Ambassador Guo Haiyan Attends the Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Utilization & the First Kenya Grape Industry Exchange Conference
On August 13, the Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Utilization & the First Kenya Grape Industry Exchange Conference was held at the Sino-Africa Joint Research Center of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. Ambassador Guo Haiyanwas invited to attend the opening ceremony and deliver remarks. The Director General of the Kenya Wildlife Service, the Director of the Sino-Africa Joint Research Center, academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences specializing in the relevant field, and experts and scholars from several African countries attended the conference.
Ambassador Guo Haiyan said that agricultural cooperation is an important component of China-Kenya friendship and cooperation, as well as an important avenue for advancing biodiversity conservation and sustainable utilization. She expressed the hope that both sides would further deepen cooperation in agricultural science and technology, promote the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements, and make full use of zero-tariff measures to facilitate the entry of high-quality and distinctive Kenyan agricultural products into the Chinese market. These efforts will help transform Kenya’s advantages in biodiversity resources into industrial and market advantages, bringing greater benefits to the people of both countries.
