The Dealmakers Are Set to Storm Windhoek: Nigerian Governors and CORAN Bigwigs Set to Storm International African Energy, Oil and Gas Summit (IAEOGS) 2026 to Unlock Africa's Energy Future

The global energy sector is shifting its gaze to Windhoek, Namibia, as final preparations conclude for the International African Energy, Oil and Gas Summit (IAEOGS 2026), scheduled for November 03–06, 2026, at the Hilton Hotel.

If you work in oil, gas, or energy, the 3rd, -6th of November 2026, on the calendar, you cannot afford to sit out. IAEOGS 2026 is the continent's premier gathering for policy dialogue, dealmaking, and investment. It is where the crucial relationships, contracts, and multi-million dollar partnerships shaping Africa's energy roadmap are built in real-time. This is not a conference you attend simply to listen it is an aggressive, high-stakes forum where operators connect, negotiate, and close.

Nigerian State Powerhouses Set to Storm Windhoek

In a major boost to the summit’s cross-border investment profile, the Executive Governors of Bauchi and Katsina states are leading high-powered delegations to showcase their states’ immense resource frontiers and secure major infrastructural funding.

  • Bauchi State (Led by the Governor His Excellency Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed): Governor Bala Mohammed is set to showcase Bauchi as a breakthrough player in Nigeria's inland hydrocarbon landscape. Fresh off the groundbreaking of the 6.7 billion Bauchi Oil and Gas Academy in Alkaleri strategically positioned near the massive Kolmani Oil Prospect Bauchi will present ready-to-fund assets. The state is looking to scale up upstream development alongside regional midstream achievements, such as its newly commissioned Butane Energy LPG facility.
  • Katsina State (Led by the Governor His Excellency Malam Dikko Umaru Radda): Governor Dikko Radda is storming Windhoek to accelerate green and industrial development. Following a monumental $500 million energy infrastructure partnership with Genesis Energy and the imminent delivery of the 10-megawatt Lambar Rimi solar project, Katsina is positioning itself as a leader in sub-national energy transition. Governor Radda will also present investment openings for harnessing the state's 37 distinct solid mineral resources, including commercial-scale deposits of high-grade kaolin estimated at 3.4 million tonnes in Kankara.

CORAN Big Wigs Convene to Bridge the $130 Billion Gap

Compounding the heavyweight presence, top executives and "big wigs" from the Crude Oil Refinery-Owners Association of Nigeria (CORAN) are arriving in full force. With Africa losing roughly $130 billion in GDP annually to power grid inefficiencies and fragmented supply networks, CORAN members are utilizing the summit to unlock crucial feedstocks and finalize strategic cross-border refining partnerships.

The presence of domestic refinery owners aligns directly with current West African regulatory updates, particularly as agencies like the NMDPRA actively engage to resolve crude supply shortages and optimize regional supply stability.
