Netflix India has unveiled the first look and release date of its upcoming action thriller Gandhari, and the announcement suggests that Taapsee Pannu is ready to unleash a very different kind of fury. The streaming platform has announced that the film will premiere on September 3, with a striking first look that places Pannu at the centre of a story seemingly driven by secrets, revelations and a mother's determination.

Sharing the first look, Netflix India wrote, “The blindfold will soon be lifted from everyone's eyes. Gandhari is on her way. Watch Gandhari, out 3 Sept, on Netflix.” The line immediately draws attention to the title's connection with the Mahabharata character Gandhari, who famously chose to blindfold herself. In this modern thriller, however, that imagery appears to take on a much more contemporary meaning.

Taapsee Pannu features prominently in the first look, signalling another intense and physically charged performance from the actor. While the makers are keeping much of the plot under wraps, the imagery and title point towards a character caught in circumstances where truth can no longer remain hidden.
