necessary and that the petitioner was willing to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation. It was submitted that the allegations and the applicability of the penal provisions would have to be examined on the basis of evidence collected during the investigation and subsequent legal proceedings.
After hearing the submissions made by both sides and considering the material placed on record, the Telangana High Court granted anticipatory bail to Eshwar Sai, providing him protection from arrest subject to the conditions imposed by the Court.
The order provides interim relief to the folk dancer while ensuring that the investigation continues in accordance with law. The grant of anticipatory bail does not amount to a determination on the merits of the allegations, which will be examined during the course of investigation and any subsequent proceedings.
The case has attracted considerable public attention due to the serious allegations involved and the prominence of the parties connected to the Telangana folk arts community. Legal observers view the High Court's order as an important procedural safeguard balancing personal liberty and the ongoing criminal investigation.
