Khandwa, Aug 27 (SocialNews.XYZ) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Mohan Yadav, on Thursday announced that a grand 'Ekatma Yatra’ would be organised ahead of Simhastha 2028 to take the message of India’s ancient knowledge traditions, the lineage of spiritual leaders and the philosophy of oneness to people across the country and the world.
Yadav made the announcement while laying the foundation stone for a grand Panchayatana temple at Ekatma Dham in Omkareshwar.
He said the yatra would culminate during Simhastha 2028 and would seek to present India’s spiritual heritage and philosophy of oneness on a global platform.
“Omkareshwar and Ujjain are evolving into centres of inner consciousness and will develop into unparalleled spiritual hubs not only for Madhya Pradesh, but for India and the world,” Yadav said.
The foundation-laying ceremony was held with the participation of sants and representatives of the country’s ascetic traditions.
Yadav performed the puja of 45 sacred stones to mark the beginning of the temple construction.
The Panchayatana temple has a special religious significance as its architecture and worship tradition represent the concept that the same Param Brahma is worshipped through different divine forms.
The temple will have Lord Shiva as the principal deity at the centre, while shrines dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Lord Surya, Lord Ganesha and Goddess Shakti will be located at its four corners.
The Panchayatana tradition was promoted by Adi Shankaracharya as a means of fostering harmony among different modes of worship.
The temple at Ekatma Dham is being developed as an expression of this philosophy of unity.
“The Panchayatana temple will be a significant example of the revival of ancient Indian architecture and sculpture, besides its religious significance. Its core message is that the same Param Brahma is worshipped through different divine forms, reflecting the vision of oneness inherent in Indian culture,” Yadav said.
He said Ekatma Dham would not remain merely a religious destination but would emerge as a centre of Sanatan traditions, spiritual consciousness, cultural unity and character building.
The temple is being constructed in the traditional Nagara style. Its main shrine will have a Somatilak-style shikhara and a Sarvatobhadra-style sanctum sanctorum, with provisions for entry from all four directions.
The complex will have 100 artistically carved pillars, eight smaller spires and 121 'kalash'.
Around 80,000 cubic feet of carved pink sandstone is being used in its construction. The main 'mandap' will have an ornate dome with a diameter of 26 feet, while the temple will stand on a 16-foot-high 'jagati'.
Yadav said the Ekatma Dham being developed on Mandhata Mountain would become a major centre for spiritual peace and inner consciousness.
He said the state government was committed to developing religious and spiritual destinations with world-class facilities. The chief minister attended the ceremony along with his wife Seema Yadav.
