Gujarat woman recovers Rs 35 lakh within three days after approaching Dy CM over investment scam

Bhuj/Gandhinagar, Aug 12 (SocialNews.XYZ) A Kutch-based woman recovered more than Rs 35 lakh within three days of approaching Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi over an alleged investment fraud, after police teams in West Kutch launched an investigation following his directions.

Asha Siddhpura, a resident of Mundra, met Sanghavi during a 'Public Day' programme in Gandhinagar and complained that she had lost her life savings in a financial scheme that promised to double investments.

She told the Deputy Chief Minister that more than Rs 35 lakh had remained stuck after the company involved stopped returning money.

According to the details shared by the officials, Asha had joined a company called K.D. Enterprise as an agent around three years ago while looking for employment.

During her association with the company, she was attracted by promises of high financial returns and also introduced other people to the firm.

The company allegedly collected money from investors by offering schemes promising to double their investments.

When the repayment period ended, the company's operators allegedly began making excuses and subsequently refused to return the money.

Asha was left facing financial difficulties as both her own earnings and money collected from others remained with the company.

Seeking intervention, she travelled to Gandhinagar and personally presented her grievance to Sanghavi.

The Deputy Chief Minister directed the West Kutch Superintendent of Police (SP) Vikas Sunda to take immediate action and ensure efforts were made for the speedy recovery of her money.

West Kutch SP Vikas Sunda met Asha the following day and recorded details of her complaint.

Police teams, including the Local Crime Branch, subsequently began an investigation into the matter.

The police said more than Rs 35 lakh was recovered within three days and returned to Ashaben.

SP Sunda said that, following the Deputy Chief Minister's instructions, the West Kutch Police obtained complete details from the complainant and initiated prompt action under the 'Tera Tujhko Arpan' campaign.

"The money belonging to Asha Siddhpura was recovered and returned to her within three days," he added.

After receiving the money, Asha said: "My trip all the way to Gandhinagar has truly been worthwhile."

She thanked Deputy CM Sanghavi and the West Kutch Police for their prompt action and urged people not to be attracted by promises of unusually high returns or schemes claiming to double their money, and to exercise caution before investing with such companies.
