In its statement, T-Series said, “It has come to our attention that the film ‘Sahiya’ directed by Avinash Das and Sanjay Sharma and produced by Sanjay Sharma, has been submitted for certification carrying the ‘Music on T-Series’ name and logo.” The company subsequently clarified that the use of its branding was not approved by the organisation.
T-Series further stated that it “neither acquired the music rights of the said film nor authorized the use of our name, logo, trademark or branding in connection with this film in any manner.” The company stressed that any such reference should not be interpreted as evidence of an association, endorsement or involvement with Sahiya.
The statement also makes it clear that T-Series wants the matter addressed immediately. According to the company, the concerned parties have already been called upon to remove all references to T-Series from the film and its related certification material. The clarification appears aimed at preventing any confusion within the industry or among audiences regarding the film's music rights and official partners.
T-Series also adopted a firm stance on the potential legal implications of the matter, concluding its statement by saying that it “reserves all its rights and remedies in this regard.”
The statement was issued in the name of T-Series / Super Cassettes Industries Private Limited, underlining that the company is treating the unauthorised branding issue seriously.
The development comes as Sahiya, directed by Avinash Das and Sanjay Sharma and produced by Sanjay Sharma, moves through the film certification process. T-Series' clarification specifically concerns the use of its name, logo and trademark, and the company has made its position clear that it has not acquired the film's music rights.
With the statement, T-Series has effectively drawn a line between itself and Sahiya, ensuring that there is no misunderstanding about its involvement in the project. The company has also indicated that it is prepared to pursue available remedies if the unauthorised references are not removed.
