New Delhi, Aug 24 (SocialNews.XYZ) Japan's Ambassador to India, Keiichi Ono, met Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin on Monday with discussions focused on strong and growing relationship between both countries.
During the interaction, Nabin shared an overview of the BJP’s organisational journey, grassroots structure and functioning. He highlighted the party’s extensive network of members and karyakartas, its morchas and departments, the recently constituted national team, and the BJP’s emphasis on continuous organisational engagement beyond elections.
Nabin recalled the close personal friendship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and late former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and their contribution in giving greater strategic depth and momentum to bilateral ties.
“Shri Nabin acknowledged Japan’s important role in India’s development journey, including through the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail project, and spoke about India’s transformation under Prime Minister Modi in infrastructure, digitalisation, manufacturing, social development and internal security,” read a statement issued by the BJP central office after the meeting.
“Ambassador Ono elaborated various initiatives of Japan to further strengthen bilateral relations in multiple sectors. Both sides also discussed the significance of 75 years of India–Japan diplomatic relations in 2027 and the opportunities to further deepen cooperation in various sectors,” it added.
During the meeting, Nabin recalled his interaction with the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) delegation led by Takayuki Kobayashi,Chairperson of the Policy Research Council in May this year.
Kobayashi and Nabin had discussed strengthening party-to-party engagement through structured dialogue and the exchange of best practices. Nabin had also reaffirmed the shared commitment to further deepening India–Japan ties.
"Japan and India are not merely major powers. We are nations with rich civilisations and long histories. Deepening Japan-India relations through cooperation in security, economic and industrial investment, and people-to-people exchanges will contribute to the stability and prosperity of the Indo-Pacific region. To that end, I shared the view with BJP President Nitin Nabin that it is necessary to promote party-to-party exchanges," Takayuki Kobayashi posted on X after the meeting.
