New Delhi, Aug 28 (SocialNews.XYZ) Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan will on Saturday kick off his three-day visit to Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep, during which he will attend events related to education and cultural heritage, an official said.
The Vice President will visit Tamil Nadu and Karnataka on August 29, and on that day he will attend the Founder’s Day Celebration of the Kongu Vellalar Institute of Technology Trust (KVITT) at Erode, Tamil Nadu, said the official in a statement on Friday.
Later in the day, Radhakrishnan will travel to Bengaluru, where he will be the Chief Guest at the centenary celebrations of former Karnataka Chief Minister Shri Ramakrishna Hegde at the Vidhana Soudha.
On August 30, the Vice President will visit Keralam, beginning with Alappuzha, where he will attend the 115th anniversary celebrations of Kerala Kaumudi at Leo XIII Higher Secondary School.
He will thereafter proceed to Pathanamthitta to inaugurate the Aranmula Water Festival 2026.
Later, Radhakrishnan will travel to Thiruvananthapuram, where he will inaugurate the Onam Pageantry, marking the celebrations of Keralam’s major cultural festival.
On August 31, the Vice President will visit Agatti in Lakshadweep, where he will be the Chief Guest at an Outreach Programme organised by the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
Returning to Kerala, Radhakrishnan will attend the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology (RSET) and the Confluence 3.0 Industry-Academia Summit at the RSET Auditorium, Kakkanad, Kochi.
Earlier on Friday, the Vice President extended greetings on World Sanskrit Day, highlighting the ancient language's enduring contribution to India's knowledge, philosophy, culture and intellectual traditions.
VP Radhakrishnan described Sanskrit as the “timeless language of India's knowledge, philosophy, and civilisation”.
In a post on X, Vice President Radhakrishnan said: “Heartfelt greetings on World Sanskrit Day. Sanskrit is the timeless language of India's knowledge, philosophy, and civilisation.”
He said Sanskrit has shaped India's rich cultural heritage and intellectual traditions “for ages untold” and called for collective efforts to preserve and promote the language.
“Let us resolve to preserve, promote, and propagate this invaluable treasure of Sanskrit, connecting future generations to its eternal tradition of wisdom while enhancing its significance in the modern world,” Radhakrishnan said.
World Sanskrit Day is observed to celebrate the ancient Indian language and its extensive contribution to literature, philosophy, science, spirituality and the country's broader intellectual tradition. The occasion also serves as a platform to encourage the study, teaching and preservation of Sanskrit among younger generations.
